Is there a reason why in all of your posts you refer to me as "just as another person that isn't special?" I don't ever remember writing anywhere that I was. I am an Apple customer, I paid my money to Apple. Do you know what that means? It means that I am entitled to my opinion just as you are. If I want to sit here and rip on the iPhone, well guess what, I will. If you want to sit wherever you are worship your iPhone, go for it. And really, if you want to spend your days trying to "embarrass" people on a web forum, I think me posting complaints about the iPhone is the least of your worries.

No, you just come on here with the attitude of OMG WHY DON'T IPHONES DO THIS?! AND THAT?! AND BLAH! WAHAAA!! I WANT IT TO WORK!!! I WANT NOW! I R SO ANGRY DIDN'T HAVE TILL NOW! GRH! POO! OH NOES!!!

And worship my iPhone? It does what I need it to do. Would I like to see more features? Yes. Do I have to have them? No. Should they add more features to keep my business? Yes please.

Main reason as to why I have my iPhone is that I think it does a phone + iPod in one device the best with iTunes. Now I can't forget it. Does it have other benefits too? Yes.

Listen, I liked your idea on profiles but dear god, don't come into a forum going OMGZ BOLD IS SO BETTER!

No one else sees a problem that it took Apple 2 years to come out with a fix that allows all of these features?

Ok so you want these features... and you complain, and now you hear that they're coming out your complaining even more.

Again, you need to read a bit better before replying. I never said the Bold is better. I said I like some of the features that it has that I believe should be incorporated into the iPhone. Features that I feel should have already been incorporated. I also said the iPhone does a lot that the Bold does not. Again, read before you post.

I am here to tell you why I think the iPhone could be much better. I understand Apple is addressing these concerns, but I think they should have been addressed a long time ago.

You posted to tell everyone how the iPhone could be better, and at the same time post that you knew that Apple was fixing the issues that you have? In that case, you are just saying, "Apple took to long to do it." Why didn't you say that in the first post.

Closer to reality......You don't have an iPhone, and you think that your Blackberry is the center of the universe. You had nothing better to do, so you tried to come up with a clever way to come rag on the iPhone where it looked like you were also a user.

No....you aren't a iPhone owner, no....you didn't know that Apple was releasing a software update addressing the same tired issues that every Blackberry owner brings up. You found this out after you started getting responses and tried to cover your tracks by saying that you knew all along.

I'm sorry that you are jealous of those with iPhones and you are stuck with your Blackberry, but could you spend your time sitting alone in your room convincing your self rather that trying to convince everyone else? Thanks much!

I thought I had mentioned that I do have an iPhone, that is why I was complaining about it. Why would I complain about something I don't have? Again, read before you reply. I was aware some of my issues were being fixed in the 3.0 update. I am also aware that they are not correcting other issues that I mentioned. Yes, I have a Blackberry too and I switch between them. It really isn't that hard to pop the SIM card out of the iPhone and put it into another phone. I don't understand why I have upset so many people because I am complaining about a phone. It is just a phone!

Someone please tell me where I can click a button to run spell check? Yes I know the iPhone has auto-correct but I didn't post anything about the lack of auto-correct I posted about a lack of SPELL CHECK.

Um, what?

Honestly, whats the real difference? Auto correct is basically spell check as you go.

I thought I had mentioned that I do have an iPhone, that is why I was complaining about it.

Yes, you did. I am saying that this is almost certainly not true.

Your first 5 complaints were common knowledge before the first iPhone ever came out. Why did you buy it? If it didn't meet you needs, then you shouldn't have bought it.

I love how people back up Apple like it is their small helpless child. I am here to tell you why I think the iPhone could be much better. I understand Apple is addressing these concerns, but I think they should have been addressed a long time ago. Yes, I knew what I was buying when I bought it. And again when I bought the 3G. It just finally hit me how ridiculous it is that these features were not already implemented.

Last time I checked this was a public forum where I could post what I please. Sorry this post wasn't what you are used to. If you can't handle it don't read it, and don't reply.

I see where you are coming from and I am not gonna be mean about it, I just think a lot of people have already addressed the issue as to why Apple took so long to integrate these features. YES they should have come earlier, but Apple likes to take their time and make sure it comes out right. Look what happened when they rushed Push Notification. I say that's 90% why and the 10% is to make you lust after it more once it does come out. That's their style. Haha

If no one questions Apple's, or any company for that matter, products and what they put into them, then future products may be influenced by features we may or may not want or need. So it's good most of the time when people complain, but not everyone wants to hear it all the time, again it is a free forum so we shouldn't shun anyone from making any comment or thread as long as it has to do with the topic forum.

