I have a charge for $0.00 and a charge for $109.. Neither of which are the correct amount that my first payment should be. Seems very odd to me as well..
Others have said the initial auth is for three payments, and will drop off. Just to make sure you have room under your credit limit.

I was only charged one payment and tax. No 3 month pull.

The process was ridiculously easy and took 5 minutes. Approval was instant.

Has anyone with on a corporate phone account been success with the iphone upgrade program? I checked with my IT department, and they have no issue with me swapping out the iphone by inserting the old sim into the new phone, but when I went to the Apple store today, they said that corporate accounts are not allowed.

This whole apple upgrade program seems to be badly conceived and executed. I don't understand how the program is supposed to be an 'unlocked' phone without carrier restrictions if one has to be off-contract, has to activate on one of the 4 carriers in order to be eligible.

I agree. you should just be able to buy the phone through the program and pop your sim in, no account info and activation process.

I just spoke with Citizens and got some good info:

1) There is an issue with AMEX that they are working on
2) It is a hard pull.
3) You have to wait 24 hours for them to tell you why you were denied.

1) Amex worked fine for me, no problems.
2) I don't have a hard pull

Ok, now we need to find out if they are actually using a hard inquiry for every upgrade. A guaranteed hard inquiry each year is rough.

Where I live we don't have mail service, so everyone as a PO Box. I went to the Apple store in Utah and tried to purchase/enroll in the upgrade program but was rejected as the billing address on my credit card is a PO Box. I was told that I need to change my credit card's billing address to a physical address. Can't do that the credit card company won't recognize my physical as a valid address. Guess I am not getting an iPhone 6s Plus :(

An incredibly long wait to get into the store; crazy long. But the actual transaction was about 20 minutes. I haven't checked any of my receipts yet.

Few questions. I called this morning and the rep sounded like it was the first time he had heard about the program.

  1. Do you have to trade in your current iPhone? He said yes...I found that hard to believe.
  2. Will being on iOS 9.1 beta 2 have any issue with restoring from a back up to the new phone? I should probably bump down to iOS 9.0 again...

Being on Beta definitely affected my restore. I had to bring the new phone home and install the Beta profile, then install 9.1 so my restore would work. Apparently they can't install Beta SW at the Apple Store.

That's really odd, then. It's likely just the standard emails.
A friend of mine had the same problem and he has even better credit score than me and he was furious in the Apple store. he called citizens one bank and the they told him that this was a problem which they were aware of and people have been calling then in this regard. Bank gave him this number to their finance department 1-888-427-9671 . Lady told him to call on Monday between 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. so i will give them a call

For those looking for good news... I finished getting two 6S plus phones with the apple upgrade program. It went very smoothly and was approved for both phones. Apple rep said they were soft pulls but from what I saw on here I don't believe that. As a reference to others my score is 741 (and no I'm not bragging, I found this useful to hear others mention this too earlier today).

Hi, i just came from an Apple Store here in Miami (yeah its 12:35AM) with my girlfriend. i'm on Sprint, she's on T-Mobile. She was having a nightmare with her account at T-Mobile until she was able to fix it, which she fortunately did.

Anyway, we both opted to get our iPhones using the the Upgrade Program, and the process was super smooth. We were both approved without any hesitation. i have a 680 credit score, and she has something way lower, just in case this helps anyone.

Good luck to all!! I got an iPhone 6S Plus in Silver.

What credit card company did you use for purchase/approval?
