Congrats! I’m a huuuge fan of the Air’s form factor. Let’s be real though. You’re clowning the need for speakers, but you’d have go to back 11 generations to find an iPhone without stereo sound. Go ahead and turn that baby in landscape mode and play a YouTube video. Then compare it to any iPhone from the past decade.

Just use AirPods/bluetooth etc etc. Nah the speakers are there for a reason. Speakerphone, sharing content, playing something on the fly. The next iteration of the air will 100% have dual speakers.
The speaker on my Air is loud and clear. Plays music and video really nicely.

I honestly can barely tell the difference enough to notice, let alone care.

At maximum volume it’s a loud speaker. More than good enough for doomscrolling, YouTube, loudspeaker calls IMO.

The camera situation is a pretty serious downgrade if one is coming from a Pro phone.

I'm not sure this is the future of all phones.

Apple knows what they are doing, they likely have a roadmap for the Air that culminates in the Glasswing phone they are working on for release as 20th anniversary.

The Pro line will continue for quite some time but I think they have the data that shows that 90% of users are fine with just the two lenses and likely you see an Air that either has a dual lens design or just has two cameras and that shows up in a cycle or two.

Definitely this is an iPhone X situation where the Air is the new design language for iPhone and is expected to make up the bulk of the sales at some point in the future.

Incredible in-hand. Needs to be held to be understood.

Not a fan of the shiny sides.

Speaker stinks.

Makes the 17 Pro Max feel like a dated tank.

I really couldn't stand the shiny bezels on the older Pros. Hated the way they felt. I'm wondering if they'll be as a much of a problem for me on the Air since it's a lot thinner and lighter.

The matte feel is actually one of the only things I'm looking forward to about the 17 Pro Max.

Bench marks are useless compared to real world use.

I mean it will matter for gamers or those who use real CPU munching apps. A lot of us don't care to game on our phones. The ones who do should get a regular iPhone or an iPhone Pro.

Appears that this first version of Air is a test case to measure public acceptance.

Second gen models may include two cameras, two speakers and a slightly larger display to compete with the Galaxy Edge which currently has a leg up over the iPhone Air.

Well that's you. Many of us use the speakers all the time.
I use the speaker and im using it now and it's a good sound. Im saying that I wouldn't add any weight for another speaker thats the size of a single rice. It's fine that you like that but I just don't need it. if I turn my speakers that loud then I should be wearing headphones and respect others

They are ok on the black iPhone Air, since they are really black as well.
But not on the white versions, those chrome bezels would distract me too much.

Material wise for the iPad Pro I think the 16 pro max / titanium was the best. maybe next year again.
