For those with the Air, will you be using cases? If so, do the cases negate the thickness (referring to full cases, not the bumper which leaves the camera exposed)?

The colours don’t surprise me, it’s the same with the MacBook Air. We bought one last month and I asked the salesman if they had any blues to look at - turns out I was already looking at the blue one. It’s almost identical to the silver model unless you look from just the right angle.
No case, no screenprotector.

AppleCare+

I’m so close to canceling my pro max order and get the air instead. I’m not a big camera type of guy and always used my phones naked and prefer thinner phones. Coming from the max 6.9” screen is the downsizing in screen size a big adjustment or did you get used to it right away?

I’m coming from a 15 Pro Max and the Air in person felt very close to the size of the Max. But also as someone who prefers thinner phones without a case the 6.5” Air feels like a no brainer (especially if you’re not worried about one camera lens).

Wait for it……. If only they made a 5.4 in iPhone air mini pro hahaha. Sorry had to spam this tread.

I’m going to check it out today at the Apple Store I, sure Johnny I’ve would be proud but 6.5 in for someone who is actively reducing screen time is a just a waste. Ironically the compromises the air make aren’t really an issue for me.

Man I miss my 13 mini. I still have it if I got the new Apple Watch with satellite I should be able to hike and still have emergency services.

Can’t get mine to log into my iCloud, verrrry frustrating, device is lovely though.

Never had a problem setting up a new iPhone before.

I think I’m gonna cancel my pro max order and try the air.

Have you considered getting a real camera? I got myself a Nikon Z6II two years ago and I would never go back to a phone for more serious/important photography. Sure, it can be annoying lugging around a big camera at times, and I don’t take it everywhere of course, but I’ve found it such a massive jump from tiny phone camera lenses. Having the Nikon has made the move to the Air very easy.
I'm a big fan of having a good dedicated camera too. At the end of the day there will always be a lot of pictures I take on my phone, though, just because I'm not likely to have even a compact mirrorless on hand at the exact moment something comes up. But, IMO, iPhone cameras have definitely reached the level where they're very good for snapshots and even more. And I don't think you need the most massive Pro Max models to take good photos either. Of the three lenses on my 15 Pro, I think I use the 1x lens 90% or more of the time anyway.

Don’t get me wrong. Slim is sexy and the air is still available in every single configuration at my local store.

I just might have to swap from the pro and join the dark side with a cyclops camera and mono speaker. Then I’ll be like, are you deaf? Who needs two speakers in 2025? Use both of your ears to listen, you daft dummy. Problem solved. How dare you talk about decent sound…don’t you have any empathy for the hearing impaired? And who tf needs 8x zoom?? Are you a lazy Oompa Loompa? Just get your steps in and move 400 ft closer.

But really, I’m on the fence and might have to swap my pro order later today. @C. Robert more pics please.
early adopters are the ones who buy the pro. Christmas and birthdays are where the air's will sell in higher numbers. I have two kids and both will get airs when I upgrade them.

Went to the Apple Store to check out the air and it actually feels amazing in hand , like feels much better then the 17 and 17 pro and pro max , even the alum feels cheaper..

Went there thinking I’d like the white better but ended up liking the black better , but that being said ; I wish it was a glossy finish on the back to match the polished sides. The matte finish kinda looked cheap imo.

That being said the speaker compared to my 15pro was noticeably worse , like I knew it wasn’t going to be as good but it was almost quiet in comparison (I know it’s loud in the store with all the people).

I think it future iterations I will buy but vs my 15pro it wasn’t enough to make me switch.

If I still had my 12mini I’d of bought the air in a heartbeat!

Well it might replaced it to you, but it will never replace it to people who prefer a MacBook. The same way foldables will never replace or make standard phones obsolete that’s my point I’m trying to get across 🙂
Thats why I don't speak in generalities. I am mobile in my job, take a lot of notes, pictures, and brief often. For me a Mac or pc just do everything boring in life. Everyone's needs are different.

Congrats, it's a very nice feeling and looking device.

I wasn't planning on upgrading this year but almost got swayed by the Air. I really want a camera that can take macro shots so my wallet is safe for now.
