iPhone X - AT&T activation time

This sucks. Everyone else's seems to work, mine gave me a random "Activation is Pending" message and now nothing. My old phone is still working.

Why always me.
 
Same boat as everyone here but finally got in when I tried this.

Tried activating on the phone, but stopped when I finally got to the Verify your phone number screen.

I left it on that screen and then plugged the phone into my laptop with iTunes running. iTunes took over at that point and asked me to input my phone and last 4 of my social. I hit enter and it went thru.

I did get a message saying that more time was needed to contact the carrier. I just clicked ok and tried again. I looked at the phone and the FaceID setup appeared. On iTunes, it gave me the congrats, your iPhone is not unlocked.

If you’re having issues, give this this phone/iTunes combo a try.

Mine just went thru, funny, as soon as I got on the phone to talk to apple, and put my serial number, the activation just went thru... Good luck every one...
 
I finally got in. Didn't do anything different. Hit retry several times, reboot, take a break, repeat. Last time I hit retry I got the screen to confirm the phone number, it went through, as did the remaining screens. The activation screen that seems to be taking some people over an hour, if it ever finishes, took about 3 minutes. Hopefully things are improving. I setup face id and Apple Pay, it is now upgrading to 11.1, very excited!
 
All good now. I rebooted and was able to go through the motions with no problems. Now updating to iOS 11.1. Almost there...
 
I just went to ATT's activation website, hit submit and it activated after I recycled the phone.
 
I'm ****ed I guess. My phone said activation was pending, and it let me set everything up, but I have no cellular data. Can't make phone calls, etc. No clue what to do now. I'm sure if I call AT&T they'll just tell me there's an issue.

I got the same message, then chose the option to try again, and was able to activate it!

Thanks! This combo worked for me!!!! It took only two hours to finally get my iPhone X activated!

So how do I activate a phone that didn't activate but I just restored my backup on and setup?
 
WORked on apple store WiFi of all places

I wonder if they prioritize apple ip’s or if it was pure luck after trying 2 hours (was in store to pick up another X)
 
I went and got some lunch, and when I came back, it activation worked without any trouble on the first try. So I think the trick is that it won't work if you're hungry.
 
I got mine working finally.. :), now the restore process.. oh wait.. can't restore because iPhone isn't on 11.1.. /sigh
 
Mine still won't work. I'm finally getting to the point where it wants me to confirm my billing zip and social. I put in the info, and then it says they can't verify my info with ATT. ATT has confirmed my info is correct and apple is saying it's a server issue.
I'm thinking that Apple knows there will be server issues, but just doesn't care. They probably figure it's only a day or so, people will eventually forget, and they just ignore it. Hoping it will go through in the next hour or so, but who knows...

Just confirming it's definitely an apple issue. I've checked the AT&T website and their site is already updated with the fact that I'm using an iPhone X and it says there are no phones to be activated. Seems to be activated on their side, but Apple's servers can't read that fact.
On the plus side, I am definitely familiar with the new shut down key combination!
