This whole "thinner at all costs" approach is dumb. I would be happy if Apple never went any thinner than my 15" rMBP for my laptop. I would be happy if they never went any thinner than the current iPhone 6. And if they do go thinner, the strength of the body should never be less than the previous model. Otherwise, stay fat!

At some point, you lost me at thin, just like Apple lost me at 4k displays. I care about power/performance, not stuff that doesn't make sense for me.

ugh. already thin enough. Or how about they start making an iPhone Classic for those who want it. Offer a 4 inch option and a 4.7 inch option and prioritise things like battery life over thinness.

For me peak thinness was reached with the iPhone 5 anyway.

Its time we had some real improvements in battery life. Current battery life is fairly pitiful.

Apple, just do this.

• iPhone Mini - 4 inch
• iPhone Air - 4.7 inch
• iPhone Pro - 5.5 inch

Quad Core A9, 2 GB of Ram, Wireless Charging, Adaptive fast charge, 1080p resolution, 12MP camera. Put this in all 3 so there aren't differences. Make the phones thick enough to accommodate larger batteries (and maybe the cameras flush) so the devices can last at least as much as the leading competitors. kthxbye

(For those of you eagerly waiting to say "get an android", no. I don't want a POS android device, I want iOS.)

I guess that means the camera will stick out even more and battery life will be less than it could be. Both perfectly acceptable trade-offs though as we have all been begging them for thinner phones after all.
I definitely want it thinner (and I'm not be sarcastic)!

Can we please wait 6 months until we start talking about the iPhone 7? Let's see how the markets react to the iPhone 6s.
No we can't .
We like to overreact to rumors about products that don't even exist yet.
Especially when King Ming Dingeling issues NOTES.

As they sing in Phantom of the opera:
Far too many notes for my taste........

It's going to be SO THIN that you can't plug lightening port (or usb c) into the iPhone port it would be smaller than the wire.

Of course it'll be thinner; that's half the marketing for upgraders anyhow.

And guess what! It'll have an A10, marginally better cameras, and a few extra LTE band frequencies! Wooooooo #predictable

Let's see that wireless charging from the AW applied to the iPhone, Apple. Let's see water proof. Let's see thinner top/bottom bezels. Let's see that rumored fuel cell battery. Let's see NFC open up. Get innovative too, not just play catch up.

Perhaps you should go for an android phone?
Open everything up, and get spammed at the same time.
The article doesn' t state it won' t have wireless charging and that won' t be waterproof.

I am one of the people that does want the phones to be thinner, so this is pretty good news for me.

However, one would hope that whatever structural improvements that are in the chassis of the 6s will find its way into the 7, so the bending issue wouldn't be as prevalent despite the thinness.

No 4K is fine, it would be a battery drain, but there had better be a 1080p display and a better battery.

What the heck is Apple doing...not the innovative company they used to be...lets face it!

Yup.

The 5 was good, but the 4S was perfect imho.

If this is true, I can't see myself being with apple in the long haul. I haven't invested much into the App Store and I am just getting sick of them thinking it's okay to make phones super thin and impossible to hold without a case.
I agree about the 4S being about perfect, and after I add the case that's about the thickness that my 6+ is. I just wish that Apple had kept that thickness and used the extra space for a much bigger battery.

I'll probably stick with Apple either way because after a year of using android I couldn't get used to it so I went back to the iPhone and have been loving the software even if I wouldn't mind the phone being a bit thicker.

If they use their so-called "fuel-cell battery" and I can last a whole week without charging my phone, I'm all for it.

This comment is irrelevant IMO.

They have always been for miniaturization and they innovated a LOT in this area. The iPhone 7 won't just be "thinner", they'll have other features to distinguish it.

Thinner than the 6 already is, why? Will it be made out of titanium?? If true, Johnny I've is clearly out of touch with what the majority of Apple's consumers realistically want from their iPhone. IMO give me a longer lasting battery, better camera, and better durability. With Steve Jobs gone and Tim Cook giving total power of design to Johnny Ive, Johnny's become a pretentious douche.
