Geskin has posted on Twitter that his sources say:

64GB - $999
256GB - $1099
512GB - $1199

Presumably that would be £949, £1049 and £1149 in the UK.
I wouldn't get my hopes up at that price with vat and tax coming into the country, I'm in Ireland, and if you go to Apple us and check out the current price for iphone 7 plus 128 it is $870, In apple Ireland the same phone is €1030, with the new phone priced at $1100 for mid tier storage that would make the same phone €1250 in Ireland, and I presume in England you are paying more as well, non us country's are paying through the roof, in currency converter $1000 is €840, I really want the new iPhone x but I think the price is ridiculous in fairness.

The prices are inclusive of taxes and VAT obviously ($999 is £772.73 and not £949).

Also since you don't know this, Apple's prices in £ is basically price in $ - 50. That's why the iPhone 7 32GB costs £599 and $649 in US, and the iPhone 7+ 256GB costs £919 and $969 in US.

Just because they have 3 sizes doesn't mean they're producing an equal number of units per size. They probably have some sort of estimate as to which sizes will people go for the most, so they're probably building, say, 3 million 64GB X units, 2 million 256GB X units and 1 million 512GB X units for launch and will adjust the numbers for future production runs depending on the demand for each model.

They need the margin on the ‘X’, I’d be very surprised if they did a 64gb and i’d certainly pay an extra £100 for the next size.

64 GB would be ideal for my needs. But if the OLED model has a mininum of 128 GB and entices me enough, I would upgrade, even though that's way more storage Than I need.

Anyone know why the AW ceramic edition 42mm starts at $1299? Could the iPhone 8/Edition also starts around that range?
Because it's been cleverly marketed to convince the consumer that a 'ceramic' watch is innovative, unique and premium. A lot of buyers will buy it purely because of how much it costs but many will not be aware ceramic watches have been in existence for decades. Apple marketed 'stainless steel' is a similar fashion and the stainless AW carries a bewildering premium. An industry standard material marketed in the smart watch sector is all it was. I own a gold aluminium AW2 myself as I know in a couple of years time it'll be redundant in a drawer.

I'm hoping the iPhone 8 carries a premium for more worthwhile reasons personally.

The margin already exists - The base model 7+ 32GB starts at $769 and the base model 32/64GB 7S+ will also cost the same. However, the base model X 64GB will cost $999, that's $230 more.

The 256GB model will cost $1099, that's $130 more than the 7+ 256GB, which is already $969.

Most people are forgetting that while the X will only start at a price slightly higher than the most expensive iPhone (7+ 256GB), it will only contain 1/4th of the storage of 7+ 256GB. So while you're paying $999 for the base model X, which is only $30 more than the 7+ 256GB, you're only getting 64GB of storage, 1/4th of the 7+ 256GB. So now, in order to get the same storage, you have to pay $130 more.

True Point. But someone has to sell these phones, no matter how expensive they are. Carphone have a new leasing program much like Apple, which will be key to lots of companies to ensure profits don't plummet in the next few years. People are already transitioning to SIMO deals instead of 24 month agreements in the UK, so paying for just handsets will be the next big thing, especially since it lets more of us have a new one every year.

You don't need to tell me about that, I've been Sim only for a few years now, I don't use my phone for calls or messages anywhere near enough to warrant a contract, I use Tesco Mobile for £12 a month and get 4GB data with no speed caps, 1500 cross network minutes and 5000 text! Now I know that wouldn't last the average teenager 5 minutes, but at my age it's fine lol! So I've been buying phones outright for a while.

No, what this highlights more than anything else is that Samsung cannot price their flagships at premium prices, at least not for very long. But boy, how they wish they could.

No, it indicates the consumer has MUCH better value for money with an Android flagship, because they all drop in price, LG, Sony, Motorola... not saying Apple devices aren't nice, I have my seventh iPhone I think, but it makes you think why are you mearly adding to the richest company becoming richer just because they refuse to give back to its customers...

Exactly the boat I'm in. I've never used more than about 40GB for storage. Will get the 128GB if necessary.

Exactly.

I got 128GB for the 7 Plus because I needed more than 32GB but not quite 128GB. Just checked current storage usage, and 64GB would be comfortable enough. Everything is going more cloud based and I have unlimited data too..

You don't really believe Android manufacturers deliberately "give back to rheir customers", do you? They have no other choice but to lower their prices because the market for premium priced Android handsets is quite small. If they could, they would never ever lower their prices, but there is just no demand at those price levels after a small initial rush of enthusiasts. Apple can command a premium for the whole product life cycle, and so they do. Capitalism 101. And btw "value for money" has many other factors other than initial price vs a few compared specs on a list, e.g. after sale services, durability, system software updates, software and hardware eco system, resale value etc. if you think you don't get your money's worth, move to Android, but you know you don't really want to, and for good reasons.

What's this new program that you're talking about?
Flexible Leasing. You can get any iPhone 7 series or Galaxy S8 on a monthly agreement, basically the same as apple iPhone upgrade program. It works out cheaper monthly but doesn’t include any insurance.

You should thank Apple! They are giving 128 GB in 64 GB price tag.

Storage prices have dropped a lot, so it wouldn't be surprising to see base model iPhone to start at 64GB instead of 32GB, they bumped it up from 16GB to 32GB because storage is getting cheaper.

Agreed, Apple don't need 3 different storage capacity for the iPhone 8. A 128 GB and a 256 GB is fine.

64 and 256 I think... Get people to push to upgrade while making 64 the new 32 (only for the special edition though). Then next year 64gb base accross the board.

I can think of 10 premium Android handsets of the top of my head, in the West they sell particularly well, these handsets are better value then Apple, Android doesn't give back to anyone, it's a free operating system, the manufacturers simply do not fix their prices and then threaten anyone who dare to reduce those prices with not being allowed to sell them, that's what Apple does pretty much.
And you get all hose benefits with an Android handset, the Pixel range will get updates for several years. The only reason Apple devices get a premium second hand is because of Apple fixing the prices new in the first place! It's a market rigged by them.

Didn't Gathomblipoob already state:

So why even quote him on that if he said he was
Already purchasing the 128GB?

Since you're so sure of the 64 GB availability, then please provide factual evidence of how you know this. Unless you know this for fact, it's your opinion, Aside from rumors/speculation. Any forum member can go around and state what they believe are facts, which are indeed not always the case of alternative facts.

You're very wrong. Everyone sells their stuff for what the market allows, it's just that Apple stuff is better so the price is higher. End of story. Everything else is just BS. Honest question: if you think you'll find "better value" there, why are you not on Android already?

You don't understand how markets and business works then... and I have an android thanks, had several actually. You know you ARE ALLOWED to actually criticise a company AND use its products.. it's not illegal...

really? even if the company said is, Apple Inc.? ;)

it's funny how people are losing their minds over Apple pricing the next iPhone at around £1000, it's pretty obvious that Apple knows there are people who won't pay that kind of money for the iPhone 8, hence why there will be a 7s and 7s Plus. It's the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and this 8/Edition/X is going to be their way of commemorating that.
