[doublepost=1487928290][/doublepost]I wouldn't buy this new phone 8 until one year later. Too many new advancements will guarantee that there will be tons of issues to sort out. I experienced this with the 2016 MacBook Pro with touch bar. To me this computer was not ready to be released to the consumer just yet. As a Apple brand loyalist I will no longer by their new products until they are tried and tested by the consumer. Just can't trust Apples hype anymore.
Apple's rumored iPhone with an edge-to-edge OLED display will have longer battery life, which will drive customers with older iPhone models to upgrade at an accelerated rate, according to Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty.![]()
Huberty also expects the high-end iPhone to have a significant form factor change with wireless charging, 3D sensors, and more advanced AI software capabilities, which are all features that have been previously rumored.
An excerpt from Huberty's research note obtained by MacRumors:Her research note said a larger base of customers that own at least a two year old iPhone, particularly in China, has resulted in "pent-up demand" for the significantly redesigned "iPhone 8," and this "supercycle" will help drive sales growth alongside modestly updated 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models. Morgan Stanley raised its Apple stock price target to $154 accordingly.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the "iPhone 8" will have a stacked logic board design that provides room for a larger 2,700 mAh L-shaped battery. As such, while the "iPhone 8" is expected to have a 4.7-inch form factor, Kuo said it will have comparable battery life to a 5.5-inch Plus model. For comparison, iPhone 7 has a 1,960 mAh battery and iPhone 7 Plus has a 2,900 mAh battery.

Not at $1,000 it won't.
Exactly, that's what I was sayingThere will be a 7S at 4.7 inch, a 7S+ at 5.5 inch, and the top of the line iPhone 8 at around 5.0 inches
Everyone has their "opinion" what is heavy use. Not everyone uses the same app as you do nowI get an entire day with very heavy use on my iPhone 7 Plus. Not sure how others have issues with battery life.
Most likely, if you're seeing poor battery life in an older phone it's due to the age of the battery, not overall capacity. My 6 would only function for an hour or so of use before dying, as it had just 40% of the original capacity. That could have been fixed by replacing the battery. Even the advanced batteries in smartphones these days only last about 1000 charging cycles before they begin to diminish.
Yup , on the hardware side most popular Iphone parts are from Samsung
On software side most popular software in AppStore is from Microsoft
On services side when possible, most popular is Google followed by Microsoft
On store side, Apple has stores
On Browser side ,most popular is Chrome
On hardware side it's even more pathetic Apple doesn't roll out updated products yearly like every other tech competitor does. Especially when you know that most of the inner parts are available, made and upgraded by third party tech companies. For the size Apple is today and the small categories they're in it's beyond my comprehension why they don't, except greed.
Chrome better then Safari, Google maps lightyears ahead of maps, Cloud offerings...., even education, creative industry where Apple (future Apple buyers) used to be the biggest player is transitioning to Chromebooks and Surface.... What happened to my beloved company?
Apart from that, Apple is killing it's own ecosystem too. No more displays, routers, servers.
Okay, one thing they excel in compared to the competition: WATCHBANDS
Don't even Apples own employees take notice what's happening? The company has lost his soul. Although I admire their stand on human rights/equality/environment it's no excuse to make those extraordinary big profits and still selling 4 year old hardware as if it was premium and new.
It was never $200. You were paying extra monthly for your phone in your cell service. Now it's simply out in the open.I liked when iPhones were $200.

So I only get cruise control, 12 speakers, premium audio, leather interior, back-up camera, invisibility cloak, levitation, and time travel if I buy the bigger, more expensive car? But what if I want all of the upgraded features on the subcompact model? So you only get the OLED display, longer battery life, wireless charging, 3D sensors, etc if you buy the larger more expensive model. What about the ones that want the smaller regular model but want the upgraded features?
But isn't it kind of sad your phone 'wears out' so quickly?

Think you know what will happen to the "beloved company"..up to you if you want to continue to vote for that with your wallet. I stopped after Ipad 3 giving them a dime.
Apl desperately needs to pivot. Not sure they can honestly.
They are heading straight off a cliff...currently, Stock price is "smoke and mirror" they have nothing to replace Iphone not even an inkling of any relevant product after. Throwing darts aimlessly everywhere.
Planet of Apps is an embarrassment, its silly now. Hump case, Apl remote, airpods, emoji bar, Itunes all silly expensive junk
They have literally ZERO cloud play. (People bash MSFT for "missing Smartphones a small segment of MSFT)
What will they say about Apl missing the cloud?
These 10-15-20 yo "raging apl fans" are aging out and growing silent... won't be long. 20%...15%...12%...10%...
I highly doubt any "new fans " are being created, rather "at-risk" ones everyday
See AOL and PetRock
Microsoft did pivot it look at the chart..apl not so much
On to better...its 2017 not 2007
You mean you liked not knowing how much you were actually paying.I liked when iPhones were $200.
The 4.7" screen iPhone 7s won't be smaller than the iPhone 8.So you only get the OLED display, longer battery life, wireless charging, 3D sensors, etc if you buy the larger more expensive model. What about the ones that want the smaller regular model but want the upgraded features?
