I'm coming from my 15 Pro Max and have heard others who have similar iPhones making the switch to the new Air. I preordered my Space Black Air and now feel I made the right choice. As for the camera, I have a Nikon D850 and several lenses to use for serious picture taking and as for the speaker, I have bluetooth speakers to use or my car's stereo to hear calls on so having one speaker is not an issue for me either.

What got my attention is just how thin and strong this Air is and that it comes in Space Black color. To me this is the phone to get for a person not doing serious video or serious work. My new Air will get delivered today and I will be spending the day getting it set up and start using it as my new main phone. I already know I will love the lightness of the iPhone and style.

ill be honest, I didnt care for the air. its thin, but (maybe im just use to the M4 iPad Pro) it wasn't earth shaking as the hype made it seem. I dont care for the polished rail (hated it on the old pros) and to me the thinness makes it feel a bit sharper in the corner while holding it. It's also not as light as I expected.

The pros are chunky by comparison, but the rounded edges make it feel much better in my hand. Just my opinion, I'm glad to see other people are loving it. I love that Apple is trying something new and different, its just not for me.

If I didn‘t need the Pro cameras, I would 100% go with the Air. Absolutely awesome in-hand. The premium feeling and polished sides reminded me a lot of the iPhone X.

I already love mine, Tried the speaker, it's perfectly acceptable to me, took some pictures, looks fine, and it is definitely so much easier to hold than my 15 pro max. Will see how the battery does, but so far so good. And I don't feel like I downgraded at all with the display size coming from max.

Oh wow! I love my new iPhone Air! It feels awesome in my pocket and it looks absolutely gorgeous. There’s a coffee shop next to the AT&T store so I went there for breakfast after picking up my phone and people walking by my table were doing a double take and looking at my phone. I haven’t had that happen in years.

The Air actually looks like the top of the line premium phone this year. It looks like the Titanium Apple Watch and the 17 Pro looks like the cheaper Aluminum Apple Watch.

I was using a 15 Pro Max and that was just too bulky and heavy for me. I couldn’t imagine upgrading to the 17 Pro Max which is even larger and heavier. When I would wear a blazer the weight of the 15PM made my jacket hang lower on that side. I also like to wear slim style jeans and that massive Pro Max looked huge in my pocket. The specs don’t do the Air justice. It is narrower, shorter, and much lighter than the 15 Pro Max. I am so happy with my decision. I would’ve paid more for this than the 17 Pro Max if need be.

And I don’t feel like I’m giving up much in screen size. 6.5” vs 6.7” is hard to tell the difference. I was unwilling to downsize to the regular Pro because going down to 6.3” felt like giving up too much. But the Air’s 6.5” is the PERFECT SIZE. It is the best size for me in balancing pocketability and usability.

As I walk with my phone in my shorts I’ve had to periodically tap my pocket to see if my iPhone is there! It’s so light compared to my 15 Pro Max that I panic cuz it feels like I left my iPhone somewhere. BUT IT’S THERE! I love this iPhone!

Job well done Apple 👏

If you’re reasonably close to a store it would be cool to check it out in person. But yeah, the Air makes my 15 Pro Max feel like a brick.

I canceled it lol. I will be picking up the space black tomorrow along with my ultra black titanium, can’t wait!!! I think the reviews convinced me enough and the Air is fine for my use-case especially for someone who always prefer thinner phones.

I'm a big fan of having a good dedicated camera too. At the end of the day there will always be a lot of pictures I take on my phone, though, just because I'm not likely to have even a compact mirrorless on hand at the exact moment something comes up. But, IMO, iPhone cameras have definitely reached the level where they're very good for snapshots and even more. And I don't think you need the most massive Pro Max models to take good photos either. Of the three lenses on my 15 Pro, I think I use the 1x lens 90% or more of the time anyway.

Exactly this. I asked myself how often do I use the pro features that are missing on the air and it’s not often other than just basic snapshots.

Add me to the list of early positives for the Air. I love my 16 Pro Max, but after retiring last year, I just didn't need that much of a phone anymore. So far I really like the form factor and light weight of the Air, but it's still early and I haven't done a bunch with it yet. I am sure I'll find things to complain about before it's said and done. I can always fall back to my 16PM should I need to.

It’s a phone. How is it a beast to deal with?

People are mislead by the weight and dimensions into thinking Air isn't that significantly lighter. Calculate the densities for each phone and then it'll be very clear:

Base 17 is 18% more dense than Air
17 Pro is roughly 30% more dense than Air
17 Pro Max is a whopping 45% more dense than Air

Incidentally, that density is also basically the battery capacity difference. So the bigger batteries are making people "pay" in terms of device weight. Physics and math don't lie.

Even though the Air is thinner and lighter I’m starting to feel the same.. a bit sharper when I hold it and I find the 17 Pro more comfortable to use…

Loving mine. Speaker is plenty loud for the few times I use it (say, podcasts during a shower). Camera is great for what it has. The design is just so striking … using it reminds me of older devices like the X, the 4, Blackberry 9000, Nokia 8800. It just feels like a premium product. I’ve been running iOS 26 on my 14 Pro for months so there’s nothing particularly compelling about the actual UX, but I just keep wanting to hold it and find stuff to do with it.

I think the transfer and sync process sucks the fun out of new phones. There was always something to rethinking the layout, the apps, the settings… that my device functions just like my 14 Pro did this morning (wallpaper and all) is a little anticlimactic of the total package experience. Probably better for most people though.

Picked up a bumper but don’t like it—think I’ll swap to the Beats case. I don’t want to use a case at all but will need SOMETHING when the little monster wants to watch Disney+ at a restaurant or something.

All in all, I’m thrilled with my choice.

Can anyone tell me if the Air lets you edit audio on a video (from the camera app, nothing fancy) to select in-frame, Studio, Cinematic etc? I’m not sure if that’s only a Pro feature.

Also how has nobody uploaded photos they’ve taken from the Air yet?

I don’t find it sharp at all. This is the first iPhone I will be using caseless. I will be purchasing Apple Care. Only thing I’m putting on is a screen protector.

I love it so far. I prefer a light/thin phone and do not need all the pro features. I also find the pros to look bulky and a little tooo “unaesthetic” for me.

The one speaker thing does not bother me I’ve already watched some videos and had no complaints. I was worried that would be an issue. The only thing I miss and I knew I would is the .5x zoom. I did like to use that.

Otherwise very happy with it and only using the apple bumper as a case for now.

Black 512gb. I love mine so far, coming from a 13 mini. Giving it a run for a bit to see if I can get used to the giant jump in screen size. The thinness definitely makes it easier to use one-handed than even the thicker 6.3" pro's. I can't help but long for a smaller device, even so. Camera is leaps and bounds better than the 13 I'm coming from as well, don't care much about ultrawide and never had telephoto. Back is much more of a fingerprint magnet than I was expecting, not excited to see all the posts about it scratching easily.

Even during setup, heat was negligible.
