Not sure how that is going to work out for me, since I get a company phone (small company), and I used AT&T Next - it will ONLY ship to the account holder's address (which is her home address), and both her and her husband work until usually 6-7-8pm M-F. She said I am on my own if they don't leave it and I have to go pick it up at UPS/FedEx, but what she doesn't understand is because its her account, it will be shipped to HER, so I don't even think I will be able to go to the hub and pick it up, she will have to.

Anyone have one of those letters I can have her leave on her front door for the delivery person?

After your iPhone arrives in Alaska or Kentucky, there will be delivery information on the Apple.com orders page along with a link to print that "pre-sign" letter.

In the end it's up to the driver to leave it, but if they are not comfortable with the security at the drop point, they will leave the missed delivery door tag. I've had that happen with an iPhone and I live in a gated community- next day the driver said he knew it was an iPhone and did not want to leave it- pissed me off.

Mine moved to Korea and has recently departed now!
Thanks for making me check again.
Mine did too! YAY!

Not trying to rain on any parades, but Apple typically does ship the phones out the following week, but the phones are held at the nearest major facility that provides next day shipping to your area until the 15th so the phones are still delivered on the 16th.
This is correct.

Got mine switched to pickup at my CC so I don't have to worry about signing for delivery. Pickup at 8am sharp (EST)!

My Leather Case shipped.. lol I'll have it before the phone.. YAY! Have to wait another week before the phone will ship.. unless they change my date. All good.

My phone was Preparing for Shipment, now it's back to Processing...still have a Sept 16th delivery. I don't see a charge yet on my card. I think the same thing happened 2 years ago when I ordered my 6+. I'm pretty sure since there's no movement my phone is already here in a UPS hub - most likely in PA. If that's the case I will not get a tracking notice until Thursday. Two years ago it was shipped overnight via UPS and arrived here early in the am. There was a special UPS driver making the Apple iPhone deliveries. My amazon orders were delivered by my normal UPS guy that afternoon.

Also I did print out a UPS pre-sign form and had it on the door but I was home and saw him when he arrived. I was training my german shepherd puppy (who was losing it at this strange dude being at our door) so I couldn't open the door but told him to grab my pre-sign form. I think he would have left my phone even if I wasn't at the door - I live out in the country...

Cheers,
B

had the same thing happen with one of our phones yesterday (MY phone! ACK!) I think they are here in the states already too, since I'm seeing no movement. my phone order was really quick... his took a bit... so I won't be surprised to find out I got in US stock... his I'm a little more surprised about....

editted to add: just looked at our orders again..... UGH! Mines back to processing now!? WTF!

My gold 128GB 7 plus will be in Alaska at lunch time. YAY!
Last year, my iPhone sat in Alaska for 3 days without movement and I thought I wouldn't get it on launch day.
It finally moved from Alaska to Kentucky all the way back to the West Coast and to my doorstep IN 1 DAY!
I was amazed and the logistics especially with such high volume.

Can anyone tell me, ordered placed on Apple.com, do the packages need signed for? They would only ship to the account holders address and that's my boss's house, but we work every day, sometimes till 6-7pm, so no one will be home to sign, which will cause a problem, so anyone know this?
It has been my experience that UPS will not accept a pre-signed release or a signed notification for any Apple products where I live. I was told by my regular UPS driver at work and the usual driver at home that they would always require a signature if they saw it was from Apple. Even for other products, it is always at the drivers discretion and they might not allow a delivery to be left - I remember a Dell laptop that absolutely had to be signed for. This time of year every driver knows Apple is shipping a new product and will probably (hopefully) take extra caution and require a signature. In other parts of the country, or perhaps where there is a secure lockbox available, it may be a different story.
