Dual eSim yes, maybe. That could be a typical Apple game changer.

Dual SIM-tray absolutely never, ever. That's like adding a dual BD drive to an iMac.

Not a plus for me, even for those with company phones etc. and want it should keep in mind that you'll be depreciating your own phone and the company will just foot the phone bill..

This must be the dumbest rumor ever.
It's as likely as Apple introducing an iphone with removable battery and flash memory slot.

Dual camera, dual SIM, stereo speakers...

The next rumor:
iPhone 7 May Have Dual Display And Dual Audio Jack

(But no dual battery, sorry folks)

Given how precious every cubic millimetre of internal volume is in Sir Jony's slim new world, and how few people have any use for a second SIM, it's difficult to imagine this is happening.

I thought Apple wants E-Sims to control the entire process, just programing it to the carrier?

The Apple sim is a good idea in theory, but try getting it switched to another carrier at the airport for a prepay carrier, it's impossible, far easier to switch out the sim and get cheap data while visiting

A dual sim would allow me to ditch my work Android which happens to be dual sim

Perhaps there isn't much need for dual sim in the US but in Asia and Europe it would be a major step forward over Android

Apple is also going to support Android OS as well on the iPhone 7.

China has so many phones that are dual sim, this is not for the iPhone. It's for some other China phone.

I'd just love this! I am so bored with having to take 2 phones when I travel. I need my home number available, but don't want to get charged ridiculous amounts for local calls when I'm abroad. I don't live in UK, or EU, but travel there regularly, so I have SIM's for those two, and PAYG for the other countries I regularly visit. Apple SIM? Worthless - or rather costs far too much .. Not holding my breath though.

This would be amazing for traveling abroad! I hate taking my USA sim out of my phone and storing it somewhere during my trip.

Um, why dual camera only on larger model? Absolutely zero market interest for dual camera on the "smaller" model?

Wouldn't be thin enough.

Very sad. If I could get the smaller model with the better camera I would trade in my 6S for it. But to deal with another humongous phone just for the camera, when I already have a nice dslr? No thanks.

For those who want the larger size, this should finally be a sweet update. Of course we'll have to see about the image quality, but the dual lens camera may finally put Apple back near the front of the pack amongst smartphone cameras.

Note to Editor: It's not just low-end and mid-range Android phones that have dual SIM versions. The Galaxy S7 and the latest HTC smartphones both have dual-SIM versions. And you can buy them all over the world not just India and China. Did anyone even research this before they wrote this article?

Yes, from the editor's point of view (and mine), both samsung and htc phones are low end ;-)
[doublepost=1466448244][/doublepost]Dual SIM would definately be useful but somehow I don't see that happening considering the move towards no SIM card and multi carrier SIM cards.

What a useful, albeit extremely un-Apple-like feature.

A dual SIM allows you to not have to fiddle with SIM cards at airports, which is where 90% of SIM-card fiddling happens. In a place where your SIM-eject tool is probably left at home, you have luggage with you, you're waiting in line, people are pushing and shouting at you, and you're holding your laptop, liquids, shoes and belt in separate color coded plastic bags in alphabetical order whilst also trying to hurry. So there you are, trying to eject the SIM from your iPhone with a paperclip that doesn't quite fit and which they are about to confiscate from you, and store the SIM in a safe place, like your pocket, but you'll have to empty that in a second anyway. You then fiddle the other SIM into the slot, but drop the tray or the paper clip or the SIM, and the line moves forward as you try to not drop every valuable object you're holding. Then do this again during your return trip.

So if any feature could allow me to never have to go through that ever again, I would appreciate it.

But how would this work with carrier SIM locking? If you get your phone on a contract - which most people do - it will likely be SIM-locked for at least 2 years to your carrier, so how would that work? SIM locking is the curse of buying on contract, but it's not something carriers like to make exceptions with. Even when your contract is up, unlocking the SIM is often a tedious and lengthy process of making phone calls and begging, and even then you sometimes have to pay extra for it.

I thought Apple were supposedly getting rid of SIM cards?

Slow, unreliable and insecure storage. No thanks.

Untill Apple puts it there... and then all of sudden is amazing, efficient, great, suitable, cheap... OMG Apple did it again (head explodes). SD cards are great, don't lie to yourself.
