Just got email from Apple, that they ready for pick-up tomorrow. I should bring 2 forms of id (DL+ credit card). US Passport is the second type of id for Apple :) Email has no my name, barcodes....

I actually got 2 emails for both of my reservations. Looking forward to tomorrow morning.

Currently I'm getting a $20 bill credit (basically) on the new Verizon plan. I (and anyone else) would continue to get this if I do installments with Verizon. I wonder if I do this if I will continue to get that credit.

If its like AT&T, you would be brining your own device and would qualify for the same credit.

What would be nice is if you could pay off the entire 1 year at one time, and then not have to pay monthly.

I wonder...

You can pay in advance after 6 months. Not sure why you'd want to it doesn't make it cheaper.

If you plan on upgrading every year don't pay in advance if you don't have to. The payments won't stop and you will end up paying more for the phone than you have to. When you return the phone that money is gone.

Well that's what I wonder. If an advanced payment actually applies to a next month payment.

For instance, wouldn't it be nice if I could pay the 12 months of payments $538 right up front and not have to worry about it till next year.

That's not how it works. The advance payment would reduce your overall balance but your monthy payment would continue with the next month. You would just pay it off sooner. You're basically throwing money away if you do this and plan on upgrading next year.

Obviously if it doesn't allow me to skip next months payment, I wouldn't do this.

Also, I hope new iPhone in 12 months and not longer LOL :)

Well typically they launch in September and since you're making your first payment upon signing up you should only have 12 payments until the next preorder.

Exactly right.

Exactly right.

Unless the next iPhone comes out September 26th, then possibly 13 payments.

I checked with AT&T. We have a FAN discount and have always had to upgrade our devices through AT&T Premier. I was worried it'd possibly cause problems trying to get on the Apple Upgrade Program, but they assured me that it will work fine. Chat support told me they recommend still having them activate the phone, rather than Apple, but there should be no issue getting the device in-store tomorrow.

Technically the AUP has nothing to do with the carrier, so you should be good there. And I hope we will be able to walk out of the store without having Apple activate it.

Yeah I was aware of that. I was just worried that perhaps the way our accounts are set up, or what system they live on, that the employees at the apple store would be unable to pull up our account information to confirm it exists before selling the phone to me.

Just to clarify, out the door tomorrow, I'm expecting to pay taxes on phone and applecare+ and first month installment, correct?
