I’m 60-80% that Apple is, in some way, impacting the lack of media or public awareness of this issue. There being no fix other than refund is huge.
[doublepost=1519584228][/doublepost]There are media sites that took on light bleed that was less of an issue, some people obsessed with urine and screens and iPads that take a tad too long to charge.

Yet an issue that possibly affects the majority of every iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X.

Crickets.
Yet there is only you and a handful others in this forum that are posting about any issues. If this does affect "the majority of every iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X", it must only affect in a way that most people don't use their phones. Because if there was a widespread problem, the uproar on this forum would be bigger.

This is very strange. I'm posting on almost all the YouTubers videos and no one shows up. Inclusive of YouTubers who read and respond to comments, but mine nothing.
It’s interesting. I know many don’t think it’s a big deal but I bet if I polled 100 people who just dropped $800+ on I’d it was acceptable to them on their phone it would be well over 50% not ok with it.
[doublepost=1519648953][/doublepost]700 views on the Reddit post and not even 1 post-level upvote. I call BS.

That’s why I feel like Apple told them something like “we’re onto it” “we’re getting our customers taken care of.”

I think you are right.

I just have zero confidence that they are on to it.
From 11.0 to 11.3 public beta 3.. not an ounce of improvement, much less a solution.

It's time this issue is brought to light. I am convinced, more than ever now, that the issue is being hidden as it would be a significant event if it was announced and there is no resolution in place.. including replacing the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X or 7 Plus. They literally have no solution.

Apple has concluded my case by:

- admitting the issue exists and interferes with the use of the product.
- admitted that there is no resolution 'fix' for the issue.
- admitted that it affects the 8, 8 Plus, X and & 7 Plus.
- admitted that there is no timeframe for resolution.

Apple has denied my formal request for refund. Email attached.
[doublepost=1519317541][/doublepost]Look at when I joined this site. It was before there was an iPhone.
I am not some fly-by person coming here to complain about an issue.
I do have over five years of professional device testing experience and have been testing informally for a decade more than that.

There will always be quirks with hardware/software.

IMO, this issue is significant in impact and size. You literally cannot use many applications on the phone without the speaker being damaged.
[doublepost=1519317812][/doublepost]There are people, who for not much $$, will be glad to stand in the public space in front of the Apple Store and remind people to, and how, to check their new iPhone or busted speakers.
The above is enuf to sue them for a refund. Try the FTC even.

It’s not a software issue so improvement wouldn’t be something software would be able to deliver.

I kinda doubt. Might be a placebo effect...
They should try and download "night sky" or "4 pics 1 word" and keep clicking around.

But I think our problem is different from some here. Our problem is not the crackling sound but the buzzing sound. As a distortion in earpeace at maximum volume, mainly in WhatsApp audios and calls in speaker.

I can confirm 11.3 public beta 3 does not fix the speaker clipping issue.

PBz, I still can not understand what the clipping issue would be. Do you have a video showing your issue? Would it be a "clack" noise while running some apps?
Here is a link.

It is most obvious and demonstrable in apps like this.
However, I know get it in YouTube, Podcasts, Music and other non-Apple apps.

Very sad a man made device of any kind made in the tens of millions isn't absolutely perfect...
Are you kidding me? This is happening to a lot of devices because they’re using cheaper parts.
“Very was a bank dealing with hundreds of billions was laundering tens of billion. How’s that sad?”
Are you kidding me?

Apple has admitted its unacceptable. It eventually affects more and more apps in the phone. But apparently you are ok not using your phone as it’s marketed and sold to you since nothing can be perfect.
[doublepost=1519846725][/doublepost]I don't remember who but someone said that the early runs of devices had less of or none of this issue.

I ran into a guy yesterday with a launch X and his device did NOT have the issue.
