Rumors are all over the place this time a round!

I personally wouldn't care for this.... I don't want two phone bills. Thanks!

Yep,, its difficult to keep track. The more I think about this, the more i think either these rumors wanna get users hyped up all for noting, or Apple is slowly un-ravelling their phones to be like Android (in the long term)

The only difference would be Apple's remains its security.

would be strange to have 2 sim introduced only now..
.. the future is a SW SIMs (as many SIMs as you need ? )
securized with the same SE as the ApplePay.

The lack of a dual-SIM version is one of the main reasons many business people are put off the iPhone. Like most people I have a personal mobile and a business mobile. I literally have to carry around 2 mobiles because Apple don't make a dual-SIM iPhone, so this would be brilliant for me and would make me upgrade to the iPhone 7.

Should be expandable STORAGE instead. Better yet, make it the way samsung did with one of the sim slots to also act as expandable storage. WHY the hell is Apple so stupid with NOT offering expandable storage?
No. Look at Android, and the confusion Marshmallow caused due to expandable storage. Besides, looking at their profits, I don't think Apple is stupid. Even Google stopped putting microSD slot on the Nexus since Galaxy Nexus.

Not really. People just carry two phones. People still buy iPhones regardless. Usually they keep their older Android phones as the secondary phone. With dual SIM support, Apple basically tell switchers to just ditch their older smartphone altogether.

I would depending on how it works, it would be nice to not have to carry both my personal and work phone around. Having both on one phone but being able to turn off or put to sleep the work phone when needed would be key.
Or your family and your secret lover phone...

This is a real huge one IMO !! This can bring many customers in Asian territories back to the fold! I would be really pleasantly surprised, if this becomes true!

Sure… That SIM Slot also includes Pins for micro SD Cards. That to me looks like the SIM Slot of the dual SIM Galaxy S7 Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro (or any other dual sim slot phone) where you can put in either a micro SD or a nano SIM in addition to your first SIM.

Not happening.

That's what I said isn't it? If there was a dual-SIM version of the iPhone business people like myself could ditch their second phone (invariably a cheap Android device) and just have the one mobile. That would be so much easier for a lot of people.

Having said all that, I agree with the person who was hoping for virtual SIMs in the iPhone 7. I hate those fiddly little nano SIMs. The ideal scenario would be a Virtual Dual-SIM.

Note to Editor: It's not just low-end and mid-range Android phones that have dual SIM versions. The Galaxy S7 and the latest HTC smartphones both have dual-SIM versions. And you can buy them all over the world not just India and China. Did anyone even research this before they wrote this article?

Windows 950XL has dual SIM card plus SD Card Slot, Removable Battery so on....

Just my two cents - I use T Mobile as my everyday carrier. However, it has horrible reception where I work, so I've always considered getting a very basic plan fr another carrier that has a stronger signal there. this could be a great move

I don't care about dual sim...one plan costs me enough I don't need a second one. Not long ago they were talking about getting rid of the sim card all together. I would prefer that route and then use the space for a larger battery

or you could just switch everything to a carrier that has good signal?

You obiously don't travel very much.
I was in the USA for the past three weeks. My own carrier lets me use my Plan for calls made in the US which is good but calling us numbers is a PITA. I have to dial the US Internatonal Code from within the US. So buying another SIM and popping it into the phone is a great idea. Save having to carry another phone.
I have a SIM for India and another for Jordan. for me, a dual sim iPhone is just what is needed.

Bring it on!
ps. If you don't have a second SIM then you won't get two phone bills.

Seems more likely they would adapt the iPad Pro way of having an internal SIM and a tray as well. The two tray appearance would be very un-Apple like.

A second SIM slot would mar the holy perfection of Jony's design, so there is ZERO chance of it happening. Far more likely is that Apple will remove the SIM slot entirely and require one to disassemble the phone to swap SIMs.

He cannot even bring himself to put a few USB ports and the SD card slot in an accessable location on the iMac or Mac Mini.

This is a US Centric site and for many places outside the Lower 48 States simply do not exist.
As for US Network (AT%A or T-Mobile) coverage on Route 95 from Vegas to Reno.... Makes the coverage in the Hebrides look really good.

If anything... I'd expect this in an updated, iPhone SE 2- where the extra thickness would allow it, AND it's better suited for those markets.

I would also love this to happen, but as they sell so many units via carriers (not the direct sales model of say Oneplus) I just cannot see it happening. I think they *should* do it, but I will be very surprised.

Would be useful in Europe if you shuttle between 2 or more countries, although ironically in 12 months time we have a new European wide agreement that means we will pay the same when travelling between countries (so negating much of the need for 2 sims).

Also be useful when you have different areas with patchy connections from different carriers of course.
