Hmm another $300 and doesn't ship until November 2.

So X has larger display, OLED, less bezel and Face ID. Whats the dimensions on the phone itself compared to the 8 and 8 plus?

Just from the presentation, it looked even fatter (thicker) to me than the current phones. Not good. The 6S Plus/7 Plus were already too heavy and fat. The original 6 series is a joy to hold compared to the fatter/heavier phones that followed.

Oh man. The display still isnt up to the S7 level yet?? The S7/S8 Edge already owns the edgeless category and still seems to do it better. Does Apple even look at their competition?
No home button ='s no way. The facial recognition failed on stage? Its also going to be slower and not work in the real world environments (ie, weather etc...) Spent too much time with stupid emoji crap directed to kids. Apple is not leading any more and is white noise. So disappointed. I was so hoping Apple wold leap frog the competition but still is playing catch up.

Pretty much. Watch Series 3 was the Star of the show. I might keep my 6 or just get a 7 plus for a good discount.

Stay away from the 7 Plus. Lousy speaker phone quality. Issue is obviously hardware related. I've tried 5 of 'em. If you never use the speaker phone, okay. But I do.

Good catch. Im am guessing Apple left off that important point on purpose(weight/dimensions)

I'll be ordering an 8 to replace my cracked on its last legs 6 then.

I saw a lot of attention to emojis and games. That's when I said to myself, nah, this is dumb.

This was very underwhelming. I think I'm going to wait until the 10s once all the kinks are sorted out as I'm sure there will be a lot. I'm also disappointed in the price. I know it was rumored to be in the $1000 range, but this is getting to be too much for a phone.

The leaks really took the wind out of this launch.

Absolutely nothing new.

Even Ming-Chi Kuo got the delayed ramp info spot on.
Definitely the leakiest keynote in recent history. Only thing we didn't know for certain was launch/pre-order dates.

To me the funniest part of the whole show was the video they showed of Spider Man. It was funny because Spider Man or the narrator said something about "tech making it too easy" to steal the cash.

"Right," I thought. "That's a statement about Apple if there ever was one." Man, if I worked at Apple, I would have spoken up about the negative messaging. I guess no one at Apple is brave enough.
[doublepost=1505243040][/doublepost]I also felt that the thumb would get cramped/tired being used to go back to the home page and/or unlock the phone by swiping up. Too much swiping up.

I don't regularly use the speakers so I am good and I don't want to spend on an 8 if its pretty much the same.

I think I might actually check out the note 8 for the next year.

Pixel 2 will be worth a look. Project Fi is such a superior service that that alone makes the Google offering of interest.

I do like a cell phone to at least be a capable phone.

Well, Apple removed the headphone jack last year and now they've removed Touch ID. Both are two things that I use frequently. And yes, I know I can get the iPhone 8 / 8 Plus, but then I would feel like I don't have the best product that Apple has. I think at this point I will be going from a 7 to either a 6s or a SE. Not sure yet.

I was under whelmed by the iPhone X. I am not sold on this Phone not having Touch ID. That with the price point I think will lead me to pass on this Phone.

2 more hours than the 7

The claim is 2 hours more than iPhone 7.

Apple made a similar claim that iPhone 7 has 2 hours more than 6S.

"Up to 2 more hours" in certain tasks (phone calls most likely). If you go on the Apple site and compare the specs of the 7, 7 plus and X...

7 - up to 12 hours of internet use on LTE
7 plus - up to 13 hours of internet use on LTE
X - up to 12 hours of internet use on LTE

So the X has the same internet use time as the smaller iP7.

Can't say it's boring, but the premium for custom emoji is frightening for people willing to fork out $$$ for the iPhone X because of that selling point.
