Until it doesn't, I mean who comes up with this stuff. It'll sell as much as the target demographic that already buys it;

cost conscious consumers (who don't care or even know about AI)
businesses (who won't let AI anywhere near their estate)
upgrading from earlier models.

Maybe I'm being unkind, they may sell boatloads, but not on an aggressive scale, maybe over few years.

The only exception could be is for Mini owners upgrading if the specs are as close to the old mini size, which iirc, sold that much over each model's life cycle & was considered a poor seller.

While I would have loved to have it in the size of a 12 mini like my current phone this is probably my next phone. I never used the second camera lens anyway and I don't need the action button. The rest of the specs are almost the same anyway. And I am not gonna pay 1100 Euros for a phone! I didn't pay much more for my M1 MacBook Air.

Good luck with that patent litigation Qualcomm. Apple did buy someone else’s modem business with patents. But hey I guess they could also dig a little deeper into your purchase of Nuvia and what they mate have taken from Apple.

I think Apple assumes the general public is far more hyped about their “Apple Intelligence” than they really are.

This is correct. Tim Cook dodges and dances around anything remotely close to admitting that hardly anyone is using Apple intelligence and that a poll showed barely any interest even in Apple intelligence. Just like with the Vision Pro, Tim Cook is so out of touch and refuses to build what people actually want, instead choosing the “we know what they like even if they don’t know it yet!” Approach. With that said, I think the SE will be a big hit. not for the Apple intelligence, but for the price if they do it right. We’ll see soon here I’m sure. I’m curious to see what standard specs are on it.

I have a 14PM and I am considering this phone - I’m not liking the renders of the 17 Air/Pro, and I haven’t liked the design of the 15/16 pro. I may wait for the regular 17 to make a decision - I have seen little hype on that phone. I just want a classic iPhone look that will work smoothly

I'm waiting for one, but depends on the price. If Apple goes full Apple mode, and make this $599 or more, I'll pass. I rather just pony up for a 16 or wait for refurbished 15 Pro to be available.

$449-$499 would be a great deal for this iPhone and specs.

Feh. The SE is the only small screen phone on the market and Apple requires developers to support it so you have to jump through hoops to cram your user-interface into that size. What's even more ridiculous is that I've seen people with an SE blowing up the font size so they can see it.

Or this could start a new iPhone release trend, similar to what Google does with its Pixel "a" models i.e., launch a budget version of a previous year's model every year.

This year's budget iPhone would be the 16E, next year the 17E, year after that the 18E, and so on. It could also mean that one and two year old models would no longer be offered new from Apple.
That’s certainly possible. It would be a major change in their established iPhone strategy.

I think the point is that it's 2025

120hz should be the standard
Why ? Refresh rate is just ONE parameter to define a display, and not even the most important.
Apple’s 60 Hz display are among the best on the market anyway.
On a 900€ iPhone 16 a 120 Hz panel should be the standard, but on a budget iPhone not necessarily
There’s a Chinese retailer website showing 64GB as the base storage…surely that can’t be the case?
Hopefully not. 64 GB are not enough even for basic operations

Maybe the developers should instead design for the smaller UI and let it scale up instead of the other way around. There are too many developers nowadays wasting space on screen because it "looks good" on screenshots on a larger screen.

Nope. It will be the iPhone 14 display, most probably.

And so ? Most $200 android phones (but even $500…) has displays that don’t really compare with iPhone’s, even if the refresh rate is higher.
Refresh rate is just ONE element of the screen, and not even the most important.

Might have been true 5 years ago but not true today. Look outside of Apple's walled garden and you'll see how far technology has truly advanced.

Is it even possible to read those displays outside? When I started to use the Google Pixel 6a, I could barely see the display at full brightness. The 2020 or 2022 iPhone SE display is easily visible.

I own a 2022 iPhone SE and the lie detector test proved that was a lie.

I had a Google pixel 3a and it was absolutely amazing for the price when it released. The SE of the time couldn’t even hold a candle to the camera, etc on that phone. I can only hope Apple really delivers with this new SE

I can't count the number of people who buy the more expensive iPhone models and then almost never use the high-end features they're paying for. My girlfriend is one of them: she bought the 15 Pro Max thinking she would instantly take awesome pictures like in the ads, but never reads any manual to begin with and doesn't understand most photo/video options, never goes into settings, etc. She's definitely not tech-savvy. On the other hand, I consider myself a geek, love reading and exploring all the features, but I bought an iPhone SE because I almost never take pics or videos and don't see why I should pay 2 to 3 times the price for bells and whistles I won't need. I think if consumers were all rational, the iPhone SE would be, by far, the most popular iPhone. It has pretty much what most people need, and at a reasonable price.

Expecting the new SE to sell well. With a new design, more RAM and hopefully a better starting storage capacity at 128 GB, it should make it a very nice iPhone.

I’m constantly looking, and I stand my position: most of the Android’s flagships still doesn’t compare to iPhone, not to speak about middle and low level models. Absolute garbage according to my standards.

Even the Pixel 8a's rather pedestrian display is better in every way than the current iPhone SE's display. If you don't agree, I guess fine - but there's no way to justify that position with objective measurements.

You liked about having a 2022 iPhone SE? Why tell me about it?

In the other case, I live in a very sunny area (most of the time), and the Google Pixel 6a display was mostly invisible outside while the iPhone SE was just fine.

Back then, the Pixel phones were better.
