Has anyone been able to get in touch with apple? My phone had a Delivery date for today Dec 1st and it was stuck in china for a little bit over a week. On the 28th UPS finally updated and it said it arrived at Anchorage the 29th and departed anchorage that same day with no destination but it says in transit with a delivery date for today. :(

Why don't you order it from your local apple store? The nearest ones to me don't have it in stock (12 pro max), they did over the weekend. If my local store had it, I would go get it, and whenever the one from China comes I would just return it. So disappointed in Apple.
I considered it but honestly at this point it would be more of a pain than just waiting it out. If I had known this would happen I would have just waited and placed my order later vs doing it earlier in Nov.

I talked to them yesterday and they were completely useless. I spoke with UPS as well and after being transferred to their international line, they said it was showing up as still clearing through customs in China in their internal system. They said they were not having any problems show up like missing paperwork, just taking longer than expected to clear through customs. They said if there is no update (other than the last one I see of 11/23 clearance in progress) by Thursday, I should call back and call Apple. What the actual stuck 🤦🏼‍♀️

From what apple told me that I should not call UPS ( why?), my original date was 11/30 so if I do not get the phone by 12/4 then they can refund or send a replacement. Again replacement would be 4 weeks wait. Better to get a refund and then look at local store inventory every day and pick up when it's available. This should be a quicker option.

I don't know if this will do anything but I paid UPS $9.99 to change my delivery date to tomorrow. It updated the method of shipping to Next Day Air. If they can't deliver it tomorrow I will get my $9.99 back.

Hi can someone explain what this means? The status is marked exception. Will I get my phone?

Thsnks
Soooo..... I ordered for day one delivery, 11.13. I finally got my phone after a full shipping investigation and a replacement order from Apple on 11/26. When was it due to be delivered? The story of the BS I went thru because someone stole it or it got lost is insane... so TL;DR-- how over due is your phone?

I believe there is a batch of phones ordered 11/19 or so that shipped out on 11/21 and have been in customs since. Our initial shipment notifications said 11/25 from UPS and 11/30 from Apple. They are still in the status “Clearance in progress”

There have been covid-related delays in customs in the past week at Shanghai: https://theloadstar.com/covid-cluster-delays-air-cargo-at-shanghai-and-prompts-inspections-at-ports/
I saw a mention yesterday that customs was closed but I don't have a real reliable source for that comment.
Thanks for the information. I've gone ahead and just ordered it at the store and am picking it up on Friday (guaranteed). Unfortunately I can't cancel the other one as it's shipped and stuck in customs for too long. Will just have to return it.

I got 8 phone calls from different numbers today from 844 and 215 area codes within 4 hours with computer voices saying they were Apple Support and my account has been compromised and to press 1 to talk to an Apple support advisor or call 315-232-82**. Anyone else received these calls? I have never received these calls before.

I've already received my case and charger and those shipments had my phone number on the package. I'm wondering if someone is going through the shipments sitting in China and taking numbers off them for more targeted scams of Apple product users.

That is interesting. I have gotten a couple of text messages from random numbers saying it is about my UPS package and then it is a bogus link and tracking number.

mines coming tommorw morning

Fed Express was backed up I know recently in China. I had a package leaving Guangzhou and package was there for like 4-5 days before it left China because they said they were overbooked with merchandise to ship and did not have enough flights/planes to move what they needed to move. Shipping is backed up recently from what I know for stuff leaving China. Shipping prices now are also between 2-3 times now as to what they normally would be at. Shipping companies gouging customers now

These are scam calls. Ignore them.

Just got a notice that my MagSafe charger which was shipped on 11/26 from Kunshan, China is now in Anchorage, AK. Meanwhile my iPhone which was shipped on 11/21 from ZhengZhou, China is still stuck with no updates since 11/23.

