Look. It’s still not for me. I’ll be ordering a 18PM. But I have to admit I’m impressed. They took the folding form factor and worked a lot of software innovation into it. The camera demonstration was impressive. As was the FaceTime demo. The engineering that went into the inside screen and how it integrates with the outside screen. Again, impressive.

I originally said I didn’t think they would sell a lot of these. I take that back. Apple is gonna sell a ton of ‘em

Prices on all existing (old) iPhone models also silently increased by $100 during the announcement.

$1099 for Air, $899 (with carrier activation) for iPhone 17, $699 for iPhone 17e.

That was expected but makes those phones a terrible deal now that they are already a year old.

If it delivers what was displayed, this is a phenomenal device and I will be buying one. I am getting tired of carrying an iPhone, an iPad Pro, and a MacBook every where I go. Each device gives me something flexible and fantastic, but this just may enable me to remove my iPad Pro altogether. I've anyways been using it less and less (namely due to the damn weight of the magic keyboard) so with a little compromise, this may be a better fit for my overall needs.
