i want iPhone SE X.
I can't see Apple making a rookie mistake and labeling it with a moniker like SEX LOL

I would pay up to 2500$ for the new iPhone SE X.
Apple should stop making insanely huge phablets and concentrate on normal sizes like 3,5-4 inch!
3D Touch would be nice, but is not a must have for me.
HAHAHA when you put SE X and 3 or 4 inch in the same comment, I'm waiting for the meme

It's not going to have a damn A10.

When they released the SE, and nearly every iteration of the iPod Touch, everyone was surprised that they shipped with Apple's state-of-the-art processor. Then they stayed on the market without being updated for years. That's the strategy, and that strategy doesn't work if you launch a new product with old tech.

It'll have an A11 because it'll still be on the shelf in 2020.

Around the introduction of iPhone 6, Apple started getting real stupid. It introduced a protruding camera, awful antenna lines, this was followed after by a confusing list of device names and complete disregard for smaller devices.

Apple should get back to simplicity. Release three models TOGETHER - small, regular, large, in three options, good, better, best. Done.

This is how it should go:

Depending on the specs, I might seriously consider ditching my 8+ for it.

Dream list would include:

- Similar battery life
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- 3D Touch would probably have to be a must for me... 3D-touching the keyboard to move the cursor has definitely spoiled me.

“Would-be-nice but not a dealbreaker if they’re not included because I’m aware that, at the end of the day, this is a budget phone” list:
- True Tone Display
- Gen 2 Touch ID
- Water resistance

I honestly don’t care for wireless charging, but if that’s being included then it makes me a bit optimist that 3D Touch will be included as well.

Based off your graphic that you posted, you're indicating that Apple should charge prices for the iPhones at cost? Could you elaborate your logic behind that and how Apple would generate a profit based off a $300 iPhone Plus?

When SE was introduced, one of the biggest factors that the guy said on stage was some people love smaller phones. Somehow, womehwere in the past 2 years, the Love of Small phones got warped into "Budget inexpensive iPhone". No, I have an SE because I love small phones, not because of budget. Give me a Premium 4", Apple.
This is not about getting you the phone you want. It is about seeing you more often at a store for a new glass backside

If we are going the route of "classic" devices which retain the home button for a few years and X devices which are FaceID only then it really does make sense for Apple to create a more premium version of the SE as well (bring everything that will fit, so the camera module will be more basic).

I do feel bad for anyone who prefers the form factor for one handed use but gets gimped on specs and delays to refreshes. Heck, create a classic version too that uses the A10. Satisfy both markets properly if we are going to two tiers of devices and then sack off the legacy stuff before the 8.

The split between iOS devices which have 3D Touch and those that don't is ridiculous at the moment. Get it on everything so experiences can be consistent with each other or just sack it off. It absolutely shouldn't be an experience only for certain phones. iPad is crying out for it.
The iPhone SE help tips app explains how to use 3D Touch. On a phone that doesn't have 3D Touch.

I hate that Apple have left this size of phone out in the cold!

I used to get the latest phone every 2-3 years, and it was fun having the newest things for a little while. Apple have now taken that fun away from the small phone sizes :(

Wouldn't surprise me if it started at 16GB too . .

Glass still shatters.... I know its probably what people may want today, but how about bringing back plastic back like the iPhone 5c?

For the love of god please don;t take away our headphone jack Apple

We're just lucky, Apple hasn't gotten round to the Mac's just yet... And by that, they could technically do that... Make everyone by Earpods. or adapters. Be more money for them, so nothing it really stopping them. Except perhaps, "what would they replace the space with.."

If they made an SE version* that was akin to going from the iPhone 8 to the X – only ~4% larger in length and width, yet jumping to 426 ppi versus 326 ppi – then you could have a compact device with roughly 1600 x 900 pixels, measuring approximately 5.07" x 2.40 x 0.30". This would put the resolution about midway between the 8 and 8 Plus. I would buy such a device in a heartbeat.

*With the A11 of course.

As others, im willing to spend X money on a full featured SE. Why must we be peanalised for wanting a discreet phone?

I think it’s more that there isn’t enough space to cram everything in if you want to preserve the form factor and still have decent battery life.

Larger phones have more room for better hardware. That’s just physics at work here.

An a10-chip that‘ll already be 1 1/2 generations behind would certainly be a dissapointment. It’d also be an admission that they don’t care as much about AR and machine learning as they want us to believe.

Hopefully it will also be water-resistant and have a 2nd gen touchID. I don‘t care much about wireless charging - that‘ll only make the device heavier.

no a11 and no water resistance and i‘ll probably just keep my 5s.
How much of their product mix is the SE? We don’t know, but the SE is simply a starter iPhone with low share. It not having the newest silicon isn’t an admission Apple isn’t serious about AR, lol. They just aren’t going to give you everything in a $350 entry level iPhone.

With so many apple devices available both new and used I say not likely at all in any way unless apple wants to devalue it’s entire line with another device.

The successor to the iPhone SE ... "the official launch in May or June"?! seriously?

They've had so much time since 2017 and the delay by an entire quarter? And no 3D touch?! Why?!

Hardware shouldn't be delayed like this ... further, the economies of scale (6S, 7, 8, X, Apple Watch S2/S3) deem 3D Touch should be so cheap to implement it should be included without thought.

And then battery life would be crap and people would complain they need to charge their phones twice a day wrecking the battery. That whole chain is a certainty and that's why you won't get it.

A smaller phone also has less space for battery and to counter that, you make a lower dpi screen to not kill the battery (the screen is the biggest battery user).
