Iphone SE Cost

Anyone could build their own for 190; easy peasy.
...but you can't use Apple's specs or materials. You need to also do your own R&D, build your own software, run your own server farm, etc.

In fact, you can get iPhoney's on eBay for ~$100. Done and done.

you guys are all nuts. its 2016. A iPhone without haptic feedback, 3d touch, barometer and 5+mp FFC mind as well be a paper weight. These are all huge linchpins, especially the barometer and haptic feedback w/ 3D Touch.
How does anyone ever do anything with pretty much all mobile phones out there today short of basically iPhone 6s line of phones? It's just crazy! (Which clearly must mean that everyone else is nuts.)

Let me put it this way. I sold my 6s Plus and bought an SE. What does that make me??? I have had and will always have every single iPhone that Apple releases and I know have the iPhone SE to make it through until September which is not a long way away.

Will I go to the 7 Plus at that time??? Most likely, but that doesn't take anything away from this phone. It's a beast in its own right.

Look at the geek bench and the reviews for this phone!!! The 6s is $250 more for maybe $75 worth of gimmicks and screen size... Whoopy...

Can't disagree, very high value proposition with the SE.

At some point after the Mhz war reached a precipice where professional applications could be run smooth without any lag whatsoever I stopped looking at raw power and starting looking at one time upgradable features.
I also started looking at legacy devices that still have value with third party software updates available today.
Maybe I'm wrong but i've yet to be blindsided by a researched purchase.

To me 3D Touch, Haptic Feedback and the barometer are the cream of the crop one time features that can't be replaced and also compliment existing technology to the point where removing them from consideration borders on insanity.

Now, I genuinely hope, for your sake, that you're trolling; otherwise, it's just sad.

No. I'm very serious. I think a lot of people are in denial that we are in 2016.

In my mind its unacceptable to remove these features(or at the very least the barometer)(for the reasons i mentioned earlier) from consideration.

I'll be honest with you completely. The lack of 3D Touch in the SE is not a biggie and should only be on the 6s and 6s Plus. The barometer is really not even close to a deal breaker for a $400 phone as not even close to all of the nations use one anyway. The only disappointment in the SE would be the FFC and even that is not a big deal to most people that would be using the phone anyway... The 5 mp FFC would have been better to have in the SE than the 1.2 mp one that's in the phone...

Other then that show me a midrange android phone with the benchmarks of the SE and I'll rest!!

I think you might be selling yourself short but to each their own i guess . For me; the lack of barometer is the straw that breaks the camels back. Good luck with your purchase. =)

...
And if I may make a small suggestion pickup a Duracell PM II sleeve (s) kits for the 5 series the kits are going super cheap on eblay.
And don't forget in your travels.... what fits the 5/5s will probably fit the SE as well and the other way around.

Idk that it'll need a battery case or a sleeve. The battery on this phone lasts longer then my 6s Plus or my 6s. Or my 6 or my 6 Plus for that matter. I have every 6 model and 6s model iPhone so the SE isn't my only iPhone option, but it's the one I may stay on for a while maybe until the 7 comes out...

What is it you do on your phones that the SE lasts so much longer, if I may ask? I've drained both batteries doing nothing but streaming videos over LTE from full to dead (well, 1%) and both were just under 7 hours. The difference was in minutes, which is impressive of the SE. I'm just curious what sort of battery life differences you were noticing.

It's not a major difference over the 6s Plus, but over the 6s it's about 2 hours of usage difference.

Of course I'm talking normal everyday usage. I'm talking 20-25 minutes longer than the plus and up to 2 hours longer than the 6s

Ah ok. Makes a little more sense to me. That's about the difference in seeing on a plus as well, give or take.
