I just got a call back from the Apple online store team. He said they have reserved a matte black 7 Plus 256gb for me that I can pick up on September 16th at my local Apple store. That's the model and finish I wanted. Good for Apple for correcting the IUP mess so quickly. I hope it goes as well for every other IUP member.

You called Saturday right? And where are you located?

Friday will be a zoo at the stores, did they give you an appointment?

i too got a call back.. Said to look for email. I wanted a 7+ Jet Black 128/256.. so lets see what the email says..
 
I received a call back a few moments ago, and though they did not have my 1rst choice, they did have my second choice available for pick up on Friday. I'm told to go to the store I told them was my preference, and let them know that I'm with IUP and was sent by Customer Care and they would have one available for me up to a week from launch date. I was provided an email along with phone number and extension should I have any questions, and was assured that the store would be prepared and know what to do.....I'll take the contact info with me on Friday. I already have a reservation for one that I'm purchasing out right, and will request my IUP at that time.
My back-up choice was Black 128
 
Just got a call back. 2-3 weeks for me but I did not give a second choice so I guess that's as good as it gets. 7 128gb jet black.

I emailed Phil Schiller on Friday (it was a pleasant email that expressed it would have been nice to have a waiting list). Within hours executive relations called me and took info. They called me back today and said they had a 7+ Jet Black 128GB reserved for me (what I asked for) on Friday and that I would have a week to get it.

This was above and beyond anything I expected. I just wanted to give feedback and hopefully get on a wait list.

Yes, called Saturday evening. I'm in Florida. No, no appointment time. He just said to stand in the iPhone pickup line and tell the specialist I was sent by the Apple contact center because I'm a member of the IUP. Yes, it'll be a zoo. I have one week to pick it up but you can bet I'll be there on the 16th.
 
Dumbest thing ever and only in America. What's next? Sue Apple because you can't buy it with a 3.5mm headphone jack? I guess it's so important for people to be able to spend $900 on a smartphone in 2016 and when we can't get it we sue. Entitlement issues sheesh!

They sent a confirmation email but with no details, just contact info of the person who called me.

I just called today to put in my request for an iPhone 7 Plus Black 128GB or 256GB T-mobile model. Waited about 100 minutes from start to finish (30 minutes to get to the first rep, then transferred me to iPhone Upgrade Team which was another 70 minute wait). Violet took my information, estimated 2 business days to research and locate the phone and emailed me her contact info. In the meantime, I enrolled my girlfriend to receive an iPhone 7 128GB Verizon model scheduled to arrive on Sept 16. If the 7 plus is delayed, I'll be using hers until my config is available. She's getting an early Xmas present ;-).
 
For the sake of completeness I'll update here as well, I got a call today that my first choice phone (7+ 256GB black) will be reserved at my local store on Friday. Better than I expected as well.
 
Where the Sunday morning callers at? Did you get a call from Apple yet?
