Has anyone been able to get their iphone to go to favorites instead of showing ipod controls? No matter what I check off on general preferences all I can get is the ipod controls when double tapping.

I have ....... but itll go to the ipod even if it has been paused. Force quit it, then try.

All these new developments makes me wonder, how they are going to sell them more this xmas.

I hear VZW laughing all the way to the bank!!

I took my phone to an AT&T Store and got a replacement SIM card. iTunes will not reactivate the phone with the original SIM or a replacement SIM.

I'm at an Apple Store now and pretended that an error happened during my update. The apple tech said it must have corrupted the phone during the update. She told me I'm the first person to come into the store with this problem. She gave me a brand new replacement phone. :D

Now she is on the phone with AT&T to match the serial number of the replacement phone on my account.

Good for you. I'm glad you got a new one.

If I pause the iPod from within the iPod app, and use 2tap it goes to my favorites as I expect. At least that is my experience so far as I was testing it to see if I should turn off that go to iPod control if iPod is on setting.

The Push Email that was annouced is Yahoo Push Email. However, it is not that reliable.

However, not sure I agree that IMAP is trash. It is a good solution for some.

Maybe trash was too strong. Unreliable fits.

International Keyboards

I don't understand why Apple dropped international keyboard support :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

There're Japanese living in the US :(:(:(:(
(and Spanish/French/German etc ...)
Why do I need to buy iPod touch ????

Wow. That's a biggie. Maybe they don't want people outside US to use it?

I have the old firmware (from the link to Apple's site that modmyiphone.com had), but what do I click next? This was on a locked iPhone, so I simply want to go back and try jailbreak with my old SIM. I just got my iPhone yesterday.

NM: You have to pick the zip file itself - but I had no luck, got an error (1) message.

Curious which file did you select?

Sorry for my overuse of  ;)

That may be the reason ...
But there're many non-English speakers in the US, right ?
For us it's vital to be able to reply and/or use Safari in our native language ...
at least my girlfriend hates me when I reply to her in English from my iPhone :(

I hate iPhone updates. Just like with 1.0.2 it fudged my iPhone and I have to do a complete restore. I could see this maybe if I had any third party apps or an unlocked phone, but no sir, never had time in install any third party apps.

I had a bunch of photos, calendar events, and new contacts not saved to the computer yet.

screw Apple.

STILL no gawd darn Exchange Direct Push and still not open to business customers...

EHHHHH

Exchange does not a business customer make... I'm a business customer and I don't need it.

If exchange is needed, then install the IMAP extensions on the exchange server. IMAP is a widely used standard with tons of compatible clients of which the iPhone is one... Exchange is proprietary...so if you want your Exchange, fix your Exchange server to be compatible with the rest of the world. The iPhone is fine.

I just bought the one ringtone I've used since the first iTunes hack became available. Was worth it in my opinion, and Apple's ringtone system is really slick. It's still cheaper than any other ringtone service, and I already had the song. Not having to worry about updating iTunes is a good feeling.

Edit: @bobvnc I hadn't updated, but I really love the ringtone I made from the riff at the end of Heaven Forbid (The Fray), I've been using it for months since the first way to get ringtones on the iPhone surfaced. I love The Fray and Apple did a really good job in my opinion with their ringtone service. Not having to buy the song too would be a nice option, but I already owned it. I don't have to worry about iTunes updates now.

I'm going to miss my Stephen Colbert ringtone, though. haha.

I'm wondering if you guys went to apple store to mac genius and try to get the iphone repair for "incorrect sim"? I'm planning to go there tomorrow and try to get my iPhone fixed because I updated my iPhone with my current AT&T card and got the "incorrect sim" message. I just got the iPhone 2 weeks ago. Will they replace my phone since I'm under 1 year warranty? Thanks

I recommend putting the iphone in airplane mode before updating....
to avoid ANY problems...

its been fun apollo im...

the devils advocate here...

question: are we all so totally braindead that we need to buy music from our cell phone? i mean besides the media we put on at home we are bombarded everywhere with tv's and/or muzak. so, dear apple, using that shiny new wifi itunes button would probably be the very last thing i would do on this planet.

PS you can stick that iphone update you know where... app.tap is worth alot more than 1.1.1

another fix i may have found...

not sure if this has been posted yet or if its really a fix.

i'm pretty sure it used to be that the unlock screen was really bright. brighter than the homescreen was if you had your brightness down lower. then you slide and it gets dimmer.

now it seems that the unlock screen is the same brightness as your brightness setting. i like it.

Found a BUG using the iPhone Itunes Store

After searching for a couple of songs to buy, I clicked on the green buy button, entered my password for the iTunes store and saw the animated "1" go to the download bin. I clicked on another song and again saw the animated "1" go to the download bin. The download number incremented by 1. I clicked on the the download button and saw 2 songs, one of which I did not select. The one I did not select was downloading and the other one was set to pause (I guess you can only download one at a time.) After the first song finished downloading, I saw a Purchased button on the top of the screen. After clicking the the Purchased button, I was taken to the iPod screen and shown was a list of my playlists. I did not see the song. I then searched for the song by name. Didn't see it either. I then searched for it by Artist. Didn't see it there either. So I went back to the iTunes store on my iPhone, clicked on the download button and saw that the second song was finishing up. After it finished, I clicked on that Purchase button and it took me to the iPod screen. The screen now displayed a Iphone Purchased playlist. I clicked on the iPhone Purchased Playlist and saw only the second song listed.

It seems I have two issues: 1) I selected a song and got a different one to download, and 2)It seems to have trouble writing or creating a iPhone Purchased playlist if the playlist doesn't exist.

I decided to purchase an entire albumn now. I clicked on the Depeche Mode violator albumn. All of the songs went to the download bin. After the first song finished downloaded, I found it in the iPhone Purchased playlist and listened to it. While listening to it, I went into my bedroom where my wi-fi signal isn't so strong and noticed that the iPhone iTunes store download button didn't indicate any songs being downloaded. I clicked on the download button and it was completed empty. I then went to the iPhone Purchased songs playlist and none of the songs from the albumn where there except for the first Depeche Mode song that downloaded.

I decided to go to my computer and check my purchase history in iTunes and it showed I had 7 pending downloads. I tried to check for purchases but it would not let me download them. I tried purchasing them again on my iPhone and I got a message stating that I already purchased them, are you sure you want to do this again?

Has anybody else encountered this problem with purchasing music from the iPhone Itunes music store?

I guess I need to call tech support. Seems like a bug to me.
