It would completely defeat the purpose of a credit report/score if a creditor who is extending you new credit could code it as a soft pull. Then they will all start doing it so that people won't go "no hard pull" and bail.
Actually they aren't really extended me new credit. They're basically piggybacking off of credit I already have by charging an existing CC.

Yeah, you have a old grandfathered plan. Do you still have unlimited data?

Yes I do. And, I think I'd like to keep it … unless it could be cheaper on a different plan that's enough for my use. Or, if I have to switch to a different plan to upgrade my phone.

As a follow up to my own post, I was able to create an account at Citizens One's site and successfully change my recurring monthly payment option to my business AMEX. So basically you just have to use a personal card when initially purchasing the phones, running the credit check, etc, but you should be able to change it to whatever card you like, or even an ACH bank draft, once you get setup on Citizen One's site.

How did you create your acct? In trying to register, it asks me for a Loan Number but I don't see it in my email.

Depends on your situatuon. If you do the Apple upgrade program(other options as well) you can still keep that plan. AT&T offers $25 off a line on the new mobile share plans if you either have a AT&T Next installment device, bring your own device, or the device is out of contract.

We had the same Familyshare plan until a family member got a 4g iPad and it was then cheaper to switch to the mobile share plan.

I never got an email from Citizens Bank. Should I have gotten one?

Yes, if you signed up for AUP. The title is "Citizens One Loan Truth In Lending Disclosure" and basically outlines the program and your payments. But the Loan # I was looking for is actually on the Apple receipt.

how long does it take to receive the email?

That's not correct. The bank has loaned you the money for the phone and AC, minus taxes. The fact that you're repaying the loan on a credit card is irrelevant.

Had a reservation today at 10:30 am left the store at 3:00pm. All sorts of snafus with the iPhone Upgrade Program. I had one number that AT&T kept saying it was eligible and but wouldn't go through the processing screen. I ended up having to create an additional line to get my wife's phone. Then on my account I got denied once because I misspelled my address and was good to go after.

It was a long day but I have both phones and the amazing Specialist at Apple gave me and wife a free case because of all the issues.

Ok just got this second! I guess 4 hours later isn't bad for such a crazy day :)

No, you don't.

Below is a copy of the Truth In Lending disclosures describing some of the important financial terms that will apply to your loan if your application is approved and if you choose to accept the loan.

Look at the very bottom of your receipts. You'll see all the info you need, including Loan Number, first installment plus tax, etc. This is the info you need to input on Citizens One's site when you create a new account to manage your loan.

You're right, I completely missed that information! Thanks, I was able to move the payments to my checking account.

I had no problems at all. I had a 9 am reservation...I was in line at about 8:20 am. I only waited about 20 minutes. The non-reservation line was long..hundreds. The upgrade program sign up went smooth...no issues. Apple employees def still learning though.
