@walds11 & @ducatiti I struggled to remove the black MO case. Have you by any chance removed the clear one? Did you struggle? Any removal tips? And thanks for the photos. The clear one looks really nice.

No struggles for me. Like everyone else said, start from one of the bottom corners and give it a little pop, push or twist off...

No, no, the bottom edge where you rest the phone on the pinky of holding one handed is sharp not smooth like the MO bumper or others are.

Exactly! Also, the extra TPU they added around the edges makes it a little uncomfortable to hold in the hand. I don’t like the squared off design of the bumper either.

Can you guys take a picture of the black fusion bumper under the sun? I would like to see a more accurate picture of how glossy it is? I am awaiting delivery of a black version =)

I’m interested is seeing this as well. I might grab the black bumper to go along with my clear one for my silver X :)

I finally received a reply to my email to MO. I sent it the Monday before thanksgiving. I wanted to know if their Fusion bumper protected the camera lens. They sent a really nice response, saying that they apologize for the delay. In the reply they told us what we already found out. They say the bumper protrudes out the exact same distance as the camera bump.

“I reached out to the designer and he told me that camera on the iPhone X basically purtrudes out up to the same point that the Impact Bumper purtrudes out. So when the phone is resting on a desk for example, both the camera and the bumper are touching the desk. Because of this the bumper eliminates the annoying wobble that happens when the phone isn’t protected by the bumper.”

For me, I just don’t know if I’m comfortable with this. I want minimal protection, but the camera lens is my main concern.

On another topic, I have had the K11 bumper from before I got my iPhone X. I never tried it on until 2 days ago. I just didn’t like the look of it in the packaging. I know others have said they don’t like the look, but on my SG X I think it looks really good. I agree that the buttons are really stiff and it is not the most comfortable to hold in my hand, but I like it. I have purchased a lot of cases this year again, even though I made it my goal to not buy a lot. So far, from all of them (Apple leather case, Apple folio, Fusion bumper, Clear edge case, K11, & RS Mod case) I am liking the look of the K11. The rubber parts are a nice matte black and the stainless steel is a nice dark gray. For now that’s what I am using. I plan to email Thanotech to see if they have made any changes to the buttons, since I pre ordered right away and I’m sure I got the first production run. The K11 seems narrower than all of the other cases. The Fusion I guess is thinner, in depth. I for sure don’t like the shiny plastic of the black Fusion bumper, but the pictures of the clear one look really nice.

Great minds.....

Thanotech asked me for some pictures of my grey bumper today as they wanted to see why it was sharp down by the lightning port.

Like you, I hadn’t used it much opting for the clear MO, but now that I’ve got the K11 back on, I’m really liking it. I’ll let you know what they say about the sharp areas on the bottom but I’m pleasantly surprised after not giving it a chance.

In my experience the first week and a half or so with the k11 I found it fairly uncomfortable because of the sharp edges. But now I guess my hands got used to it because I find it feels pretty nice now. I now like the way it feels in my hands.

In their installation video they actually comment on why they made the edges sharper than their previous version which were rounded. They claim it’s to help pick the phone up off the table.

I’m really loving the feel of the stainless steel band. Buttons have gotten better with use but they are still stiff by all means.

Their drop test video isn’t as impressive as the MO drop test with what looks like an iPhone 8 dropped like 20 feet, but it’s impressive. I hope to never drop this 9 feet.

True. The corners are super stiff and have no play when you press on them so I’m confident it will protect the screen from a drop on the corner (reasonable height). Unlike my other case for my 6s plus which would flex easily on the corners and didn’t protect the phone from a 2-3 feet drop. I believe it was mil spec too. :-/

Can the sharp edges be sanded or filed down a bit?

Great feedback guys. I’m still over the moon with my MO clear fusion bumper. The bumper level with the camera bump doesn’t bother me. I thought about ordering the black fusion bumper, but not digging the shiny black plastic that I’m hearing about.

As for the K11, I can’t stand the stiff buttons and squared off, rough feeling design. If love to see a redesign with clicky, tactile buttons and a more rounded design.

The K11 feels more sturdy and the grip is a little better then the MO. IMHO

True, but the MO is sturdy and grippy enough for me. I have looked at bumpers or cases since receiving it ;)

Why haven't you been looking !!!!?? I have..... I have been looking at the black MO Fusion bumper lol.

The sapphire not enough?

I have a skin on my camera that has holes for both lenses and mic. A bit unnecessary but it came with the BSE skin set, so might as well..

I finally pulled the trigger last night and ordered me $75 worth of Rhinoshield Mod case. It better be fantastic lol

So I thought I didn't like the K11 all that much, popped it on again and took off my white silicone. Using it all day changed my mind, it's starting to feel more comfortable, I made some slices in the rubber around the buttons with a razor blade to make them easier to press.

I do wish the edges were rounded like the last version, but overall pretty nice. I think I'll be swapping between this and the apple silicone for a while!

Ugh guys don’t do this. I don’t wanna try another case.... lol. I’ve always liked how the K11 looks but wasn’t big on the reactions to the buttons and the feel. I wasn’t thrilled about the shiny look to the MO bumper but I got over it. Maybe if there’s a deal on the K11 I’ll check it out.
