What i think people need to do is stop overreacting, if you can't afford to buy or don't want to spend that much money on the iPhone 8 that's fine Apple are rumoured to be releasing an iPhone 7s and 7s Plus so they are catering to those who don't want the iPhone 8. All this overreacting at a rumour that then leads to silly comments like "Tim Cook needs to go" or "Apple is doomed" is just nonsense, i can bet that Tim Cook is going no where, not only is Apple doing well profits wise but they are also on course to be the first TRILLION DOLLAR company.
I read a lot of assumptions in what I want or need and to be frank: Apple isn't the only company around anymore that provides reasonable design.
Whats more is that the further time progresses the less of the applications that you rely on actually are still going to be around or be Apple-ecosystem exclusives, Apple's own software, at least which I use, is either abandoned or I'm being pushed to strongly reconsider how much value there is in paying the Apple premium.
Oh don't you worry, there will be a yesteryear tech option for you for the old price.
Nice, covers the phone (got a new iPhone 6S Plus just this year btw), question is how long I will actually be willing to skate second grade Apple just to stay loyal.
As for the numbers, yeah sure, an upwards trend indicates a safe future and that a crash is impossible... Oh wait no. Not at all.
Either way, couldn't care less about which position Apple rides financially as long as I need them and they are up fine by me.
I'm not an investor shares-wise, but customer-wise. To be frank, the higher their margins and profits the more reason I have to be concerned. As a CUSTOMER. Not as a shareholder that I am not.
I cannot understand how that concept seems to not sink with some folks here.
Either way, it's not like I WANT to leave the ecosystem, it's just that instead of experiencing another Aperture moment but with more data, applications and workflows I'd rather slowly ride towards platform-independency.
If just due to the lost trust. (nothing that I enjoy mind you)
