Ya'll think it'll have 120Hz display?
No it will be 60 hz for sure, which will be the major differential factor upselling to the upcoming 17 series which will all have Promotion displays.

The new SE will be a big seller though for sure if less than £500, with companies buying in bulk to issue as work phones to employees.

I’m very tempted. The camera won’t be as much as the Pro, but it’s way more than my 11. And for almost a grand less than the Pro, I’m seriously thinking of going back to an SE. (I had a first gen SE.) Yeah it doesn’t have the 5X, but the rest of the kit is great.

The SE is the only phone my company offers. I don't know if they will update to the this model for current users, but they will definitely start buying.

It's Apple who is hyping up its 'Apple Intelligence' to the general public. It has to keep iPhone sales up every year.
Apple, MS, Google, and the rest have sunk billions into AI systems. They can’t admit to their shareholders that a huge proportion of their customers don’t want it and it won’t drive sales. It’s going to be a net loss, a blind ally that they wasted a lot of resources on. That will come in a few year when they can’t hide it any longer. AI has some good uses, but most people don’t need what its good at, and it is bad at so much.

This makes me wonder if they’ll stop selling the 15 and 14 at the same time since they don’t support Apple Intelligence and this supposedly will. This is probably the phone my wife will upgrade her 12 mini from if the price is reasonable. It sounds really good if the rumours are true.

Good phone for the grand parents or kids assuming a $499 price point. Also good for folks that don't have any sort of upgrade coming from their provider.w

I’m only guessing but I suspect the 14 will no longer be offered as soon as the new SE comes out. The 15 will no longer be offered once the 17’s come out later this year.

Because they discontinued the iPod line. A lot of companies had to switch from iPod to the cheapest iPhone last year. This definitely helped to boost the sales.

I think if the price is low and the modem performs well then it will sell very, very well.

I am very looking forward to the release! The overall package looks very tempting and many many people will be happy with it. Just hoping Apple doesn't increase the price too much as it sounds a bit too good to be true for under 500 bucks.

Forget AI for a second. You have a $500 phone capable of playing high end games. Your $2000 Samsung foldable can’t even do that.

Couple with a tried and tested design and USBc and it’s great value for money. You don’t really need a wide angle camera when the panorama mode still exists.

Who are you talking to when saying "your $2000 Samsung foldable"?

They’ll keep the 15 for the camera, Dynamic Island, color choice, and the Plus size, and more importantly to fill in the price points.

In the EU the iPhone 14 is already gone from the Apple Store, due to not having a USB-C port.

Now I wonder if there’ll somehow be both an iPhone SE and an iPhone 16E, just to cover the price gap between the SE and the 15 (or the 16 once the 17 launches). Seems unlikely, but that would truly be a “new family member”.

Need the green to be real, please Apple!

$200 android phones have 120hz displays now.
I don't know a single budget phone target customer who knows about 120 Hz, or cares about it.

Franky, most of the target audience are older people (including me) who can't see the difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz, or parents who want cheap phones for their kids. For them and for the remaining target audience for budget phones, a private, secure ecosystem, a brand name like Apple, after sales support like Apple's, and everything else that only iPhones offer will always counters the lack of 120 Hz.

You should ask yourself. Would you pick an Android phone over an iPhone because it offers 120Hz? Are you aware of the trade-offs?

I think the point is that it's 2025

120hz should be the standard
