Uhhhh…because what's hers is hers and what's mine is hers.

Seriously though, yeah, it's a married thing.

Usually a wife's thoughts and priorities about where income should be spent are very different from the husband's. Getting her approval or blessing means you're better off.

Resentment and anger kills relationships fast. ;)
You're out of your mind. Grow some balls. Kick her to the curb or skin her like a cat. Kidding! Not really thought...

LOL!

My wife is a Latina born in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles. Almost clawed a woman's eye out once with her bare hands before being separated.

That and I respect her too much to treat her like that. We work best together.

On topic…confession: I hate cases and screen protectors but I did a damn good job putting both on my wife's iPhone and iPad!

Not an iPhone user right now, so these confessions is to my other phones.

I watch alot porn on my phone. Okay, that isn't a confession but a generalization to what many men do on their phones or whenever they are online. Skip this. But download TubeMate if you enjoying watching porn at least twice a week or month like moi. The no file manager system sucks for iOS users.

Wallpapers, aye? I am also obsessed with the app icons showed on the homescreen and their positioning. A reason why I prefer Android. I can also hide ugly ones in a drawer. I also have icon swipe up shortcuts in case those apps are hidden inside the drawer. It is ironic that Apple promotes minimalism when Android has got them beat with custom launchers to clean up the homescreen.

I knew about torrent sites long before but didn't really start getting into it until 14 months ago. So yeah, ARRR! I illegally download my movies using Pirate Bay and YIFY sites. Just like I used to download my music with Napster back in 2000 or anything that followed it like Kazaa or Morpheus.

I get my e-books from bookzz.org and use Moon+ Reader Pro to open them and my magazine scans in PDF.

Another plus for Android is the ability to sideload your apps without jailbreak. I basically got Pokémon Go today from a site downloading its apk. Pirates!

I study my battery SOT like a hawk with or without the battery % being on. I like to crunch numbers being a stats guy including sports. It also helps me determine which apps are power and RAM efficient. Like I use MX Player but it eats up battery life like Chrome. My LG used to stutter with audio every 5 min except on MX (software encoded). Ever since I switched the runtime to ART, it might stutter every 40 minutes instead of 5 min, so I went back using the LG default video player. I get over 10-11 hrs of video playback with LG's video app than MX Player's 7-8 hrs since 4 hrs is a difference of at least two movies.

^ Many of those reasons is probably why I no longer get excited with iPhone releases. But being a self-confessed Fandroid (Lagdroid, whatever you call it), I still respect the all-around HARDWARE capabilities of iPhones. While I don't like iOS or Apple services, and their overrated ecosystem, Apple got the general hardware basics right with iPhones.

When I had iPhones, I really was quite obsessed with the title of the songs and if it needed an album cover or not. They also had to be 128 kbps (good) mp3 to save storage space. I would spend days on it to get it 100% perfect. Now without iTunes, I no longer stress about my music or what format or bit rate it is.aunchers.

Being frugal with purchases, apps, RAM usage, and battery life is why I will always prefer Android. Tightwad Paradise.

Confession: I don't get the fuss over iMessage. You're not the first person who I've heard say that it is the sole reason they stick with iOS. There are many free cross-platform messaging apps, like What's App or even Facebook Messenger.

I think the reason is because everyone who has an iPhone or even just 1 Apple product has iMessage available to them and isn't extra. 3rd party options require an extra app to be downloaded and installed. Not everyone has or uses those 3rd party apps or wants to install them.
[doublepost=1469087996][/doublepost]Confession: Definitely getting the iPhone 7+/Pro (whichever has the dual lens) because I like the direction of no headphone jack, removing the redundancy in favour of space for other things (like a second speaker and the rumoured bigger battery)

Plus to finally have 3D Touch available to me, amongst all the other improvements that have happened since the 6 in 2014.

Oh, I don't consider it deception either. She knows I'm working her. She shakes her fist at me enough as well as two middle fingers when I show her how much better tech will make things, but we get there.

I'm not saying either way is right or wrong, it's what works for you and me with our wives. :)
We may be married to the same woman.

Confession: I always have the newest iPhone available but admires people who are still hanging on to their older iPhones, especially the rare iPhone 3GS I see when commuting.

Confession: I especially liked the Slate Black iPhone 5 and kinda feel sad I let it go.

