I though the guide to fix this is GREAT!!! I fixed My iPod touch with it thinking it was brokeded :/ ... Anyways...Once I found out it was this was the problem i was having I fixed it using your guide! Also, some report it fixed in 2.1 but it is NOT!!! I will post a log from xcode once it rehappens (****ing Xcode reloading the god damn console file) Can someone find out where the HardWare Checks are? Because if you can find them, I can make an cydia package to fix it...

That said, I'm surprised to hear that you've experienced an ALoD in 2.1 - I actually had one too, but it was after an Installer crash. Running non-jailbroken firmware, I've not experienced any problems (and I've TRIED to make it crash - 90+ apps installed, deleting, adding/upgrading both in iTunes and directly on the phone - rock solid stable) ...
