Iphone has sell over 10 million iphones and with all of this they will sell even more, they will fix the network issues and the bend issue also appears on the iphone 5 and after some months nobody cares, apple keep selling millions of iphone 5.

If you take care of your iphone it will not bend, exactly like the iphone 5

iOS is a far better mobile OS then any other out there. Is your 11yr old daughter capable of evaluating mobile OS systems to another? has she used development programs like eclipse or Xcode?

.

Maybe you don't have kids and don't understand. Of course she doesn't evaluate Mobil OS systems and development programs. When the national news tells her many iPhone users can't use their phones she was concerned for me and asked about it.

MORE than 10 million units sold just over last weekend...YEP, industry joke!! Not!

I agree with previous poster..."bend-gate" are nothing more than abusers. Apple should have tested iOS 8.01 a little more before releasing. Apple, It's OK to "react"...just don't OVER-REACT.

It's on the main stream news as well today-Can't make phone calls and Finger Print ID messes up with the new iOS 8.01 not to mention some are bending. Good lord, what next.

I've never bought a phone at launch until this year with iPhone 6. I've always waited to see reviews and what not after it's been released. I did this for the first time this year too.

The phone becoming an industry joke. Even my 11 yr old daughter been asking me if my phone is bending and if I have no service because of update. Does this really embarass you?

Seems to me apple really messed this one up. The thin form factor going to lead to a lot of bending especially the 6+. Not well thought out. The ios8 is not stable at all and then the joke of an update they did yesterday was a disaster. This is expected with ANY new (innovative of software based) technology product they day it comes out. It only does not apply if the product is made with parts and software that has existed for a while.

Now I get to go to work and listen to all the android boys break my chops saying I got a cheap device and now the one thing you can always say was good (iOS) is broken. Obviously Android users will break your chops. I am assuming you have no favorite sports teams? It's life to take jabs at people when you have the chance, its mostly in good fun.

Personally only issue I've experienced personally is slow wifi from work (my home is excellent). Same, but my work wifi has always sucked..

Any one else feeling a little embarrassed right now for running out and buying an unpolished and seems beta product?Welcome to being an early adopter. It happens, this is why I chose not to update to 8.0.1, also why I initially did not get the 6+.

So all in all, none of the issues affected me. I bought the product immediately, but given no big issues was planning on waiting to do software updates. Happily, it paid off as OIS8 had no BIG issues and I did not rush for 8.0.1. As for the 6+ bending, that is common sense for people with a massive and thin phone. If you wear pants so tight it bends the phone then you should expect it.

Yeah, I think its time for you to disconnect yourself from social media or something, OP. Whatever Apple does, good or bad, people will talk about it. I have no idea why people think Apple has to do EVERYTHING perfect! They may aim for perfection but doesn't mean they will hit everything out the ballpark on the first try.

Industry joke? While other phone makers may love laughing at :apple: and keep the issues on the news the other phone companies would die to have the opening day lines and record pre orders :apple: gets.

Besides glitches and problems around launches please tell me long term problems iPhone users suffer with? I've been using an iPhone for at least 5 years now and I can't think of any major problems, I can't even recall any minor inconveniences I've had compared to my non smart phone days dealing with Samsung and Motorolla....

Someone sat on their phone and it broke and you feel embarrassed about this? Really?

My god the hand-wringing over this is hilarious, even for the often dramatic world of macrumors. :D

And iOS was great until just right now?! How quickly we forget.

am i embarrassed that a handful of people who put excessive force on their phones bent them?

not really.

did you know that if you put androids in the microwave they catch fire?

iOS8 is pretty solid, definitely an improvement over 7. There are still a lot of bugs and glitches with other apps that haven't updated yet, but it's been noticeable better until this recent update broke more phones than it fixed.

I'm just referring to how much people hated 7.

I don't think Samsung thinks that the iPhone 6 & Plus are a joke. Otherwise why did they move up the release date of the Note 4? I also don't think that the 10 million owners of the new iPhones think their phones are a joke.

I agree with others that the media is doing what the media does well: to saturate the news cycle with "bendgate". But how many real, documented bending issues are there really?

The biggest issue that Apple has right now is iOS 8 and especially iOS 8.0.1. The update should never have been approved by beta testers let alone released to the public. Apple needs to fix all the bugs in iOS 8 ASAP.

i take it you didn't update to 8.0.1 and wound up with an ipod touch :) happened to me, fix hasn't worked, and i'm on day 2 with an effectively useless phone. not real happy personally. and apple seems to be their usual nonchalant selves about it all.

I bet you worry when you cross the street too... The "bend-gate" is overblown and means nothing until we see actual numbers of users affected. Never will you see 100% perfect devices out of manufacturing. No matter if it's a phone or a car... their is always faults in some(that's what you get with mass cheap Chinese production)..

iOS 8.0.1 on the other hand is bad. Clearly they didn't do a good job in QA...

Not what I said..

Per reports, phone bending while in FRONT pockets..that's a major issue if true. I don't carry a purse, so that's where I put my phone.

IOS bricking peoples phones..major issue

Keep your head in the sand all you want, just be happy these issues haven't affected you.

Embarrassed is probably the wrong word..I'm not embarrassed..just feeling like a chump, jumping out day 1. I'm not a young kid or tech geek living in momma's basement. I'm a 44 yr old married guy with 2 kids, supporting my family. I was excited about new phone..told everyone how excited I was and now they all asking if my phones OK.

And for all the rest of you saying "stop worrying what others say" Give it a rest..we all care what our family and friends say..now if your anti social and have no friends, then I can understand you saying that.

I make my own decisions in life and have done very well for myself. When the people I live with and deal with on an every day basis are asking me questions every other day about the phone I told them was going to be so great..yeah I feel like a chump

No, not embarrassed. But disappointed and a little angry that Apple have implemented IOS 8 with what are obviously serious and basic bugs. Even more frustrating are the features we were at least led to believe would function, but which are inexistent.. Access to iCloud Drive was a major feature for me and I moved several thousand files to this system in the clear expectation I could access them from my IOS devices..

Not only are they not accessible, but there has not been a single word from Apple to explain if or when that might change.

Oh, and for good measure, we still cannot attach anything other than a picture to an email sent from an IOS device..

I have an entirely Apple ecosystem and love the general feeling of quality, security and ease of use, however IOS is seriously flawed and requires major attention rapidly, together with more and regular information from Apple explaining what is going on, what we might expect and in what time frames.

Yeah, who cares if Apple releases an OS that kills phone functionality on their phones? Only haters, right?

Well....as someone who owned only Android phones for 3 years I can guarantee that this one blip on the radar doesn't compare to some of the buggy updates over the years on Android phones. I've had a loss of signal happen on an Android update at least twice over the years.

So yeah.....perspective.
