Perhaps AAPL has concluded that people who demand the mini size will continue to buy an older model while the rest of the line moves forward. In other words, AAPL only has to produce a new mini every couple of years to satisfy demand, lowering its development and manufacturing costs. I suppose we will learn more about AAPL's strategy for the mini concept if the 13 mini is still available during the 15 timeframe.

The problem with this is that the SE is a popular phone for the visually disabled.

Face ID isn't exactly the easiest thing to deal with if you are blind. The home button makes things easier. Making an action button that is going to be along with the sides with volume buttons & power buttons on the top may become a confusing change for older visually impaired persons.

The SE isn't just a phone of choice for those who don't want to spend as much money, but is welcome design for the visually impaired.

Wow, The worst screen in a phone in the market if keeps LED. Refresh rate: pathetic.
Action button: horrible gimmick.

Apple currently sells too many different iPhones and that’s wrong from the sales figures and for the costumers. Now the sell SE, 12, 13 mini, 13, 14, 14 plus, 14 pro, 14 pro max. 8 phones.

Next fall or spring they should sell new SE mini (or 13 mini), new SE (13 size), 14, 15 pro, 15 pro max. 5 phones. If people want big phone they have to spend extra, if they want cheaper they go mini.

I would love to see and iPhone 15 pro mini, I would not care about the thickness of the phone if it have a great battery life, but I now I am dreaming and I will keep my 12 mini.

How is it a gimmick when it would be something people would use all the time to open up the camera for example?

I too think Apple should reduce the lineup this upcoming September. I think they will switch the iPhone 14 (and maybe the mini) to USB-C, and the lineup will be simplified killing the 12 and 13. That way, we’d have: iPhone SE 3 as an entry level iPhone for one more year, iPhone mini (with USB-C and the current internals or with the 14 internals), iPhone 14 (now with USB-C), iPhone 15, 15 plus, 15 pro and 15 pro Max.

If that’s true, it would be a curious decision. I can’t see why they would put it on the SE and not on the regular 15. It made sense as a pro exclusive to upsell. But they’d be “down selling” in this case.
By the time the SE comes out, there will already be an iPhone 16 which I presume will also have an action button like the 15 Pro. I thought it would be a Pro-only feature, but it does make sense to have it on all models for simplicity.

I think the size will be similar to the Mini, and the price will be at least $599.

It’s the frequent contradictory posting and reactions that had/has me wondering. Also, their profile pic, until recently, was always some sexually suggestive female. Just odd to me.
See post #87 vs post #11
Thumbs up on 87 despite a clear contradiction to 11.

Unless the Pro phones somehow get thinner and lighter I might go back an SE size phone. My current 14Pro chunkster is a little much. I miss having a phone that doesn't look like a strange growth on my leg when pocketed.

How can its size be similar to the Mini if it is based on iPhone 14? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm not particularly worried that Apple wouldn't find annoying ways to gimp an SE based on the 14 to set it apart from the regular 2025 phone.
Agreed - they're very good at that!

And I agree with you re. your comment about the wide angled lens.

I think the SE is simply for people who want a great point and shoot camera on their iPhone.

For example, my parents never use the wide angled lens on their iPhone 13. They don't even know how to invoke it.

Nor do they have a clue how to use the other controls in the camera app. And that's totally fine.

So yeah, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise if the SE just has a great standard lens (and no night mode either, as you say).

I think the person is a model. Or she was a model. If she's from Vegas like her profile says, Vegas is known for having lots of models.

I correct my self it has to be also a 15 regular.

So 6 phones, 8 seems a lot and the gaps are too small in between.
