Nope, the A9 was 70% faster than the A8 and the A10 was 40% faster than the A9. The A9 was a beast at the time.
In absolute terms that makes the jump from A9 to A10 about the same as A8 to A9, so I’d say that’s still significant even if baymowe was wrong in his initial assertion. Certainly not like the tiny hop between the A7 and A8.

I’d expect it to have 3D Touch as well. At this point it’s the only iPhone without it.
Yeah, the mechanical interface does not do fingerprint recognition as well as new home button models.

Face ID on SE would be a must have-buy for me! I be waiting in line at Apple store at the release date if that happens!

but the question is? do you still like the iMac design? because, like with the phones and any gadgets, you are impressed with the design, you like it, but in 3 months time you get so accustomed with it that you forget about it (if you protect it with a case - which is the case, design is over)... when you watch your screen, you don't look at the design of the hardware... software. like cars. people buy cars because of how they look outside. but you sit and drive inside ;-)

That’s an oversimplification. For one, consumers don’t invest in cars with the same cadence as a phone or computer, nor is automobile obsolescence so rapid. And even car designs evolve over time whereas the current iMac design has not. I don’t dislike it but it doesn’t exactly turn any heads the way it did 5 years ago.

As for the inside, I would like to see Apple return to modular hardware or at least give their computers a decent heatsink that will not destroy the chipsets in a couple years’ time, instead of pulling impossible stunts like the iMac Pro. And overhaul the MacOS in more meaningful ways than shoehorning Siri.

Let’s face it, since Jobs’ passing its been a disaster for the Mac and maintaining (re)design cycles.

He gave his opinion. No need to be snarky about it. If you dont like the design, dont buy the phone. I agree with him that this is one of the best designs for the iPhone ever. And I also think it is a timeless design.

Lol. Bother to explain why that is? Why is the iPhone going to be different than the one manufactured anywhere else if the same quality standards are being adhered to? Or do you just dislike India for your personal reasons?
Lol? Care to explain what you found funny?
you said it yourself..IF and that’s an unlikely IF.
China has a ling history in electronics manufacturing and assembly.they can do it right if they follow standard.
India on the other hand..
Nothing against India as a country.it’s just that India has the cheapest labour in the wirld and I don’t see why Apple might want to save more money by transferring their plants there other than PURE greed.

The why would be because the Indian government gives foreign companies a very hard time in selling their products in India unless there’s something ‘in it’ like local manufacturing for them. Not making a judgement on whether that’s good or bad, but it’s the most likely reason.

This is totally my jam. I couldn’t care less about FaceID (yet), 3D Touch, or bezelphobia. Give me the A10 processor, maybe an updated camera (OIS would be a bonus). 256 gig would be great but I’ll settle for 128. I will even be happy to keep my lightning to 3.5mm adapter if killing the headphone port leaves room for those goodies. I’ll eBay my new 8 (with AppleCare) for almost what I paid for it and walk away with ~$400 cash in my pocket and an iPhone I can actually hold in one hand while using it.

Hell Ya. APPLE SHOULD CHECK THIS!! Bigger battery, better cameras and 256Gb. 640,-

Let me repost this here -

^ Look at the top of the 8 and X. Reaching for Control Center on the X is like reaching for the top on the Plus model if you hold them all the same way with one hand.

It's already difficult enough for me to reach all four corners of my thumb with the 4.7" iPhones. I know because my HTC One M7 is nearly the same dimensions in height and width. Now imagine an even taller display. I'm typing from an LG V20 right now and the only reason why it is easy to reach for the toggles is because I linked swipe down anywhere on home screen using Nova Prime to bring down the notification shade.

If I was forced to use my right thumb, I would need to do some hand gymnastics like Dhalsim from Street Fighter II needing my body parts to expand. He probably excels in kama sutra. :p Yoga fire, yoga flame! I'm tired of these surfboard phones and users will grow tired of these surfboard displays with weird aspect ratios.

This is why the most convenient dimensions for an iPhone based on the X display should be no taller than 130 mm in height. That's why the Xperia XZ1 Compact appeals to me right now. Very easy to reach all four corners of the display and reach every toggle. I guess my next iPhone purchase won't happen until the next decade. The SE2 is just trying to pay homage to the iPhone 6 through 8 design.

2018 - Get Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact for $400 or less

2020 - Get the Apple iPhone SE3/X SE

My hand and wallet will feel much better. ;)

The issue right now is that the market for SE is broken up to 2 - those on a budget and those who like small. Right now, the budget is winning over..(ie Apple is maketing SE for budget, not for small-lovers...Once they realize small-lovers will pay premium price for small (they dont care baout budget), thats when we will see iPhone X-SE

I was seriously considering the SE when it was first released, as I really liked my 5S. However, after using TouchID on the 6S, the idea of going back to the slower original was painful. I can't imagine a new SE won't be using the faster TouchID hardware, and if so... this is likely to be my next phone.

The mockups of an SE and X merged are pretty darn cool. That'd be the phone for me!

I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Although at this point I feel that the 5S design is kind of dated. If Apple used the iPhone 8/X design but in a 4" form, that's be awesome.

After having owned a 7 Plus for a year now, I'm not liking the enormous size. Tough to one-hand. Before my 7 Plus, I had a 5S for three years and I'll seriously consider going to an SE 2.

For me this phone is a fail. I keep saying it, Apple needs to come out with a phone that has the same screen size as the 6/7/8 but without the bezels. That would give you a SE form factor with a much larger screen. Yes, it would be more expensive than this phone but I bet there would be a huge market for it.

The people who are mocking the SE to look like the X are stupid. The back would be entirely glass like the old 4. Why would Apple make the new SE have an aluminum back when their new design signature is to have a glass back with wireless charging? Duh?!

Just got the iPhone SE ( my first iPhone/cell).

Nothing here inspires buyer's remorse.

I'd love to see 3d touch plus a camera and processor spec bump-- then remorse would kick in!

I'm good with the appearance/form factor because no matter what I buy i'll never look cool!

Apple doesn't sell on specs, particularly to SE customers.

A10 is MORE than adequate and still has amazing specs compared to any processor besides other Apple processors (A10X and A11).

While I agree with your point regarding Apple not selling via spec sheet, I am comparing these specs to the original SE. If I am remembering correctly, that phone had the latest processor and most of the other specs of the equivalent flagship phone. It was just smaller and cheaper. This rumored tech is quite a bit behind the current gen iPhones.
