From what rumors are going, we are going to see lightning again, but who knows if it will be the same standard now or some hybrid with USB Type C and quick charge? Apple will not include a wireless charger.
I can see that happening too. Yes the 256->512gb increase is quite incredible!
Though those would mean almost £100 premium over the most expensive android phone seems crazy. Especially for such a tiny screen. But I guess I am not the target market.
But Samsung and LG prices will drop so come January we'll see Note 8's and V30's around the £600 - £700 mark which will make the iPhone a tough sell at around £1000. Still if supply is as limited as the rumours suggest then Apple can basically charge whatever they like!
I likely will not even take the charger out of the box like the last few iPhones. I charge while I sleep and do not care how long it takes. For those who never sleep, Apple offer$ alternative$.
Same here. The supplied charger stays in the box. I actually use a OnePlus One charger.
So £969 for 128GB? I’d probably take that, although the £90 more for 256GB would be tempting.
The max I’m willing to pay is £1100 I think, and even then it’s going to make my eyes water. I have a feeling the phone will be worth it though.
£969 for 64GB I reckon. Basically he same pricing structure as the iPad Pro. That’s the pattern they seem to follow; iPad storage changes first, then iPhone changes to match it. So 64/256/512 is logical.

I’ll pay £1059 - through gritted teeth. If the 128GB model is more than that I will be pissed with Apple.

iPhone prices in £ is basically iPhone price in $ - 50. Look at iPhone 7 prices.
So according to most reports, starting price of OLED iPhone will be $999, so here in UK it will most likely start at £949, but it could be £969 or even £999 instead.

Theorising here and going by the 7 turning into the 8 and an X coming:
8 - 32GB - £599 ($649 US)
8 - 128GB - £699 ($749 US)
8 - 256GB - £799 ($849 US)
8+ - 32GB - £719 ($769 US)
8+ - 128GB - £819 ($869 US)
8+ - 256GB - £919 ($969 US)
Therefore they could do this:
X - 64GB - £949 ($999 US)
X - 128GB - £1049 ($1099 US)
X - 256GB - £1149 ($1199 US)
Now looking at these prices it seems pretty fair enough. The X is a significant hike, at 1/4 of the storage of the 8+ for £30 more. Matching the 8+ on storage at 128GB would still be a £230 increase. For Apple it would work as the phone would start at less than $1000 US (just).
To me those prices would be fair but Apple might just want to go even higher. Maybe they’ll only have 128 / 256, or maybe they’ll do an iPad and do 64 / 256 / 512. Or maybe there will be only 32GB in the entry level like the 7 series.
Just have to accept we won’t know until the 12th and try not to speculate. It’s hard though, annoyingly I’ve been thinking of little else in my down time
I think they’ll skip 128gb for the new model. 64/256/512 makes more sense, plus they can charge more for them.
Apple tax... lots of theorising here but only 1 to £200 separating the guesses. It's a shame that the 7 Plus 128GB could cost £700 after the new models launch as that's what the 6S Plus cost.

Apple doesn't reduce pricing for new models, it either stays the same or increases. The 7S and 7S+ will cost the same as 7 and 7+. OLED iPhone will most likely start at £969, or £999 max.

I know all that. I was highlighting how it's purely Apples tax... and you have just made another guess as the OLED iPhone price.. I think your wrong. Not long till we find out though.
My prediction is based on previous iPhone pricing.
Apple's pricing in £ = price in $ - 50. For example, iPhone 7+ 256GB is $969 in US and £919 in UK. iPhone 7 32GB is £599 in UK and $649 in US. This formula applies to all models and capacities.
Additionally, if you look at the recent pricing leaks form China, the OLED iPhone 128GB (not sure if there will be a 128GB base model or 64GB) starts at 8188 RMB, which is £963.56. China iPhone prices are slightly higher than UK (for example, the same 7+ 256GB costs £21.03 more in China), so this is additional confirmation that the base model OLED iPhone will cost £949.
We'll see the actual pricing on Sep 12, but I am 100% certain it will be below the £1000 psychological barrier.
You are probably right but i am sure it will be the minority rather than the majority that will settle for 64gb if it exists that is. If the base model is 128gb, that will probably cost over a grand.
I'll be happy with 64GB. Most of the storage on my 7 is taken up by photos/videos, which I am happy to keep on iCloud and reserve the on-device storage for docs, apps, etc.
You can't go by pricing elsewhere as the UK has had a massive price increase in Apple products in the last few months.
And those leaked Chinese prices are fake IMO, no evidence to prove otherwise. I also wouldn't go by that pricing anyway as that may not include any taxes.. 20% of 900 is 180 ergo a UK price of the iPhone 8 starting from £1180, and that's taking £63.56 of that Chinese converted price.

The prices were increased last year. There has been no price increase this year. The prices were increased last year because the pound was unstable after the Brexit vote, it’s stabalized now so there’s hasn’t been price bumps.
That backfired on Apple though because the iPhone 7 recorded disappointing sales in the UK last year. Rather than absorbing the cost in the short term, they jumped at the chance of putting 10% on their prices. That didn't go unnoticed by consumers or analysts. I think if they put the prices up again this year then we could really see a decline in the iPhones popularity here going forward. On a personal level I'm noticing people are either upgrading to older devices or keeping their phones into a third year and beyond.
The iPhone 8's reception will be fascinating to watch here in Apples largest European market.