I believe this one the most because I ordered mine on Nov 15 and I got the case on Nov 17. Phone shipped around 18-19 and that same day I got an email saying that my delivery may be later than the date stated in the confirmation email. My phone was due on December 1st and on Nov 28 it was still stuck in China. After I called Apple twice, the first representative I talked to said “oh that means your package is lost in transit” and I was completely disappointed. She offered a refund or a replacement in a very displeased tone like she was just having a bad day and I was like “you mean you Apple wants to send a replacement through the same delivery method that lost the first one??” And she hung up on me. The next morning I talked to another representative to talk about the previous one and my order and this lady was much nicer and helpful.
She said there were some issues between UPS, Apple and customs due to covid and shipping from some ports and there were thousands of items on hold. She said that if by today the UPS app didn’t update at all with any information that I should call back to start an investigation. And this morning when I opened the app hoping for some good news, customs had cleared the package.

Guess it’s just another few days of waiting?

Still zero movement on my tracking. My first installment payment is already due. Literally paying for a phone I do not have. I am so unimpressed with apple on this. I should have just ordered from my cell provider instead.

Edit to add:
Chatted with apple which took way longer than it should have.
They are literally zero help. They keep moving the goalposts for delivery. First the 30th and now they are telling me it's showing a "committed delivery date between December 3rd-10th". (Even mentioned it may come TODAY! Doubtful when it's sitting in China. lol) That is a huge span of time.
Initially they told me to contact them later to open an investigation which I thought they had already opened days ago. Then they backtracked and said they meant contact them after the 10th and we will "figure this out together."
Zero resolution on being charged an installment fee before getting the order. Told me to contact Goldman Sachs cause that makes sense.
I am really happy I didn't do a trade in because this is a mess. It isn't apple's fault that there are issues with shipping but they are handling it poorly in my opinion. Although I am not entirely certain what they could even do at this point.
I am just irritated.

Thank you for taking the time to post all this detail. I’m sorry that customer service lady was so rude to you! I used to work in customer service for financial services and fortunately I had the right temperament for it but I saw that some people really should not be in that line of work. That being said, I hope she’s not going through something horrible in her personal life. We are in such awful times.

Anyway, I had a silver 256 12 Pro Max order placed on November 14 and it never progressed to shipping in 10 days, so I canceled and changed colors and storage on the 24th, ordering the gold 512 GB gold Max. I finally got notice last night that it was shipping out! Lol, I wonder if it built with the parts Apple reportedly had to scrounge from iPad stockpiles

My Gold 512 12 Pro Max has been sitting in ZhenZhou since last night. It will be interesting to compare its progress to yours.

Meanwhile, I wish your phone a bon voyage and hope it arrives to you very soon in excellent shape!

I have to wonder if all these iPhones that have been sitting around for 2 weeks without progress were destined for Apple and their B&M stores if they would be contacting someone in Chinese customs to see what the issue is and how to fix it because that would be lost potential sales in their stores. But because they are going to people who have already bought and paid for the phones, they are not as motivated to resolve whatever the issue is.

Very true, all the phones shipped are paid for either in full or under installment plan. I called apple and they opened an investigation to see what the issue is with my order. They said it will take 3 days. And if they can not deliver the phone I asked for refund. I will not wait for replacement as it will take another month. I see phones are there at my local apple stores now so will buy it from the store after I hear back from the investigation

My status is still frozen at ZhenZhou. Under normal conditions it would show incremental movement by now. They’re saying they can’t determine a delivery date at the present time but are working on doing that. Apple’s email said December 10th. But that clearly means nothing concrete.

I know some people use Flight Aware to watch their phones fly around the world. How does that work, exactly? What origin and destination city do I use to figure out which plane it is on? Of course, obviously it’s not on any plane at the moment.

I am not trying to track it that way, exactly. I just thought I would get in on the fun since I’ve never done that before.

that is literally the exact same tracking as mine, same arrival and departure from AK.
I called UPS yesterday and they were locating. Today my tracking shows import scan/Departure Louisville and delivery for tomorrow in my city (Seattle). So yours has to be in Louisville. Probably already had the customs done and on its way to your city they just haven't updated. In can be "in transit" till it appears on your door.

What happened after clearance completed? That’s all I’ve been seeing since this morning when it updated and nothing else. I’m just anxious about the phone lol
