Phone seems to react faster to everything now.
Volume did increase and I LOVE it.
The space bar double click is awesome and since I am leaving to Europe in 4 hours the EDGE roaming off function simply made my day.

From further investigating, it appears if you have your phone modded with apps, ringtones, etc..
If you run the update, your phone will still works and functions after the update, but all the modding and apps that you installed prior is gone, gone, goodbye..

Yes, I did the same thing. I had AppTapp installer and a few apps on the iPhone, the update wiped all that but the update applied OK. My iPhone had to "reactivate" when it came back on, but it did it automatically and I didn't lose any of my email/songs/addressbook etc.
Thing I like: You can now choose between a few different sounds for when you get a text message, sadly none of them are loud enough or long enough, but they're an improvement on the "I just finished burning a CD" noise.
I'm going to Italy tomorrow so I'm glad they included the ability to turn off EDGE roaming!
When you touch the home button to wake the phone and now double click it the iPod function comes up and goes in shuffle. That's new right?

I am surprised that there are so few people complaining about this. Isn't anyone else annoyed that you can't get a picture sent from a friend anymore without going to a website?

I have an unmodded iPhone and I keep getting a pop-up saying "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1603)." Prior to this, I had to restore it because it said my iPhone was in recovery mode and had to be restored to its original settings in order for the update to take place. Anyone else have this crap?!

No International Keyboard !!!
So the update did not include the international keyboard that is available on the touch - why not - does Apple not think of us who might SMS in other languages other than English this is so frustrating - and still no option of sending and SMS to multiple people - have we not been complaining about this since day 1.

I hope that you are right, but it is possible for Apple to completely lock out iToner.
Video out is great, but does it have to come out of the dock connector? Can you use a normal Apple iPod AV cable? (I realize this doesn't fit in the jack without modification...)
Also, the iPhone dock has a 1/8" output on it, but does that support video out using an iPod AV cable?
