Having someone that can confirm or deny a viral rumor is handy for a firm like Apple that relies on word of mouth more than advertising and promotion. It greatly concentrates the buzz on practical and possible things in an environment of near zero credible information.
Its kinda funny how we read the rumors , hate ourselves , read more rumors , get disappointed , rumors ?? I'm in !! Come apple event ...YAAAAY ...

Inject iPhone 5C (if real) after 5S. It will replace the 4S as the free with contract. That way, all lightening, all 4 inch display phones.
Based on last year it was released 7 days after GM witch was a Public Release so it'll be released on Sept 10

I doubt that. It's more likely they planned this date some time ago. Apple doesn't respond to rumours, let alone create media events to react to them.
It's still less than a year since the iPhone 5 launch.

It's probably confusing simply because you imagined it that way.
Not interested in the new iPhone, but very much ready for the public release of iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks.
