iPhone firmware update 1.1.1 released!

Agreed. Providing an easier way to give Apple money is not worth losing the ability to use all those third party applications.

Can somebody tell me if there are international keyboards/spell correction now?

Looking forward to some news regarding unlock as mine should be arriving tomorrow :D I won't be updating that's for sure!
 
Interesting...the song "Joya" by Funky C is free on iTunes right now, but on the WiFi store, it's 99 cents.

Thnks for th info. General. I wish itunes had more songs available as ringtones then I would update in a heartbeat. I just want one song but they don't have it avail. as ringtone. Guess all I can do is wait to update and bombard apple with requests to make that song a ringtone. :(
 
Increased ringer/speaker volume?? Screw your fancy unlockery and app tap shenangians, this is all I ever wanted out of my iPhone :)

The double-space period thing is VERY WELCOME too :D

It is absolutely ridiculous that we still don't have MMS on this phone. It's my number one complaint. I'm so tired of seeing that stupid "viewmymessage" text come up.

MMS should have been on this phone when it was released! What the hell Apple?????????

i have very good news


i unlocked my iPhone using This

and it runs on rogers


and i applied the update and

my iPhone still works on Rogers perfect and i have the iTunes store

so it works..and doesnt brick ur iPhone

iTunes tells you there's an update but it appears after that point there's no going back to restore to 1.0.2...you only choice for a "restore" is to "restore and install" the 1.1.1 update. I've now successfully done so, having had a phoneful of Installer.apps on mine. So long old friends...:(

Wow...been using Summerboard themes and having extra icons and flashy dock for so long I almost forgot what the default iPhone looked like...

I'm still downloading the update so I can't verify myself but I read on another board that you could re-install Installer.app and it works on 1.1.1.
 
Louder speaker and TV out? Those are two features I was waiting for a HARDWARE revision for :)

If this update enlarges the headphone hole I will be truly impressed :)

(But let's please hide the iTunes Store inside the iPod app where it belongs. Still easy to reach, but not in your face.)

P.S. I think EVERY software patch deserves a little promotional video - let's hope this trend continues :) Even for stuff like new ATI drivers.

Great news indeed. I'm going to wait a little bit though - perhaps when 100 people have reported no problems....
 
Same here, how hard would it be to enable mms?
My old $50 cell phone can do it....

Has anyone who has used ifuntastic to jailbreak their iphone installed 1.1.1 yet? If so, how did the update work? Did your phone need to be restored? Lose all your stuff?

My iphone had to be restored with the last Apple update, but jailbreak worked afterwards, and I could put ringtones and carrier logos back on it...

Why is that iTunes store icon on the left instead of the right? I guess so the arrow "points" to the iPod, but they could have made a different icon, no?

I miss NES :(
 
Dare I say...Safari feels snappier! :p

Its a nice update, especially with greater volume. It is one of the main things that bothered me about the hardware.

I also have to say, I wonder if we will ever see MMS. I bet Apples reasoning is: they could upload to .mac to share, or just email. In reality though, I much rather MMS a pic to someone. :(
 
There is also iTunes 7.4.3 out now too. This new or did I just miss an iTunes update in the past?
