So if I have a new iphone 5 account with at&t...get this lock from fusion...and decide I want to cancel my account with at&t (even thought I just got my phone 3 days ago) and use this on tmobile or straight talk...will it work ? and will they let me port my number ? I know I will have to eventually pay the ETF....or do you have to pay the full price of the phone ?

You won't get LTE if you do that.

You'll have to pay for one month on AT&T as well as the activation fees.

dev.mk seems to think my AT&T i5 is already unlocked. Weird.

It's inaccurate. There was a separate thread when the phone first came out. However, if you buy the phone for full price, it will be unlocked, and it appears all Verizon iPhones, even subsidized models, are unlocked.

Sorry if its been answered before but if I use this method to unlock my AT&T 4S is there any way I can use it with Verizon?

Your choice.
Thousands of others got theirs unlocked from him with no probs.
Unless you're trying to advertise your site here with both of your posts linking to that site. You dont trust ebay and a seller with thousands of positive feedback but you trust just any random site.
Sure....

AT&T Activation Hell

Activation Nightmare

Im overseas where the iPhone 5 is not available in my country hence I bought 2 iPhone 5s from eBay US (AT&T) from two diff sellers..

The first iPhone was sealed with a AT&T sim. I took the sim out put in my carrier, paid for a unlock and everything works great.

The second iPhone was not sealed and had no sim, I had it unlocked, put in my sim however I get the AT&T activation screen wanting billing details and security number digits.

What can I do here??? I thought the unlock process wiped out the activation process (my first phone did not have this problem)

Any help much appreciated

They not only did my unlock in record time, but also sent me a follow up message making sure everything was ok...

I know what you're saying.
See if the seller will give you that info. If not there's no way around it besides bringing it to AT&T or have apple replace it.
Try to get a refund from the seller if he won't help you cause it's pretty much useless until that initial activation without that info.

Cheer for the advice mate much appreciated.

Can you tell me if the billing Zip code and last 4 digits of social security is all that is required or does it go to another stage asking for more personal info?

Also I read that once activated, its activated for life? The seller sold it to me as Off Contract however I guess in theory it is on contract still as it comes up with his phone number in iTunes

----------

Sounds like the second one was already activated.

Yeah the second one (thankfully this was the 64GB one for me) was sealed in a box with a AT&T sim card. Im guessing this was a full price off contract phone and the 16GB phone I'm having a problem with is an "upgrade" phone which he cashed in on hence tied to his contract for activation

That's all it will ask.
And like you said it is bought under contract. If not you would have never saw that screen.
Not like you can do much with that info, hope he gives it to you if he has it available.

Hi

He gave me the info (thank god) and now everything OK (my unlock worked also after the activation screen)!

One last question - can it ever be "de-activated" Im thinking in the future if I ever sell it etc when I upgrade next time

Regards

Paul

Great.
If you're asking about that screen again it will never come up.
And it will activate fine in the future with any gsm sim.

I have a question...
If you unlock your iPhone and...one day, you need to get a replacement from apple genius, will the replacement phone be unlocked as well?

The general consensus from those who've done it is yes.