Confession: I always wanted a white iPhone since the introduction of the iPhone 4 (which got delayed super long) but ALWAYS end up with a black one of almost every iteration...

Don't judge me xD

This is the primary use of the iPhone isn't it? That and for reading on the toilet :D
lol. Reading on the toilet! Glad I'm not the only person in the world who does that! Sometimes the bathroom is the only place where you can get some peace nowadays, so don't worry, I'm willing to bet that more people do this than will openly admit to it!

the former is a personal choice the latter reeks of a subtle comment related to anti-semitism.

Think I have a few:

I swap between between my SE and 6Splus on gym days multiple times a day.

I have a bad habit of never selling my old phones. Where I'll occasionally throw in my SIM just to fire it up or update the software. Perfect example yesterday using my 5S for most of the day.

I more than likely will be getting the iPhone 7 even though I can't justify the purchase.

I hate removing the charger before it has fully charged my phone.

Confession: I have actually given some thought to owning an iPhone 4/4s as a media device (but NEVER as my primary phone).

God help me!
Don't. Stick to Android since they make better multimedia players than iPhones.

Videos / Movies -
QuickPic
MX Player (sometimes Mobo Player)
TubeMate
Flud or uTorrent

Photo Editor

Music -
Music Player by Bitsy

Moon+ Reader Pro

Emulators

File Manager -
ES File Explorer

^ You can make any of them into your default app the next time you open it.

One other confession is I'm really obsessed with my video collection. I used to be with my songs but now became more obsessed with my videos. Weird thing is I rarely watch them on my phone. I would literally add and delete videos almost everyday back in 2013. I have exactly 300 videos with 30 exact videos from 10 different folders on two of my Androids with the 64gb card.

Just yesterday, I decided to bring back six of my favorite movies and replace six others I didn't like as much. It is why I rank all the time to keep the very best on what I love most. Two of those films are in AVI. So iTunes can't read a format like that for it to be added. They can't read MKV either unless you get VLC Player or whatever. iOS is the king for limited video codec playback! MP4. Yippee!

So this is one of the big reasons why iPhones are INFERIOR multimedia players than Androids to me. Just buy a cheap Moto E2 4G at Best Buy or a $40 water-resistant Kyocera Hydro Air at Walmart. Forget an iPhone 4 or 4s with inferior specs. Saves you the trouble having to pay for every damn media file and have it handled by stinkin' iTunes and video conversion programs.

ES File Explorer handles alot of transferring and moving files for me. It also can download media files unlike the Safari browser. MX Player handles most of the video formats. QuickPic handles my photos and videos. I have a local phone with DTV. Some have FM radio which defeats TuneInRadio or all the other online radio apps since it doesn't need data or kills battery as fast. Then we have an sd-slot to handle the media.

iPhones make OVERRATED multimedia players. Androids are also superior to handling media than WP. Think again if you want to make iPhone 4 or 4s as your portable media player. A $30 ZTE Maven would make a better media player than iPhone 4s since it isn't chained to iTunes, has sd slot, and can run all those useful Androids apps I mentioned. Easier to organize and free too if you want those media files. Hate iTunes. Love a file manager system.

Confession: I still have the following iPhones:
iPhone 16GB (iOS 2 or 3?)
iPhone 4 32GB (iOS 5)
iPhone 4S 32GB (iOS 6)
iPhone 5s 64GB (iOS 9)

My dad has my old Slate Black iPhone 5 32GB (iOS 6) and I'm looking forward to getting it back to add to my collection when I upgrade him to the iPhone SE. :p

I beg to differ really.

Confession:
For some reason I keep buying lightning usb wires when I see good sales on them.
I must have over a dozen extras in a draw that I haven't even opened up yet:)
You know Apple will exchange your lightning cables as long as the device it was purchased with is less than a year old...

But there's no way of really checking so if the cable from your iPhone 5 stops working, you could tell them it was the cable to your new iPad pro and BAM, free cable replacement

Doesn't really matter to me in any case.

I have an iPhone 5 as my media device already and there is a system I already have in place for everything I do media wise.

My initial confession about the iPhone 4/4s is significant to me (why I posted it) because if you spend any time around here you'll eventually hear me saying how much I hate that model. :)

^ Right now, I am downloading that film using my Flud app and will watch it tomorrow. Story about an android too. ;-)

If you go on the Play Store, uTorrent has been downloaded over 50M times. So we have a bunch of online pirates and I am hardly the only one guilty here.

