Do you remember exactly what you were worrying about one year ago? How about one month ago? This too shall pass.

Return the phone if you are this easily swayed by other people's opinions. That is your right and choice. But put things in perspective. Daughter asks you "daddy is your phone bent?". You can say "no dear, daddy takes care of his things".

Again, its your choice on how you react to other people.

Who gets embarrassed over a phone?....hard to belive some people are ruffled over a device......

Wait until somebody in your family undergoes a real health problem, save your anxiety for when younreally need it, not over a phone....

ICloud Hack, HealthKit, Streaming Iphone 6 debacle, Bendgate, IOS 8.0.1, stupid U2 album, Beats Music aquisition, Apple Watch not releasing until 2015. I think some people are a little naïve to think everything is lolly dolly ok. This does make me wonder what the heck is going on at Apple right now.

To address the level of ridiculousness that is this post would take more time than I care to devote to it.

However, let's talk Apple Watch, not releasing for perhaps 5-6 months after it was announced. Name a manufacturer that doesn't annouce products weeks or months before actual release. Go on, I will wait.

My guess here is that they are using the time to try to improve battery life, if possible.

perhaps i should have explained here (like i have in several other threads) that i can't restore (getting an unknown error), and itunes will not accept the 8.0 software i downloaded. so as of now none of the official fixes is working for me and tech support wasn't able to figure out why after 2 hours on the phone last night.

Don't argue, "find more posts by this user" will explain.

You people are funny..anti social..internet dweebs that think there post count defines them..

For your info..I joined this month because I knew I was buying iphone 6 and want to get some info and see peoples feelings on different aspects. Is that not normal? What other agenda would I have smart guy.

How is this a "negative" thread? I pay good money for a product and expect it to be the top of the line. I have a wife with 5s, daughter with my old 5 and my son with ipod touch..so it's not like I'm a person that doesn't own these products trying to stir the pot.

I'm finding these forums full of young, mid 20's tech geeks that discount any discussion that is not kissing apple's you know what.

I don't know, dude. You start posting on Sept 10 and now have 66 posts already. You've been super active and not just at posting, but at starting threads with a negative slant.

You're the "6+ is only for women" guy.
You started a thread talking about the new Samsung commercial making fun of the 6+.
You posted that a friend of yours tells you there will likely be a recall on the 6+.
You started this thread proclaiming the iPhone as an industry joke.

Your posting behavior is really weird.

Oh, and I'm not in my 20s, but I would consider myself a tech geek. I work with Windows, Linux, and Mac stuff. The iPhone 6 is my first iPhone. Check my post history and you won't find any shilling for Apple or anyone else.

Take a break and don't be so sensitive.

This Gruber article is pretty good - he feels that Apple has a lot more up their sleeves than just trying to extend battery life. I hope he is right and I am dying to get my hands on the Apple Watch.

I don't follow people around trying to determine their history, so that explains my first reply.

Wipe the thing out and head to an Apple store, or a friend's house with iTunes.

i have an appt with apple tomorrow night (earliest available). at that point i will have been without a usable phone for over 2 days. they're certainly not going to take a walk-in today.

If you go to an Apple Store, I am confident that you will emerge in short order with a brand new phone. Or, at worst, they will fix yours up.

You might be wrong about that. If it were me, I'd go in, grab someone's attention, and say that you got 8.0.1 and cannot restore to 8.0. Define why your case merits immediate attention and I suspect you will get it. Better yet, call the store and ask to speak to the manager, and explain. I bet you will be told to come in immediately.

i might give it a shot and see what happens. it's only about 10 minutes away.

1. Never said it was "for women" I said I thought most women would have the bigger phone since it will fit in a purse compared to a pocket..seems I may have been right with the phone bending

2. I thought the commercial was funny, as did others..go back and look at my post..I defended apple..years ago I had the Galaxy S3..returned it because it was so glitchy

3. A friend of mine did tell me they may have a recall on 6 + phones because of bending..

4. This thread is my feelings as of right now.

Not sure what you're trying to prove..I stand behind every post I've made here.

You know you're winning (Apple) when the hate is so strong.

Yep. I made a similar point about the U2 album. The strong hate and people overreacting over getting a free album ended up being better advertising than a smash hit single would have given them.

Better to have bad press than to be irrelevant.

I've never bought a phone at launch until this year with iPhone 6. I've always waited to see reviews and what not after it's been released.

The phone becoming an industry joke. Even my 11 yr old daughter been asking me if my phone is bending and if I have no service because of update.

Seems to me apple really messed this one up. The thin form factor going to lead to a lot of bending especially the 6+. Not well thought out. The ios8 is not stable at all and then the joke of an update they did yesterday was a disaster.

Apple did screw things up. But your evidence that these screw ups are worse than previous screw ups is that your daughter is aware of them. And your daughter is aware of them because the press is reporting them. But the press isn't reporting them because the problems are big. They're reporting them because apple is big.

Your daughter is more aware of these screw ups because the iPhone is more poplar (more successful) than ever. Abc news etc, is quoting macrumors because of apples success, not these failures. Now, if people and companies are normally less mistake prone when more successful, then yes, not making fewer mistakes means something important. But I've not seen that to be the case.

Does not effect me or anyone that I know, pass (and can we stuff the -gate suffix for every tech issue that rolls along?)

Doesn't effect me or anyone I know, pass

Yep. Because the competitors' products stink. If MSFT ever gets its act together with more developers, I might consider them. The fragmented race to the bottom mess that is the Android ecosystem, not an option.

hey i'm a happy 6+ owner. I was just sayin :)

The only joke is the gullibility of people falling for the media's proclamation that this is a widespread problem.

This happens the first week or so of every iPhone release. With the 3G, AT&T activation servers went down for days. With the 3GS it was hairline cracks on the plastic. With 4, it was the antenna. Exploding batteries. Bending phones. Security issues.

Anything that sells millions and millions in a matter of days is going to get covered heavily by the media, whether it's accurate or not.

If it was a purple shirt that people stood in lines for weeks for, it'd be the same. IS THE PURPLE SHIRT FOR YOU? SIZING CONCERNS WITH PURPLE SHIRT. PURPLE SHIRT TEARS EASILY? PURPLE SHIRT NOT REALLY PURPLE, MORE LIKE VELVET

I Just Got The iPhone 6 Plus And I'm Already Thinking About Returning It

Another reviewer has second thoughts.

I quite liked the BI article. Used my girlfriend's 5S last night and liked how easy it was to get around it. IDK, I think even the 6 is too large. Apple needs to make a smaller phone with the same guts for a 6S. Have a 6S Mini, a 6S and a 6S Plus. Kinda wish I had just gotten a 5S. Think that's the best phone Apple has made in a while.

Eventually all this problems would be fixed. And iphone is still best phone by miles (maybe not 6+, but definitely 6 or 5s).

But you could clearly see and feel the declining trend (not in revenue but overall quality, customer support, etc, also "think different" mojo has been lost) - without a breakthrough in a couple of years apple would be just like american samsung, because competition are tight and brutal - anything innovative would leak and appear before apple could polish it to higher standards.

Lots of my fandroid friends make fun of me for always having an iPhone but I could care less. *I* love my iPhone. *I'm* the one who paid for it and *I'm* the one who uses it. Seriously couldn't care less what they say, and I mean that sincerely.

When the first iPhone keynote was over, people were laughing and mocking the device. Now every smart phone in the world has copied it since 2008.

Let them mock. Let them laugh. The iPhone isn't perfect but for me it's by FAR the best phone on the planet. :)
