She doesn't live in Houston, but she does live in Texas. We were both at the Houston airport, but I was only there for a layover. I would post her Facebook, but she is underage and I'm not sure if posting her info could cause any problems for me.

you can say one of the forum members did research and "found" the link

I'm thinking, after a little research, a call to her parents is in order. And then the police.

But yeah, 3 weeks gone by? What's going on now???

This is messed up. There is nothing to discuss here. Just report this witch/bitch's ass to the police and let her suffer in the jail for years. Justice must be served.

She's just a kid. While what she did was wrong, and she will pay the consequences for it, the level of retribution you are seeking just won't happen because she is protected by age of minority laws.

OP, it would be wise to not post her Facebook here. It would cause a lot of other harassment issues and she would eventually change all of her privacy settings. Report your loss to the police, and did you even try to message her? Nicely ask that she found your iPhone and if she could return it at a public location, or offer to ship it at your expense. If she refuses, tell her that you have proof and timelines of the events, and remember to save her profile page and friends list as an HTML file in Firefox.

Edit: Search her last name in her friends list and find her parents, if she does not cooperate, find their phone numbers on WhitePages, and explain the situation and how their daughter found an iPhone that wasn't hers.

This should be reported to the cyber-police so consequences will never be the same! Clearly, she dun goofed! ;):D

Unless she is really young like 10 years old then, there is no excuse for this. Minority Law? Fine. However, this should be filed and put into her record about her criminal activity. This way she will never ever ever even think about doing this again. This girl is what is wrong with this country. This is why our country is falling behind others. I hope she gets kicked out of the country. She doesn't even deserve to be in jail. She should be kicked out.

Why did you block her last name out? I wanna see her comments.

Post her whole name so I can look her up on facebook, come on.

You're going a little far with that. You have to deal with the fact that there's stupid people living in the world.

I wonder if she was at the airport with her parents when she found it? Idk too many underage kids who travel alone. That is effed if they didn't make her turn it in to lost and found.

It depends on to what extent the OP will go to satiate his anger. He can easily get the phone back, have the parents pay a monetary expense, and have her do something like community service so she learns her lesson.

Or he can do as you said and have it filed and put on her criminal record. By doing so, he will basically screw her chances of ever going to a real college or obtaining most decent paying jobs; it's sad that one bad decision like this could pretty much crush any hopes and dreams she had for her future. And her chances of stealing or engaging in unlawful activities again will be much higher if she has no hope for the future.

I'm angry, but I just want my phone back. Ideally I'd have her learn from this and clean her white trash self up, but I can't be bothered to deal with courts. If I get my phone back, I'm happy. I don't want to destroy the rest of her life, but I do want her to regret this bad decision.

Oh that's nonsense. I did some incredibly stupid **** as a teenager (read: worse than stealing a phone), they seal that stuff. I went to a very good university, have had great jobs, etc..

Have you tried messaging her? Read this:

I did. I messaged her and left a voicemail on her cell phone. I told her that I didn't want to get the police involved, but I would if she didn't get into contact with me. I waited a while, hoping for a response, but she never got back to me. So I guess I'm calling the cops when I get home.

Yea they do seal a lot of stuff, especially for minors. But the near future wouldn't look so bright for her.

What a selfish brat, does she have mommy and daddy added on Facebook?

Op already called her phone and asked for the phone back, but she did not call him back. She is basically ignoring her. I would go as far as put her on criminal record. I would use the word "screw"
She deserves to be ruined. She asked for it.

Being stupid is not a problem. I get that. But, someone being stupid and steal someone's phone and humiliate the owner of the phone? This is a WAR! ROAR!

The OP is full of ****, or he is too stupid to call the cops and get his phone back.

I really dont know which is worse, attention seeking or stupid.

That might not have been the brightest of ideas. Knowing how little kids think... she'll probably toss your phone in the nearest dumpster in fears of it being traced back to her.

You can call the police and get your phone back without pressing charges. :p Outside of for immediate neighbors, the police should be the first people you contact.