On any iOS device, you can't even delete photos in an album. You can only delete photos in your camera roll. You can't mass select all the videos and delete them. Has to be one at a time. This is why a file manager is so important to me. Select all. Delete, copy, share, or move.

Sometimes I do ask myself what the hell do I need a $650 iPhone 7 when an Android at 1/20th of that price can do more for me when handling my media content? I also used to be honorable and pay for my content from iTunes. I bought a few movies and episodes of LOST. At only 720p, the file size were huge!

Saving space is another reason why I do torrents since I am not too picky with video quality but I am picky with file size since I try to be efficient with money, RAM, apps, battery life, and storage.

Had History Of The World Part I (1981) from YIFY at 1.12gb. Went back to Pirate Bay to get the AVI one for 588mb. I don't like adding 720p movies at over 1.5gb unless it is 3+ hrs long like TLotR or The Godfather films. I prefer my HD movies under 1gb.

Even if I wasn't a "thief" like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg were and found ways to make iPhone act like Android, there is always another obstacle to deal with. Another loop to jump through. Always under the mercy of Apple and hoping they listen to our feature requests that Android users have enjoyed for years.

Reasons to get iPhone 7?

Water-resistant
Camera
Excellent battery life
External speaker
Fantastic internal audio quality
Longer software support
iOS10's raise to wake
Capacitive home button
FaceTime although I'm not into video calls
32gb option likely handles all my Back To The Future (3), Indiana Jones (4), Star Wars (7), and any future entries. Reason why I settle for 32gb and not 128 is because of the limited video codec support.

Reasons not to get iPhone 7?

Don't mind paying for my media content but the multimedia management sucks without a file manager, limited video codec support, and dependency with iTunes to add or delete anything.

No expandable storage when 128gb cards can go for under $50. Can't choose the camera MP settings to make the photo files smaller. Paid iTunes media files are huge and I want to save space since it lacks expandable storage. Proprietary which doesn't play well with others.

If I wanted to be honorable and pay for all my media content again and act more boy scout than pirate, I still have to take many more extra steps with an iPhone to handle all my multimedia.

I won't argue that Android and the Play Store are far more "open" (have a Moto G 3rd gen for portable media playback) but I do believe links to pirated material and discussions on how-to (pirate) are against MR forum rules.

Confession: I am still using the original lightning cable and earphones that came with the iPhone 5. All the included accessories from the 5S and beyond have stayed in the box!

Same here. I think I still use wires and headphones from my iPhone 5 days.
Or I buy some wires on eBay.
For my last 2 iPhone and iPad purchases I always leave the original accessories untouched inside the original box for resale later.

True.
I just like to have a bunch of them to be able to plug in many places without keep moving the same cord or plug.
I got one at work, in my bedroom, kitchen counter, my office desk in the basement, one in my car and one in my wife's car:)

Oh, there's a cashier. The cash drawers are hidden underneath the tables. Any genuius can check you out - even if it was not the genius dealing with you.

That aside, my wife has no love for tech. She can appreciate what it allows her to do or accomplish but it's not even a tool for her. It's a means to an end. She once thought computers were a fad and that the craze would be over in a year.

I've had to drag her kicking and screaming every step of the way into the 20th AND 21st centuries. On the other hand, once she can determine that something has made her life just so much easier compared to the old way she clung to she does change.

But the excitement and energy around a tech product release or experience - the kind of thing that binds a lot of us together around here. No, not her. :D
Cashier not as in the drawer, but there is no dedicated employee to check people out and for some reason that bothered her.

Every Apple employee is a cashier.

I was just mentioning that the drawers for cash transactions are hidden.

But ask any Apple employee and they can handle that. There is no one designated cashier.

I know that. My girlfriend doesn't get it is all, and I love it like that. I love how Nordstrom's Rack started doing that too, we usually walk up to the cleaning crew to check out because they usually are the least busy there :p. They use the older iPods compared to Apple's iPhone 5S with Verifone sleeves.

My confession: I have to download every public beta of every OS (phone, Mac and watch), even though I know I'll be frustrated and run into issues. I can't control myself. What I find very frustrating though is that no one in my family shares my enthusiasm for downloading the latest software so I can't play with all the new messaging toys!
