The crease be damned. I think price will be the decider: for the 2500 dollar (expected price) you can buy an iPhone 17, MB Neo (or iPad Air) and have ~900 dollar to spare to buy a PS5+ a slurry of games or go on a a nice little trip. What is the expected benefit of the foldable in a practicable sense?

It's inevitable.

From photos I've seen, the pixels also tend to fail in the crease area.

Also delamination.

It's just a silly idea IMO.

iPhone fold gonna have the shortest usable lifespan of all iPhones to date.

It would be wise to purchase Applecare for this phone.
If they are like samsung, you won't be able to purchase the protection on it. They know the screens are extremely fragile. I have seen so many folding phones come back to the store with the inner screen damaged.
