iPhone Upgrade Programme coming to UK tomorrow.

Been following this since it first launched in the States. As someone who always paid outright for my iphone this would be ideal. But my gosh what a blow to the mobile industry over here if this goes live.

One of my sources has confirmed Apple will be announcing that the iPhone Upgrade Programme will be coming to the UK along with the iPhone 7.

Apple will confirm tomorrow at its keynote.

For those unaware of what this is, it allows you to pay a monthly fee over 24 months and upgrade to a new iPhone every 12 months. You also get AppleCare plus included.

Here's a good FAQ that explains how it works http://m.imore.com/iphone-upgrade-program-faq-everything-you-need-know
Good Source !

Anyone know if it delays the order process from experience in the US? It sounds like a good idea but if it's going to be one of those things where it takes a gazillion clicks and then credit auth and all sorts before it happens, I'd rather just buy it outright this time

Prices are up on the apple store for the upgrade programme. A 256mb 7 plus is £57 per month....17.9% APR variable. Thats over £600 a year so over two year £1300 or to buy outright is £919

Where did you get that from? I saw no interest...?
[doublepost=1473276141][/doublepost]Hardest decision ever.... want that £919 phone but then monthly and then month contact fee....

Interestingly enough US customers aren't required to pay an upfront fee and is payable up to 24 months whereas over here it's up to 20 months.

Will see what the likes of EE, o2 etc offer first. Shame you need to visit an Apple Store to take advantage of it.

So if I pre order for the upgrade program how does that work. Do I have to go collect in store on the day what if I can't make the launch day?

I'd imagine you'll have to visit the store on the day as it requires Proof of ID and a credit check. I guess if you can't make it on the day they'll cancel the order unless there's a lot of stock available?

I have just done the maths and its not a bad option for someone who upgrades every year. For a 256mb Silver 7 plus, If i purchase outright, its £919 plus £119 for Apple Care. CEX only give approx £320 for a year old latest iPhone so depreciation is approx £12 a month more than monthly payments.
