3g bars, 2 right now, but will get the real test tomrrow once at work!

My iPhone is still lacking the ability to scan for life-signs and dilithium. Is anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. However, I am able to induce different phases of matter with it...

Anyone?? I use the "horn" sound for when I get a text message and now its not working.:confused: But when I switch to any of the other sounds for incoming texts they all work just not the "horn" sound. Anyone want to try there's?

update: Hard reset fixed

Mine doesn't do that. Is that an Apple BT headset feature?

yea, "Shows battery level for the iPhone Bluetooth Headset"

Four of my close friends have a 3G, and not one of us has had any issues with 3G. I have yet to hear of someone in Canada, in a city centre, having issues with their connection. I consistently have 5 bars... in Toronto. I know it may be software on the phone side, but AT&T may have a large part in these issues too.

Yes, it is ATT. I live in OKC and we have had 3G for about 1 and a half or 2 years now and the 3G coverage is still splotchy at best. We have minimal terrain to get in the way here, and yet while driving on a straight road with clear line of sight to 3 different cell towers (one of which has to be 3G), it will drop a call. This is not limited to the iPhone, I have friends with other 3G devices on ATT that have exactly the same issue. It is coverage, not hardware. Firmware updates may help, but they will not fix everything; ATT has to do some work to get it up to par. Things will hopefully get better with ATT making a killing on all of the revenue from 3G iPhone purchases, but we will see in about a year (ambitious estimate).

Look at all my bars!! It had to have been the update..

After updating to 2.0.2 I don't see 'Databases'

It has been there since 2.0

It appears when you visit a site that keeps a persistent database to improve performance or allow work offline.

It's also on desktop versions of Safari 3 under Security --> Show Databases

I quickly scanned all the posts and didn't see any reference to this...

The "Update All" option for updates in the app store seems to be...GONE!

Looks like the only option is one at a time. No big deal yet I guess but it appears to have changed with this update.

i used to get two bars of 3G service sitting her on my computer and now I get no service.

The cube photo transition is still laggy as everything.

contact list seems to be smoother.

I'm going with the theory that the update was not released to even fix reception problems but was indeed software bug fixes. The reception update is coming at a later time.

I think 2.0.2 is primarily to add the settings for the 25-30 additional carriers carrying the phone from Friday.

I would imagine Friday's phones will have 2.0.2 preinstalled.

thank god i dont have an iphone 3G. ... (other than gps which i dont really need). even with gps missing i think the iphone 2G is way better.

The 2G phone is Not "way better" than the 3G phone. A 3G phone manually set to "3G OFF" and location services "OFF" in effect is a 2G iPhone. I own a 3G phone, but several of my friends have 2G phones. I've played around with their phones and they have played around with my phone. With 3G and GPS turned to OFF, the phones are the SAME thing. ;)
(and btw, I use GPS a lot more than I thought I would use it. Sure, I don't need it to get to work or to get home, but I often find myself in other cities saying "gee, I wonder if there is a (insert restaurant or business name here) around here?" and in a matter of seconds, I have a map of all the locations. Sometimes, I just need a phone number of a nearby business, and I'll punch it into the GPS, tap on the phone number and it calls. It's actually really useful, even in my own county. In the city that I work in, I have 5 bars of 3G all across most of the city. Web pages and other functions load just as fast as my desktop PC)

got the same thing...

what does this mean

So I've tried restoring, updating, restarting both my phone and my mac... still nothing. I keep getting this error. I'm getting down right irritated. Between this, the mobile me fiasco, and the variety of bugs I've gotten since updating my original iphone, I'm truly discouraged.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I was referring to Error -19 that some of the other people had gotten.

Now I get zero bars of 3G in my area ... oh wait ... I have NEVER gotten 3G. It isn't available in my part of Canada. Lucky me!! No dropped calls at least .. lol
