I don’t think battery would be an issue for me. I have wireless charging at my desk (where I spend most of my day) and in our car. I’m almost never out and about for a full day without access to a charger. And even when I’m out and about I enjoy reality more than staring at an iPhone. Reality has better resolution too. 🙂

Speaker quality is a non-issue for me.

And I’ve slowly realised that the lesser camera quality wouldn’t be an issue either. Our Pro phones take great pictures but it’s not like we do anything with them. We don’t have them printed, we don’t use them full size, nothing. They just sit in the camera roll and every now and then we’ll look at some for nostalgia reasons.

Seeing what the 17 Pros can do with photo and video, it almost feels like overkill for a selfie here and there.

More than willing to trade in the brick size Pro with all the features that I don’t need for something ridiculously thin and light.

I just am not seeing any gold on it. Pictures above are next to the blue Fold 7 and then on top of my space gray Macbook Air. It's incredibly white for light gold. I even double checked the box after opening it to be sure they didn't hand me the wrong one. 😅
I spent so much time deciding between sky blue, cloud white, and light gold. The last day, I've never been able to tell them apart in a review video, lol.

It's just initial but I had to give my 4 cents.

1. The most striking thing about the phone is the weight and I feel thats not talked about enough. It is feather light in the hand and you don't really feel much when holding it. I like the blue color I got as its subtle View attachment 2552910

2. The speakers are just fine and not an issue at all. If you need stereo speaks 4 inches from each other that are the size of a corn kernel then cool.

3. The screen looks better than my 16 pro max when side by side which is a plus but no idea why.

4. It's thin but still feels good in the hand and not slippery.

5. The shape and design makes me feel like it needs a MagSafe wallet or nice leather case

6. The camera even though it's a single lens is really good. I noticed that I only really used the one lens and the different modes so I am fine.

7. last is that it feels like an iPhone of old and not a phone trying to keep up with bigger is better and I like that. In the pocket it gets lost also. Like you have to check to see which one you put it in.
iPhone air isn’t for me but great review. I love the users who actually buy/use and review than spread narratives with out owning a device.

id never buy a foldable. Moving parts are allays an issue, especially opening it 50 to 100 times a day
Pixel 10 Pro Fold has an gearless hinge, so maybe Apple will do something similar. Also, most folks with a foldable don’t unfold them 50-100 times per day because of the outside display.

its very intuitive and much better than changing the phone angle cause it happens naturally. It should have happened 3 phones ago
Hmm interesting. So maybe there's no dip in portait ability. That bodes well. Sorta considering getting the air for my wife instead of the base 17. Or getting both and returning the one she doesnt want.

For those with the Air, will you be using cases? If so, do the cases negate the thickness (referring to full cases, not the bumper which leaves the camera exposed)?

The colours don’t surprise me, it’s the same with the MacBook Air. We bought one last month and I asked the salesman if they had any blues to look at - turns out I was already looking at the blue one. It’s almost identical to the silver model unless you look from just the right angle.

I must admit I am tempted by it, but I would miss the cameras, Lidar and microphone direction options on the Pro. I don’t use them daily but I am glad they’re there when I need them.

I have a suspicion that the compromises of this year will be upgraded next year too, the iPad line pretty much has the Air getting Pro features a year or two later. So wouldn’t be surprised if we see the wide angle lens etc next year in the Air, and a few other features that make this year’s feel redundant sooner than usual.

But I will be near a store this weekend and who knows, the in-hand feel may convince me. After all, holding and using it is a constant experience, versus needing the Pro features now and again.

I call the colours white, cool white and warm white since they are basically the same with a slightly different colour temperature.

Never got a white phone before, always go black. I ordered both colors to see which I like better, but leaning towards white at the moment just because it seems to go better with the “air” aesthetic…. Figured if I’m going to try white one of these days, the iPhone Air would be good one to try it with…

it just looks like one of apple's many whites

I think it depends on her personality. If shes a minimalist then she will be fine.

Don’t get me wrong. Slim is sexy and the air is still available in every single configuration at my local store.

I just might have to swap from the pro and join the dark side with a cyclops camera and mono speaker. Then I’ll be like, are you deaf? Who needs two speakers in 2025? Use both of your ears to listen, you daft dummy. Problem solved. How dare you talk about decent sound…don’t you have any empathy for the hearing impaired? And who tf needs 8x zoom?? Are you a lazy Oompa Loompa? Just get your steps in and move 400 ft closer.

But really, I’m on the fence and might have to swap my pro order later today. @C. Robert more pics please.

Yeah I thought that was odd in the keynote. No need to mention the battery pack there, just release it alongside the phone. Its inclusion in the keynote just fuelled expectations in the wrong way. I’ve been using my Air pretty much non stop browsing and scrolling for 8-9 hours since charging it to 90% and it’s at 33%. That’s a massive improvement over my 14PM and I’m quite satisfied with it.
Whats your current screen time?

Coming to the Air from a 14 Pro.

It’s still syncing apps from the cloud and the phone is kinda warm.

When I went to look at my photos, I got this message. I’ve ever seen it on any iPhone since 2007.

This happened to me setting up my 16P.

how many of you Air owners going to by the magsafe battery?

Probably not since I don't foresee having to use it very often. I'll wait for a slim 15W+ option. I prefer a quick top up rather than carrying around both for extended periods.

Like several others have mentioned, the pictures don’t do it justice. You gotta hold and see this thing in person. Stopped by the store today just to see all the new phones and colours. Handled the Pros, and then went to pick up the Air and it was genuine moment of disbelief, and that was with a lot of high expectations for how thin and light it will be.

I’m coming from an iPhone 15 Pro Max myself and definitely want something smaller (I’m done with the Max size, especially since they’ve been getting heavier after the 15). Kind of torn between the 17 Pro and the Air.

The Air feels like such a fresh new product direction, but also love what they’ve done with the Pros. The more rounded aluminum body feels so nice in the hand, especially the 6.3” Pro (really love that I can use it one handed and reach across the screen with ease).

In the end its all personal preference, but gotta say its nice to see some new ideas and excitement this year.
