I'm holding off on making the decision until Apple's official announcement. Mostly it's hinging on the capabilities of the dual-lens camera, though other new or improved features may factor in.Hanging onto my 6+ until further notice. Got the 128GB due to my iTunes library, but I find myself using spotify most of the time, still 128 is the sweet spot for me.
With that being said, holding off on the upgrade until next year.
The word "premium" has been out of reach for Apple for some time...
I'm not sure about the rest. But my phone has became a time capsule. It contains all the photos since day *who knows*: trip, family, friends, fun, etc. I enjoy scrolling back ~ a timeline of my past.
It might sounds strange. One of my reason to get a bigger storage every time i upgrade my phone – simply to keep my photos within the phone's storage. Before anyone starts bashing. Yes, I do have backup. However, how many of us actually look at the photo which you exported out? Just my preference, totally absurd, I know.
Definitely welcome the bigger storage space.
Indeed we disagree. But at least you don't consider this a Human Right so it's okay.Obviously, Apple charges the lower amount, not the top amount, unless it wants to fully alienate its customer base. Sure, products that address specific use cases are good. However, storage isn't a use case, storage relates to proper function of the device, storage isn't really a "personalized solution". We disagree. That's fine.
I honestly don't need to keep everything synced on my phone. I think that's just a mental defect of hoarding. I can't listen to my entire iTunes playlist on a flight going anywhere around the world. Considering, there are other things to take into account that's killing your time: Tweeting, watching your luggage, TSA, reaching your destination, what you are doing at your destination.
Also, how many photos are you going to take? I think there must be some harmony with what you are doing with the device. Yes, for me 64 GB is overkill, but at the same time too, I think 128 GB and 256 GB is just creating an illusion that you must have that. I honestly don't look at photos from 2007, 2008, 2010 too often that I must have instant access to it on the device.
I agree with gist of your comment but I don't want to have to manage content/data. I just want it all available in case I need something. So I'd love more storage so that I can sync everything and not worry about it. I know this is what the cloud is for, but I've had some bad experiences with cloud services (including iCloud), so I'd rather pay for more local storage and not be reliant upon the cloud.
Just curious, why do you want refocusing on a camera that reaches hyperfocal at about 3ft?3D picture and refocusing, 3D picture and refocusing, 3D picture and refocusing!
Go, go, go Apple!
But I'm almost sure they'll do something lame instead...
Macros and portraits.Just curious, why do you want refocusing on a camera that reaches hyperfocal at about 3ft?
And a $50-100 price increase.
See iPad Pro.
Not really.
In Europe, Russia and other places prices rose dramatically due to currency. Apple is not going to push prices up further.
I don't see anything absurd here-- I do the same thing on my desktop. I never delete a picture, I just keep adding storage as it all fills up. My Aperture library is approaching two TB. Since you're probably taking most of your pictures with your phone, it's the natural place to keep them.I'm not sure about the rest. But my phone has became a time capsule. It contains all the photos since day *who knows*: trip, family, friends, fun, etc. I enjoy scrolling back ~ a timeline of my past.

Great..
16GB is insulting and should have been obsolete years ago.
Depends on what carrier you use and where you travel to. I use Verizon and they have TravelPass which allows me to use my phone in other countries for $10 per day. I'd say that's reasonably priced.

I live where it rains a lot, it would be nice to use my phone when it's raining and not care that it's getting wet. Just because you can't see the need for something doesn't mean there aren't others who could use it.
Their sales figures and brand ranking says otherwise.
Why do you keep 400 videos and 10,000 photos on your phone? Don't you back them up to a hard drive and/or cloud storage?Oh boy, I can't wait, I've got around 400 videos, 10000 photos and 128GB starts to seem like eh-eh, so the 256 will be very much welcomed! Just try not to increase price, and by the way, I just can't imagine who would only need 16GB, even my mum has got 64gb with all her flower and cooking data in it
I remember this girl in front of me in the apple store when i was buying my 6s+ and the apple guy asked her which colour and memory she wants and her BF said to her '' 16 enough, 16enough, lets go '' and she took it, i thought i was gonna faint but yes, people do that.
This is hilarious. The reason people are clambering over 256gb iPhones is so they can carry around every photo that they (and their father) took in the last 40 years? Jesus Christ. That is stuff that should be backed up somewhere, and if you like to have access to every picture in existence then put them on the cloud or create your own server. I just don't understand this mentality. I have several terabytes of media at home. I have hundreds of gigs of photos in the cloud. I'm buying the 32gb model in September. It would be ridiculous for me to start bitching about how I need a 10TB iPhone.I have 13,000+ photos in my Photos library. Several thousand more that I haven't yet digitized or moved into Photos. I hate when a subject like the painted church in Praha, Texas comes up and I don't yet have the photos from that place that my father took in 1975 loaded into my library.
