That literally goes against the entire ethos of iOS and I hope it never happens

they don’t.

Exactly.

I love Chinese products but every time I buy something from china be it electronic or clothes it’s low quality and doesn’t last lok.

Besides Android is usually terrible on older hardware.
For example Xiaomi is not low quality, they make a sh*tload of different electronic products and those products are usually bang for $. Go look at latest Oppo flagship (MKBHD video), looks awesome. If Apple Watch was independent product I would try Android phone again.

Ah ya and that’s because of no Apple Intelligence availability. Not rocket science as to the reason why. Also govt incentive does not cover Apple high end phones but 16e will take care of that for June Q

A new posting from China Observer on YouTube, a very reliable source of News from inside China. Is reporting a sudden and very quiet move of CNC machines out of the Foxconn Fuliang Technology facility in Wuhan. China Observer is reporting sources say Apple, is shifting iPhone 17 production out of China. They didn't say where Vietnam is, the obvious location. This has been in the works for a long time, but the tariff situation has accelerated the move.

2 behemoths - Apple and Tesla - falling in rising markets. Not just losing share but actually falling.

Okay, there are some pretty stark differences in the CEO's, but are there similarities between their models that could be causing this?
There are also similarities. The only two in their field making profits from their core business. So there is that as well. Both have the same philosophy: don’t sacrifice the long term for the short term.

And it is only gonna get „worse“. I was in Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong recently and the hardware of these phones there make iPhone look like the Nokia of 2025. Needless to say, I returned with my first ever Oppo device (not even sold here in Germany).

Apple is lucky they got most people in the west hooked on their locked in ecosystem
I wish some of these phones from Vivo and OPPO were available through cellular carriers in the US!

Personally, I wouldn't want to see any commingling of Apple & Tesla in discussions.

Really different animals, in my view.

Tesla is still deriving like 40% of its profit from regulatory credits.

You are comparing apples to oranges. One thing they do share is their direct competitors in China are receiving significant government subsidies enabling them to undercut price wise. Although they seem to be evaporating everywhere at the moment, free trade and fair markets are rapidly disappearing globally. Consumer preference driven by subsidies and market interference paints a distorted picture and data that does not accurately represent manufacturers. It seems pretty clear a large portion of Apple's lost market share is driven by the subsidies.

I mean I have no interest in anything remotely Android. It’s a terrible Os.

Xiaomi phones look good though. But unfortunately marred by Android

Someone please link me these unicorn class phones that are objectively more advanced hardware wise then Iphones. Because a casual search is not showing them.

Apple has lost that design maverick ethos they had under Steve Jobs. Everything is too safe, minor iterative upgrades with nothing too radical. You could even say they have become boring and predictable under Tim Cook.

Sports teams tend to reflect the values and style of their coach.

The same is true here.

Even though Apple devices have the fastest chips and FaceID that is more secure than other companies Authentication they are lagging behind other companies hardware….does that not sound ridiculous?
This is something I wish Android manufacturers would catch up with Apple. Alas android manufacturers seems focused on adding crazy features that might or might not appeal to users. I don't care for folding phones, but there are millions who do. I don't care about wrap around display, but other do. I require root access, but the vast majority don't care. Choice is good.🤗
I’m not saying there aren’t some really nice options if iOS is boring to you, but with the exception of folding devices I don’t see what metric Apple devices aren’t at least equal.
Cameras. A lot of Chinese phones have 1" sensors (and comically oversized lens). They have zoom out the wazoo. We've been hearing about telescope zoom from Apple for years now. I doubt they can match the android camera offerings unless they make the iPhone thicker. I like 'em thicc.😘

All I want is the banner that tells me they are connected to go away. Why does it have to pop up so often? I know they are connected, they are in my ears and I am listening to something. Dozens of times a day, I open the phone to do something, while wearing the Airpods, and a chunk of my screen is occluded by the "Airpods Connected" banner. It's often covering something I need to see. . It's like Windows with constant dialogue boxes, or a browser with ad pop-ups, etc. Doesn't the people at Apple use their products and see what is wrong?

Do you have any evidence to substantiate that claim?
There was June article published by Macrumors where the three companies gave their estimates about shipping iPhones or bought iPhones or whatever it was. A small three were off by a huge margin. Clearly we don’t know a “correct” number because Apple doesn’t provide it. Nor do we know the statistical error of these numbers provided by idc.

You can’t prove these numbers are wrong or right.

As someone who went from Android to IOS and then ran screaming back to Android, I wonder how many of the commenters putting Android down have tried a current android phone. IMO Android is far far ahead of IOS (I am running Android 15, wife has IOS 18.4).

For me the value proposition of apple devices is greater than android. Of course YMMV.
