As for the Nokia N95 - are you sure that supports Flash? Even Opera 9.5 - which is as good as Safari - doesn't.
Yes it does, so does my Nokia E65

N95 really? E90 maybe....well the other phone i was deciding on was the Nokia N95 which DOES support flash
btw ive never had problems running flash on my desktop or laptop ( windows xp) so i know its an apple issue and not specifically an iphone problem

The general public should stop being idiots. Also can I file a complaint about people complaining to much?Who is everyone? You and I knew there was no flash but the general public doesn't since they don't all hang out here on the forums. This is about whether advertising is accurately portraying how the iphone works--and it doesn't.

"You never know which part of the internet you'll need ... which is why all the parts of the internet are on the iPhone"
Time for me to nit pick:
Internet: An interconnected network of computers
Web: A series of interlinked text files conforming to a protocol developed initially by Tim Burners-Lee for display in web browsers
The iPhone can reach all of the internet because it supports TCP/IP. The iPhone can display all of the web. The iPhone can not display proprietary extensions to the web.
Granted, the "Internet" has become a synonym for the web which may lead to confusion. But, Apple didn't say anything that wasn't true!
Which is why it is said to be misleading rather than a lie.
if you need flash that bad ( i couldn't careless). then use a real computer.
The iPhone safari experience is pretty good - thats a fact.
However, the iPhone blatently cant view the WHOLE internet / web whatever, as it doesnt support flash or Java, which some websites are solely based upon. This is also a fact.
Therefore if you look at it in black and white, like the ASA have to, Apple were wrong, and the advert was misleading. There is no argument here...
in response to the OP, java and flash are not "every third-party technology out there". if someone came complaining about silverlight not being supported I'd think they were suffering from meningitis. I can see, however, why apple decided to not include these technologies: security, stability, and their relative unimportance when it comes to web standards. JS and AJAX re supported, which is enough for me. I'd rather not login to some page and get that stupid "OH MY GOD! NO WAY!" or "YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO WIN A NEW IPOD" ad.
