Anyone else see this as you start the process?

"You can get preapproved for iPhone X until 4:00 pm MDT on 10.26"

...then in the email confirmation

"This preapproval will last for three days after pre-order begins."

Yeah, what they are saying is, you can go ahead and get pre-approved if you are an IUP member, up until 4pm on the 26th. After that, you won't be able to be pre-approved.
If you do go ahead and do it and you are pre-approved, and if you decided not to pre-order it, your pre-approval will remain valid until 3 days after the pre-order begins, so 3 days after 10/27. After those 3 days, you will need to get pre-approved again.

Hurry and get pre-approved.... that way when you see Delivery on 3/1/2018.... you will still order because you had a hard pull on your credit.
This is what I was worried about as well....if you pre-approve...you have a hard pull on your credit....and if delivery is way off, and you decide to cancel and get something else, then you impacted your credit for no reason. Feels like you really have to be committed to a buy even without knowing the delivery date. Hmmmm

False, it is a soft pull IF you are already a member of the IUP.
If you are applying to the IUP for the first time, it is a hard pull.

Yikes...I totally misread that. I thought it was saying my pre-approval was good until the 26th (three days after the pre-approval and missed it stated "pre-order". heh. Thanks for clarifying that.

I keep trying and when it goes to validate my carrier verification it says the PIN does not match, WTF? Its only has lines for my number, billing zip and last 4 of my social.
Hmmm is it for Verizon? They require an account PIN as of ~1 year ago. Same for me, but once I made the PIN and put it in I was sent through.

On AT&T we do not have to use a PIN yet I did not have one so was not needed but for some folks who had AT&T pin they had similar problems.

I have not had a hard pull from iUP since first enrollment and I have 2 phones through the program ( mine and my wife's). I've combed over my credit report to ensure this is not happening. I can't speak for other people but the assertion that you automatically get a hard pull after every upgrade has been false in my case.

And if you just paid off your 6S on the Upgrade Program (because you wanted to wait until the new hotness), you get SOL because the system no longer sees you as a Upgrade Program member.

I'll just wait until early 2018 if the supply rumors are correct.

Can this be done without adding Apple Care?
AppleCare is automatically added into the life of the loan and paid for month by month. I personally prefer this because of my personal preferences with mobile device insurances from AT&T for example. You still need to pay like $200 to fix a cracked screen but Apple charges I believe $25 for a cracked screen. And, it's cheaper than the insurance plans your carrier offers...granted it doesn't cover theft or loss though. There is no way to remove the AppleCare..but it only adds like an extra $5 I believe.

Very very good to hear...thank you!

Maybe check with your carrier account and make sure the billing zip is matches. That was my problem as my shipping/billing addresses are different. ;)

the above article summarizes well the process for the 8 and 8 plus preapproval. This is for existing IUP people from last year, new members will have to enroll on the 27th when chances for server snafus as your credit, carrier and such need confirming and often do not all resolve til later morning.

Except that skips over the part everyone is curious about...how does it work to complete the order on the night. Is there going to be a simple icon that will lead you to it or do you have to go to a specific place?

I noticed there is a link in the calendar invite it created. Maybe clicking on that is the fastest way to complete the order?

It must be overloaded? I can’t even start the process... says please try again later.

I have a question somewhat related to the IUP (but not so much the preapproval)... last year I enrolled in the IUP. Now, this year, I was preapproved without issue...

I've looked on Citizen One and I owe about $350 on my old iPhone 7 that I *intend* on turning back into them. However, I see that they are trending upwards of $575 on eBay. Never mind for a moment the argument of it being worth it to sell or not, but, for those who did it last year... what if I don't want to send my phone back? Or, rather, what if I "lost" or "broke" my iPhone 7 between pre-ordering and receiving my new one and actually had nothing to send back?

Can I still get my new iPhoneX? Worst case they just charge me the remainder of the loan ($350)? I'm just wondering what the options were say I didn't have a phone to return?

Exact same situation for me - 2 phones under my name since iUP started, only one hard pull.

I know that people on this forum love to post nonsense without actually knowing the facts, but wow.

Preapproval done. Now to game plan for 3 am on Friday. I’m going to place one order for the phone then after that one is complete order the case with cover. Hopefully case won’t be in much of demand as the phone. Unless the cases come available early.

Yes that’s all I could find doesn’t show what final step(s) are needed

All done here. If the Apple Store app doesn't crash on me at 3am on Friday, I'm hoping I'll be getting my 256gb Silver close to launch day.

Every time I try to confirm my pin with Verizon, I receive an error about connecting to the server. Frustrating.

Is anyone else having an issue confirming their Verizon pin?

Yes, I’m having this issue too.

(There is no “next page…”)

Hope we get this, along with the mail-in option in the UK next year. We were a year later getting the IUP iirc, so here’s hoping.
