I was hoping this might be the case since there is a new modem firmware. Let's hope it sticks.

Just had the bug pop up again. Siri was at 27 percent battery usage so I put my phone down when it said 2,5 hours usage. 2 hours later it says 4,5 hours usage and dropped 10 percent. This is really annoying.

Yes... Permanently resolved now.
Still?

I have the X, and this problem comes and goes, this last time nothing I did fixed it until a hard reset and recharge.

Frustrating.

I have seen this on my X too, but in my case it seems to be just a strange bug in the battery usage display.

In my case the battery isn’t draining abnormally when this happens.
Check again...AT first seems that it isnt, but if you compare to when it is not happening you can see that it is draining.

On my Iphone X I install ios 11.3 beta and new ios fix it.
11.2.6 is what I have and is current, as in it is not prompting me to do a new one, so what is up with that?

BY THE WAY as of yesterday Apple care said they know of no such issue as this when I asked them when I called in for help. She said there is no history of this being a problem.

ALSO for those who say "resetting network settings" resolved it. When you do that the usage and standby counters reset to 0, so to KNOW if it fixed it you have to recharge to 100% so the counters work again. I wonder if the recharge is what is fixing it, especially if people are doing a hard reset first.

Where do you live? I am in the Netherlands, here they say it is an unknown issue too. I am busy with my fourth (!!) replacement, because of this problem. I have an iPhone 7 and the issue started in late October/begin November, after my phone worked perfectly fine for 5 months. Started to report it since November.
Like I said, they want to replace it again but I think it's useless because it's not a hardware problem!

My battery drains fast when the thing is occurring. Recharge it three times a day sometimes.

Now it didn't occur yesterday and I didn't have to recharge my phone. It has 53% now! So when it's not occurring I can use my phone for two days..

Apple is aware of the problem but I don’t believe they know how wide spread it is
So call tech support and document it so that we get a fix quicker

Yes I called Apple care since November. Now busy with the 4th replacement (5th iPhone 7). Not that that's gonna help.. :-(

Everyone needs to call support indeed! Otherwise its never getting fixed.

I can confirm my iPhone X does not have any extra battery drain while usage and standby is the same. I was also one of the first to post a thread about the bug, but it was merged into this thread.

Ive tried a few of the obvious fixes but every now and then it comes back. It's not bothering me any longer because in my case it does not affect the experience negatively.

Ive also posted that lately both my devices, iPhone X and iPad air wont show individual app battery usage. It says to wait a few minutes. I have not been using my devices that much lately so I'm not sure if its just from a lack of use.

Either way, iOS has battery bugs that need to be fixed.

Some problem here with battery usage/standby ... nothing help, hard reset, setup as new few times, 1-2 days and problem back again. Also have this isue with my first iphone x

I had this problem in the first week I bought my iPhone. Did a hard reset while charging and shut down my iPhone for a whole night and after that I had no problems anymore.

By hard reset you mean merely

Press and quickly release the Volume Up button first. Next, quickly press and release the Volume Down button. Finally, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

That? But in your case for some reason you did this while it was charging? And then once at 100% you shut down the phone meaning you powered off for one night?

Indeed, the description you wrote is a hard reset. Do it while charging and when it’s 100% let it charge 2 hours more. Then take it off from the charger. Then shut down the phone for a night. After you wake up, turn the phone back on and put it back on the charger again for 30 min. After 30 min take it off from the charger and start using it. This was my method. :)

Apple is aware of the problem as I’ve mentioned before. I don’t think they realize how big it is and that’s probably why they haven’t created a fix

Call Apple Tech Support let them know
This will increase the likelihood of a fix

How can you do that? Never heard of that before.

What I will do is simply run the battery all the way down. Until the phone shuts itself off.

Then I leave it on the charger all the way to %100 and keep it on the charger for about an hour or so after it hits %100

It fixes the issue every time, and for at least 10/12 days or so.

Fascinating all the "sacrifice a chicken under the full moon" level "fixes" for this, as opposed to just finding the application that's stopping the phone from sleeping and removing it.

I have had it do this with all apps closed, location services turned off, etc. I have deleted apps like WAZE which are notorious for this and SIRIUS/XM which is also known to do this sometimes, and it still happens.

Some of us have been thru the ringer with this.

I was having the same issue on my iPhone X, standby and usage were the same and battery drain was significant. I tried every suggestion on this thread and they were all temporary fixes. I updated to the 11.3 beta about three weeks ago and the issue hasn’t returned since. The official 11.3 update should be out in a few weeks, but for those who want to update ASAP and see if it fixes the issue here’s the link https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ Just sign up with your Apple ID and follow the steps to install the 11.3 beta. Worked for me so far and worth a try if you’ve already tried everything. Hope this helps!

I’m having this issue, too. Standby and usage time are always the same. Since battery run-time is fine, it looks like a statistics bug to me.

It's not, but you go on believing that if it gives you comfort.

Touch wood coming up to 50 charge cycles never had this problem before running iOS 11.2.1
I only use Tuneinradio, Twitter,Safari,Netflix and Spotify could be app related issue
