Apple business department are pretty smart/shifty!

Iphone 6/6s:
Only offers 16gb, for most it's not enough. Only choice is 64gb or more. But 64gb will fit the majority of iphone users. 32gb was not offered which that would of been the popular choice.

Iphone 7:
Lets give them "free" iphones. Wait 32gb doesn't cut it anymore bc all the people who bought a iphone 6/6s with 64gb got use to a 64gb storage (at least I have). But wait no 64gb option. So pay up $99 more for the 128gb!

Damn and that's how you make the customers pay more in the long run. Genius play around the storage in a span of 3 years.

Lets see what's next in terms of storage and pricing.

No, you're wrong.

I got a iPhone 6 64GB as it was the same price as the 32gb in the past. Same with iPhone 7 i got the 128gb which replaces the 64gb for the SAME price. Its not more money, think before you type.

The new line of storage is 32gb, 128gb, 256gb. Using the same prices as 16gb, 64gb, 128gb.

that dual camera feels somewhat redundant, i hope one day we'll have optical zoom in smartphone cameras.
but this is a good start for sure, i don't like the 28mm fov that every smartphone has.

The dual camera is here to stay, I think. I also love that they have something else than wide angle now. It's just a little sad that the telephoto camera is slightly worse and doesn't have stabilisation.

Agreed, I'm upgrading from a 6 and it is shaping up to be a very worthwhile upgrade.

Battery life. Speed. Camera. All very meaningful improvements.
To me the most noticeable improvement will be the ram. My 6+ is HORRIBLE. doesnt keep apps open whatever. music app playing in the car. Go into the store to get something come back out into my car and reloads. I'm calling my phone iPhone 6+ reload from now on. Worse than my iPhone 5 was.
The other new stuff is a big upgrade also but I'm looking forward to speed and ram

I hate to be "that guy" but Steve Jobs would've never released a phone with software that was "incomplete"
He shipped the ORIGINAL iPhone. It was missing lots of stuff.

The ORIGINAL iPhone has the stuff needed at that time and more compared to competitors at that period. I have to admit 3G is the only missing, but then at that time 3G coverage is spotty during the time of release of the ORIGINAL iPhone.

I thought your reason for not upgrading is that, for some distorted reason, you think it uses the same battery as the Samsung exploding phones?

I said from beginning, removal of headphone jack is the biggest turn off for me. Combing with using Samsung SDI's battery. I will have my concern over iPhone and iPhone 7.

Also, both my Black iPhone SE and iPhone 6S are very hot to touch during charging concerns me even more.

So until Apple comes out and give us reassurance, I will stop using my iPhone all together. I am using my Android phone as daily driver anyway. So giving up iPhone is not end of the world.

He also wouldn't let almost 2 years slide between Mackbook Air and Macbook Pro updates.

If you hate to be "that" guy.... DON'T.
Don't be "that" guy. Resist the urge to say something that oozes pretense. You never met the man & have literally NO idea what he would or wouldn't do in any situation whatsoever. To pretend otherwise is the height of absurdity & egoism.

He would if the macbook's weren't complete ;)

Why do people always say they're not "essential upgrades"? Do they think everyone upgrades yearly?

This is a fantastic upgrade for anyone NOT on a 6S.

It's also a fantastic upgrade for anyone on a 6S. It's a fantastic upgrade from any iPhone.

I'll be switching to matte black.
After reading the reviews, I am with you. I was going to go for the glossy "jet black," but based on reviews and the probability there will be no inventory in stores for months, the matte black looks to be the better option especially since I will go naked with my phone (that sounds awkward but is still correct :D).

Heavy usage is a highly variable term. If you're talking on 3G, sure the Plus will give hours more, but Internet use and Video are on par with a device that has twice the battery and 65% more weight.

So enjoy your phablet, I enjoy my phone. No need to dump on people who are delighted with a phone that's half the cost and delivers what I need. That's 2-3 days on 1 charge with moderate use, not 4 hrs as you claim.
Sorry that my personal experience offended you in some way. The 7 plus will beat the SE's battery by a long shot buddy.

Looks like you won't be buying an iPhone ever again....

People will get over it, just like we did with the floppy disk, FireWire and Optical disks....

In any case, it's a nice phone but I'm waiting for next year's model which according to rumours should be stunning.

totally different. floppy disks, firewire, etc, were all replaced with something better. The iPhone 7 is less useful than my iPhone 6 by the removal of the jack. All of the options presented so far, included that wretched adaptor, just don't cut it. Looks like this will be my last iPhone too - I'll just move on when I'm ready rather than 'getting over it'.

Coming from The Verge.. yeah I almost believe it. Same guy reviews Apple devices and craps all over them every time. Get someone else to do reviews that are honest.. you don't have to be positive every time but this guy never has anything good to say. Prime example of someone who just likes to hear himself talk.

The review(s) are obviously talking about upgrading from a 6S to 7.

If you phone is years old, from degraded battery life alone anything would be a good upgrade.

I'm awaiting the first batch of issues and judging on how "bad" they are before deciding on the 7. My 6 is still going strong... Until I spilt tea on it the other week and the earpiece no longer works. Calling everyone using speaker isn't the best time.
I really want to upgrade, but at this time I really cannot justify it, or can I?!

Or I could spend 100 dollar to get new battery or 30 dollar for a portable battery.

Much cheaper option. Plus 7 offers nothing exciting. Dual Camera is just HTC M7 setup all over again.

More reason to simply wait to next year. BT 5.0 is due at the end of the year - that will be the real update for wireless audio and and just like the 4.2 update in 2014 you will need a hardware update to take advantage of all the features.
Why invest in a BT4.2 solution running compressed audio now.

What kind of power brick and cable are you using? Also if its an issue, take it into apple and get it replaced? I know many people with 6S's and two with 5SE's, neither of them have complained about it being hot after charging off of a iPad 12W Power brick and third party 6ft lightning cable, so you are either giving it too much power, or have a "bad" phone, it happens.

Also, my co worker who sits next to me, bitches constantly how hot his Nexus 6P gets when he's fast charging it.......

for all people talking about ''wait for 2017, then Apple will come with the real upgrade!", I got some news.... I just learned that the iPhone 9S is the one to wait for!