Maybe next time just be a little more clear about your point, which was why it took so long instead of the features we knew were coming.

P.S. Just don't make any threads about the iPhone Nano if you want to last here :D jk

Reading everyone's responses kind of made me laugh. Every one of you wrote how all these issues will be fixes in "the new 3.0 software that is coming out." Why doesn't anyone else see a problem that it took Apple this long to correct these issues? They should have been standard in the first place. As to why am I posting this, because I want to and I can.

How long have these companies with phones that have MMS and whatnot been making mobile phones? Now, how long have Apple been in the mobile phone market? Exactly. Let Apple have the amount of time other companies have had, and they will take over the mobile phone industry, just as they did the MP3 player industry.

Well I am glad someone finally gets what I am saying. I may have been complaining about what the iPhone lacks, but the reason why I am complaining about it is because you and I both know Apple CAN do it. I would disagree though, I think it is 10% to make sure they do it right, and 90% to make you "lust" after it. And that is what really angers me about Apple. Just like they wouldn't release the phone until 6pm. There was no need for it. Apple does this so when it finally happens people will be saying, "Hey the iPhone has MMS, cut/copy/paste, and search!" And those of us that haven't already bought one will probably go out and buy one. When, in reality, it should have been released from the start. If anyone of you can honestly sit there and say Apple didn't "know" how to incorporate this at the beginning then you are insane. They have known how to do this all along, they were just toying with us.

Okay, come when the final release of 3.0 comes out, its not like the Blackberry Bold will then be able to play games and have the amount of apps the iPhone does, when 3.0 comes out, how many things does the Bold have against the iPhone compared to how many things the iPhone as over the Bold?

I understand what the OP is saying. That is part of the reason I am still undecided as to which phone to get. Hopefully by june/july I will know. Its as if companies purposely leave out basic features so ppl will "upgrade" to the latest and greatest, while still leaving features out...

Here's the thing, before 3.0 was announced there were hundreds if not thousands of posts on here complaining about everything you have listed. That's not an exaggeration, do a search and you will see just how many posts and replies to those threads there are. I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who was hoping that since the announcement threads like that would at least die down, and while I didn't expect the complaining to stop about missing features, the ones you listed are those that were addressed in 3.0. I'm not sure why you expected people to agree with you about features that will no longer be missing, even if they had been missing before.

That's exactly what I am saying. They did purposely leave this stuff out and I really doubt I am the first person to discover this. And yes, I know the Blackberry will never come close to the iPhone as far as downloading Apps, however the Blackberry has been able to cut/copy/paste, search, spell check since the very original model. And yes I know the iPhone has auto-correct. However, if you misspell something that the iPhone doesn't have in the auto-correct database, it will not fix it. A spell-checker with an entire dictionary would be much better.

I prefer my Blackberry Curve to my old iPhone 3G any day. I even went and bought an iPod Touch last week and will be returning it today.

I find the apps to be a bit fun at first but then they're just useless. I can't remember how many times I spent browsing around the App Store and looking at all the useless apps.

Apple should have focused more on the "phone" part of the iPhone. It's like they took their time to make an iPod Touch and then just threw a phone and camera in it. I always thought the iPhone was the best phone until I actually saw what it couldn't do as a phone.

It's a great device but I think Apple should really focus more on the "phone" part of the iPhone when they release a new model.

I think they did work on that. The rest is up to AT&T IMO. I have a Storm, 8900, Bold and iPhone 3g... my iPhone 3g gets the best service out of all of them now (2.2.1; now using 3.0 and it has been consistent).

I would agree, but also add they need to work on the email/messaging features as well. As for the Apps, I do find some of them useful. However, I would say over half of the apps are useless. But, when you compare them to the apps that are available for Blackberry, there is no comparison there. That is partially why I keep coming back to the iPhone, due to the amount of apps they have to choose from.

Ok, let me start by saying I was one of the people that waited in line for 10 hours when the original iPhone came out. I paid $500 for an iPhone only to find out the price dropped dramatically a month or two later. Apple's solution? Give us a $100 store credit. Not acceptable.

I currently have an iPhone 3G that I use as well as a Blackberry Bold. I have been switching back and forth between the two. As much as I love the Blackberry it can't do everything the iPhone does. However, as much as I hate/love the iPhone it can't do everything the Blackberry does.

I'll list my main issues with the iPhone. The issues are ones that should be so simple for Apple to correct, yet they don't. It's not that they can't, it's that they won't. That is what angers me. They know these issues exist yet they choose not to correct them.

