Wonder how many people will fall for the DSLR quality camera if this is true. Smart person would invest that money in a DSLR and really notice the difference.

I always go to my phone for my DSLR needs. Upsampling is the new version of a high quality lens. It's nearly the same as long as you don't intend on looking close at the picture or using it in any way that isn't online in nature.

Boring design. Rounded edges had no correlation with holding a larger phone nor lends to the illusion that it's slimmer than it really is. A hexagonal shape would be amazing. Just like a round smart watch would look nicer. Function over form, you morons at Cupertino. God, I was furious when they announced the 6s. Instead of making it look like a work of art like my Samsung Galaxy Active 6, they used a new aluminum alloy that is supposedly stronger.

And a dual camera system will make a nice addition to the long list of iGimmicks: Siri, 64-bit chip, Touch ID, Apple Pay, 3D Touch, Taptic Engine.

In my opinion, the rounded iPhone looks worse than the SE's style. Also the protruding camera is just annoying. Make it thicker so it doesn't protrude anymore. I doubt anyone will complain, having a sleeker design and thicker battery to boot.

If these guys were smart at all they would do what they did with the macbook retina 12. Just do a small release online and let people pick it up right away with no showboating at wwdc about it. Just show the software side of things and wow people that way. Mention the new camera and the faster processor as always but that's it. Don't go into crazy details.. Then next year change the "S" pattern and drop iPhone 8 next September with an all new design and some sort of extras.. no idea what those would be but the phone needs something more.. toss in some wireless ear pods for free in the box.. do something!!! These guys have sat back and pretty much just refined the same product for the past couple of years. Where's the innovation in that? If I tinker with something long enough I can come up with little tweaks here and there too. Time to step up and allow some software customization. For all the smack they talked about how the apple watch was the "most personal device" yet.. it's like ahh what?? You can't add a custom face, most complications are extremely limited.. oh but wait.. lets sell you a 50.00 watch band.. how's that for customizing the device to fit your needs.. RIGHT! I would love to be in one of their meetings about a new device like iPhone 7. I would absolutely lose it if I was presented something like this.

They've released 3 devices this year (iphone SE, 9.7" iPad Pro, 2016 rMB) with a headphone jack. And there is still a decent possibility that they will release MBPs at or around WWDC with a headphone jack (since I assume Apple is waiting for the release of the iPhone 7 to bring about this change in audio interface - or why not do it already). That is going to be really weird. You could easily have someone buy a macbook from this year and buy an iPhone 7 later this year and have to use an adapter or completely different headphones for each device which seems...inelegant.

I think their best course of action is to push wireless headphones ONLY for the iphone 7 and DO NOT come out with a lightening capable set of headphones. Instead invest heavily in a very small adapter for regular 3.5mm headphones so they can be used with the iphone 7's lightening port. Trying to introduce a NEW headphone lightening interface (that is basically Apple only, and introduces a lot of fragmentation for their product line) seems silly. Don't try to reinvent headphones. Just push wireless for the iphone 7 and give people a really good adapter (for regular headphones) if they need it.

Full disclosure: I could care less about headphone jacks in the iphone 7 but I really, really don't want the 3.5mm headphone jack removed from macbooks/ipads. I will probably always be cross platform (I use an android phone, I'm sure many others have an iphone but also use a PC). In that scenario moving to a new audio interface ONLY for apple devices would really suck.

An adapter for $29 is probably the reason, and no doubt the release of iPhone 7 will coincide with brand new wireless Beats headphones , which also have not been updated for a long time.

Expect a new range of Beats headphones that offer some gimmick feature with the iPhone, might even be tied to Apple Music.

They will claim the age of wired audio is finally over, and showcase products that are wireless.

Headphone Jack is a non-issue, for the few times your charging and listening to headphones you can charge with smart connector. They will make a adapter for the old ones. But they should include it. The trend has been big to bluetooth headphones for years now. Same crying when the 30 pin connector was axed. Same crying when the optical drives were removed from Macs. There are also small bluetooth adapters for headphone jack headphones I use one with my Ultimate Ear headphones already.

Other manufacturers will be offering these cameras and new designs....shock horror, innovation. If this is true, Samsung will be the winner here, with the S7 edge already a great phone. Apple will learn how many die hard fans they have.

I keep wondering if the current exec team have just got plain lazy and are planning thier retirement. They are just riding this out.

I've come to term with my iP6 camera and it's blurry photos when you zoom in. I just don't get how they've ignored it. my iP5 took better photos with no blur.

Let's hope that these (false) leaks are actually being sent out by Apple strategically in an effort to lower our expectations, and then when the iPhone 7 comes out this year, it's either:

a) completely different
or
b) exactly like what we thought the 2017 iPhone was going to be.

I know this is almost definitely not the case, but a man can dream, right?

I've never seen a phone come close to a fast prime lens . Though I say that being into photography, the magic happens with lenses, and no one can fool physics.... Shooting in low light is awful on a phone.

Day to day use, a phone is perfect. Though a DSLR is not for day to day use.

Man I thought I was the only person thinking this. Every year we look at these rumor sites and it takes away from excitement of the devices. What if this is all a ploy to "punish" us lol and the 7 will be a magnificent device . Like you said a man can only dream . Highly unlikely though . If it did happen it would be epic.

Is that in low light? I never owned a ip6 but my plus 6 and 6S have always taken good pictures for a phone.

Maybe worth getting it checked out ?

What happened to all the "years of great products" in the pipeline that was talked about right before and after Jobs passed away? Tim Cook is taking the company in a bad direction. Samsung will kill it this year.

I assume Jobs only signed off the roadmap to 2015 :p

Or they can just not be cheap and include a 3.5 mm jack to lightning adapter.

It's really surprising to see the last few years of design "upgrades" out of Apple which are almost identical to its own previous versions.

iPad Air/Pro
iPad Mini 4
iPhone 6/6S
iPhone 5S/SE
MacBook Air
MacBook Pro
iMac

And the two "Fresh" designs we got were the MacBook and Watch. Two good looking products that are surprisingly overpriced and underpowered.

As someone who enjoyed the circus surrounding Apples next product, then it is a bit disappointing to see the answer to "What's Apple going to do next!" seems to be "Same as last year but in pink".

Sick of this new iPhone every year for the sake of it.

Lets just release a new iPhone every 2 years, and make it a worthwhile upgrade. In the meantime, they can focus on optimising software and enhancing features.

You new to capitalism? That's not how things work around here. You market things to within an inch of their lives, because "you have to have it, or you'll die, you won't be cool, buildings will explode, the terrorists will in" and you sell incremental upgrades year after year to ensure a continuous flow of money.
