For me is everything fine since 6 weeks. Maybe a app update or iOS 11.2.6 or now 11.3 fixed that issue for me. Before it pop up every 2-5 days....

Yes it looks fixed for me too. But now my battery drains every day. First it didn’t on the days the problem didn’t occur. But now it does drain everyday.. from 94% to 75% in half an hour of usage this morning.

Someone else who has that problem now instead of the draining in combination with the usage and standby time the same?

NO, do you know for sure it is draining or is the percentage thing messed up?

Drain till phone turns off, leave for 5 hours, then plug in, once it turns on turn it off, charge for 5 hours or more and then go from there.

Yes its draining for sure. Did a clean install, and recalibrated the battery (apple care told me to do that).
My battery health is 100%. Thats logical as my iPhone 7 is a swapped iPhone that I got in the apple store at the end of January this year..

I’m only getting 3/4 hours of use out of it and then it’s empty.. so I’m not happy..

IOS 11.3 has a new feature in battery section that shows health of batter, or ability to hold charge, what does that say?

It says 100% (but my phone is a replacement from 10 weeks old so I’m not surprised that it’s still at 100%)

I’m also using the low battery mode every day. When it’s at 80% I toggle it back on.

What language is that, just curious?

Your battery is not working properly, contact apple support via their website if you are not close to a store. For sure.

It’s Dutch :)

Yes I’m already in contact with them since November 2017. This is my 4th iPhone 7 (3th replacement). They replaced it because of the usage and standby time the same problem.

Today they contacted me, because two weeks ago I did send my sys files again. And they told me it is an software problem. But I guess I need to open a new case for this new problem.. I’m getting really annoyed and I’m not close to an apple store (1,5 hour drive). But it needs to get fixed finally.. those replacements are not so good. Or I’m having no luck with them..

Thanks for thinking with me!
I’ll post the outcome here, when it’s solved finally..!

I am on iOS 11.3 and my X again has this problem... It’s a shame it isn’t fixed since iOS 11.3.

It's generally not an OS thing as much as some app or process can get stuck or continuously run for some reason, which can happen with iOS version or really pretty much any OS in general.

If you keep blaming iOS for this problem, it will never go away. If you want to fix the problem, you are going to have to put in the work to find which app is causing it.

Was just coming in to post it hasn’t happened to me since 11.3 and that it might be fixed finally.

Then I read your post lol. So I’m expecting mine to do the same any next charge now.

I disagree. It’s not an app. I have less than 20 apps installed on my iPhone. Most stock with the exception of google,YouTube, google earth,BoA and a simple passwords storage app.

It’s too common for the bug to be a random rouge app imo.

I hear what you're saying but if it was an iOS bug we would all see the problem.

That’s not true either. There are plenty of iOS bugs not everyone experiences.

And I bet some don’t even know this battery issues is happening to them. I don’t notice any extra battery drain on my device so I’m sure others don’t either.

I just happen to check my usage a bit more.

If it was an app, closing the app doesnt fix it because I have done that over and over. Now I have not had the issue since 11.3 but I am not sure that means anything, yet.

The only way to make sure it is an app is to delete it, then see if battery still doing it, I have done that too and it doesnt stop it.

It's not an app. How could it be an app when we all have different ones installed?

And it is happening to millions of people who simply dont know it, they arent constantly checking battery info like we do, hell most dont even know that part of the phone exists, that info.

AND boy did I SPEAK too soon. here we go AGAIN!!

Opened FB, starting happening, closed it, turned off notification, still doing it, next I will delete FB again, big pain and see but willing to bet nothing will fix it until I reset network settings and recharge to 100.

I dont know if resetting network matters, which is also a huge pain because any preset wifi i have is gone and I dont have the setting to ask me if i want wifi access because those popups are endless.

This morning, I got this problem AGAIN... I still don't know what app is causing this, but I think iOS shouldn't allow this to happen. It's just a bit frustrating.

Hey everyone, I kinda solved the standby/usage issue on my iPhone X. Below is my experience.

My current version is the 11.2.6.

The standby/usage issue was happening almost every day or two. Last month I switched off my phone, then switched on again and done a soft reset.

Once done, I plugged it while between 5% - 19% and wait till it's 100% charged, BUT, what I started doing was to open Whatsapp or any other app before unplugging it from the charger. This has definitely made the difference.

At night I put the phone on airplane mode, during the day being in office I keep everything on, but again, if I just unplug the phone without using it at all before removing the cable, I notice that usage/standby will be the same after some time.

If I use it a lil bit before unplugging it, usage and standby will have normal levels.

I regularly use it for a few seconds before unplugging it and since a month or so has made the difference.

I haven't touched anything in the apps settings.

You could try this way and see the result, nothing to lose, instead if it works, you have the problem solved :)

This has come back worse than ever for me. Phone is currently showing 11hrs of usage. The standby and usage aren't 1 for 1 but they are close. Everything is off. Also tells my that iCloud photos is 100% updated but it hasn't uploaded photos for a couple of days... Want to do a iTunes restore but will have to restore from backup so don't think it will help.

I have figured out what app causes the problem. However, it is one of my most used apps, so I can’t delete it. Does re-installing help?

For me it turned out to be Waze. I now just rely on Apple maps which haven’t let me down yet.

I just chatted with Apple Support about this, and the person that helped me stated it is probably an iOS problem. Apple knows it is present and wants to fix it in (one of) the next updates. So it seems to be an iOS problem according to him, but I am not sure if he is right of course!

past several weeks i have had no times for usage/standby. I use wirless charging everyday and wasn't til i charged with my cable where the usage times and standby came back. updated to latest OS last night and the usage and standby times are correct again.

Even if you don't have the app as open or have it enabled under background app refresh?