1) NO MMS-- The iPhone can browse websites, fart (using iFart), turn off the screen when close to your face, etc. but I can't send a picture to my friend. This is absolutely absurd and there is no reason for it. You and I both know that Apple is capable of introducing this to the iPhone, so why not? I love when I ask serious iPhone users or even AT&T employees about the lack of MMS, they always respond, "Oh well there is going to be an update for it soon." Really? This should have been something that was included originally.

2) CAN'T LANDSCAPE KEYBOARD-- Again...we know they can do it, so why not? I use my iPhone for a decent amount of email. I would LOVE to be able to turn my phone and use the keyboard as a landscape display. Again, if you ask others about this, you may get the response, "Well you can download an App for that." I don't want to have to download a separate App, open another program to type an email, then send it to my iPhone email before sending my email. This may be more absurd that the lack of MMS messaging.

3) NO SPELL CHECK-- Apple is trying it's best to compete with Blackberry so that the iPhone can be used by businessmen for intensive emailing. Yet, there is no built-in spell checker. I do not know a business professional out there that doesn't spell-check their email before sending it. Again, we know they can do it since people have written Apps for it. And also again, I don't want to have to open a separate App just to spell-check.

4) NO CUT COPY PASTE-- Again, back to Apple competing with Blackberry. Won't happen without this. And I don't want to hear, "There will be an update/App for this." I can't explain how many times I have wanted to copy and paste something in my browser from a text/email message or vice versa. Again, we know it's possible.

5) LACK OF BLUETOOTH INTEGRATION-- These days you can do so much with bluetooth: Wireless headphones, wireless keyboard, etc. Yet, you cannot use any of these devices on the iPhone (with the exception of a bluetooth headset). What if I want to buy stereo bluetooth headphones so I don't have to have a wire coming from my pocket? What if I want to take my iPhone to a meeting but type with a bluetooth wireless keyboard? Again, so many more things that the iPhone could do, but Apple chooses to not-allow.

6) CAN'T REPLACE OWN BATTERY-- The battery life on the iPhone is horrible. If I am using it as it is intended (checking my email, surfing the web, watching videos, listening to music, etc.) the battery will not last the entire day. They need to either allow access to the battery or improve the battery life. I shouldn't have to pay money to have my battery replaced.

These are just a few items off the top of my head.

Now don't get me wrong I obviously like the iPhone because I am currently using it now. I love all the Apps that are available and they can be very useful. Nothing compares to the touch-screen, display, Apps, etc. that the iPhone has. I just get so frustrated when trying to complete a task so simple as sending an MMS message and then realize I can't do that because I have an iPhone. With all that I have seen the iPhone do the list above should really all be standard.

Apple needs to step it up or else they are going to start losing customers and will never win over Blackberry users.

You knew it didn't have any of that **** when you bought it. Then why bitch about it now?

I would agree with that to some extent. However, when using 3G the battery life on the iPhone is pathetic. They promote it as a fully capable internet browser. Yet, if you are browsing the internet on 3G the battery life drops very quick. Combine that with the fact you can't watch anything flash enabled and can't have a backup battery since you can't change your own battery, yes it still needs work.

You knew it didn't have any of that **** when you bought it. Then why bitch about it now?

I am complaining because it is all stuff that it should have done from the start. If you don't agree fine, don't reply.

People don't buy an iphone just to use it only as a phone...or else why not just stick with the el cheapo free phone...

What can't the iPhone do as a phone?

How bad is the battery life? Do you have to charge it daily, twice a day, etc? This is regarding if you use it to play music, make calls, 3G web, etc, no streaming video

I would agree with that to some extent. However, when using 3G the battery life on the iPhone is pathetic.

<RANT>

They aren't simple, they are correcting. Gem up on OS 3.0

1 - MMS in ~2 months
2 - Landscape Keyboard - coming.
3 - Spell check - there is some. I'd imagine it'll be part of SDK also, if the app maker implements.
3 - Cut Copy Paste - ~2 Months. Hold your horses
4 -Lack of BT Integration The iPhone (3G) by all accounts might soon have the best BT integration and peripheral systems around. Wait 2 months.

6 - Can't replace own battery. But it is replacable. The life is actually decent, but the drain by certain apps is high. If your battery is wearing down, you don't "have to pay money to have my battery replaced" - Go see a Genius.

"Wah! Why didn't the ferrari come out right after the Model-T?" Did you really just join the forum for this? It's called progress, dude. It takes time.
